I saw Chieli in 1997 or 8 at a winery in Oregon. His group couldn't make it, so it was just him, his guitar, and looping pedals. He blew us all away. I was so impressed, I immediately bought 2 of his albums. The studio work is never as powerful as live. His performance was a highlight of that summer.
Great clip. Chieli is an unbelievably good guitarist and an equally talented composer. I have seen him live a handful of times, and it is a real treat. While so much of his music is excellent, his 1996 CD "Renaissance" is in my all time Smooth Jazz Top 20.
