I spent 10 years working with Luther making eight albums with him.. I saw him up close watch him work with as close as you can get to seeing how he pulled everything together and what we did to make those albums, iconic, and that still resonate today.. I write extensively about Luther in my book and bring you right inside of the sessions and the stories of how these albums were made along with other artist that I worked with… there is nobody who will ever have that voice that he had… he knew how to use it and what to do with it to bring people into the music… I tell many stories, including the moment that I knew that he was going to Crossover, which was at our Studios in Montserrat when we were working on the give me the reason album and we put together the track stop to love… I hope I get a chance to see this… documentary… now when I work with a vocalist, I use all the tricks that I learned from Luther… it truly was like getting a PhD.. and he has missed… I also went through four major diets with him… that’s another story.. I think Luther story deserves a Broadway musical
Just finished watching ❤ it Had chills little tears when Luther said song Dance with My Father was his career song than he suffered a stroke was in a coma for 2 months when Richard Marx accepted the second grammy win on his behalf Now time to listen to Here and Now and I'd Rather as my all time fav classic hits RIP Mr. Vandross your songs will live the test of time 🙏🙏 Your Fan AB🇮🇹🇺🇲
It was a wonderful documentary. His voice was amazing and timeless music. Im so glad that I saw him in concert. It was one of the best concerts that I ever saw. I wish I had seen more of them. He seemed to have a kind heart. I remembered when he had the stroke and remembered seeing how much it affected him when Oprah interviewed him. It was so sad to see how the stroke debilitated him and when he passed away😢💔 🙏🏾
I'll always love Luther's music. I still listen to his songs today. The documentary was beautifully done. With all of the depressing news lately, this documentary was a breath of fresh air. ❤
I will never understand why people rather listen to DMX, Snoop Dogg and Lil' Kim, than they would for a ballad from "Luther" or SWV, Teddy Pendergrass - "When Somebody Loves You Back".
We can love and both can exist. Not sure what era you're born in but my era, we experienced it all together. That's how. Just like my family loves Gospel, Country and R&B and Hip Hop and I studied and performed classical. These can all exist musically and be loved at the same time. ❤
Not sure of your age, but all the artist you mentioned was and is so much better than what we have today and that’s including Luther, SWV TP…. They’re all good. And it also depends on the type of music you like! Back in the 80’s and 90’s music was awesome all music
