Brings tears to my eyes to see how much Luther adores and respects Mariah’s talent. He treated her so well and let her shine bright, never dimming himself in the process. In fact, he shines brighter because of it. And Mariah, oh how glorious she was and remains. Never disrespect Mariah the living legend.
Mariah is really respectful when she is with someone on a stage she would never overshadow Luther at his concert, she deeply respected Luther, her microphone is also lowered a semitone from his for this reason. But I noticed that instead if she is at one of her concerts then the music changes, and sings normally without holding back, aside from when he was with Michael Bolton at his concerts, totally outsing him without even trying, but I think she wanted to get noticed there, and her voice was so big that it would have been impossible not to overshadow Michael.
@@honestperson3042 True. Also in I'll be there MSG 95 with Wanya and in One sweet day MSG 95, she didn't hold back and she outsing everyone so easily, obviously I'm talking about the unedited vocals, the edited version for the audio quality is a crap in comparison. She didn't outsing anyone voluntarily but usually only at her concerts she doesn't hold back
I, also, was watching it thinking how safe it seems he made her feel and how he took care of her. She has her own power but there's something about being on stage with someone who "has you". I could tell, he had her...❤❤
Watching Nov 2024 😊 Saw Luther live many years ago in Glasgow and, even after a huge number of other live gigs, it remains my top pick. A stunningly handsome man with the smoothest beautiful voice who was taken far far too soon. A long time fan, live I was overjoyed to fine he sounded exactly the same as, if not better than, on CD (shows you how long ago it was 😂) and he moved me to tears. Undoubtedly, my favourite male artist of all time. This duo was a dream come true for me as Mariah was one of my favourite female artists. Oh and the Lionel and Diana version of this was the 1st dance at my wedding 31 years ago….shame we got divorced 24 years ago 😂😂 that said, it remains one of my all time favourite songs ❤️

This was pure magic. Luther has a unique tone and much more so Mariah. I can't hear anyone else but Mariah doing this with Luther -- with her soaringly airy highs, precise softness and roaring crescendos. No one else could've stood in for Mariah here. No one.

After hearing Diana Ross and Lionel Richie sing this song I never thought it could be beaten. But here we are appreciating these 2 legends like it was their song to start with...

May you RIP Luther…. You have garnered the utmost respect and prominence to the life you have lived and created your own talent that made you who you are(were).

That's why she is the golden standard. And she's also the reason why we have pop hiphop collab. She's the ultimate crossover artist. Well it's because she was early exposed from classical to hiphop.

Neil Diamond and Barbra Streisand live version of You Don’t Bring Me Flowers
When Mariah said, "And Iiiiii..." I literally felt like I was melting and floating at the same time I can't explain it.
Hello Hunter, how are you doing ?
How are you doing today my name is Eric Moore
Hello
Help me to cry 😭
Just so beautiful
Shivers down my spine… in the best way …. Awesome vocals !!! 😍😍😍
I could tell, he had her...❤❤
I totally agree with you !
You've exactly written what I feel whenever I listen to this beautiful song . Thank you for starting-blocks the same feeling :-)
I love their individual music so much, but this is a beautiful and timeless collaboration between two of the greatest artists of all time.
I agree Takala. The chemistry is there too. x
Takala Martin
so so right takala
..Luther Vandross will ever last for me .....
Luther, Mariah and Mariah's left hand give a great performance here ;-)
Hahahah
Cody Walsh
Michael jacksin
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
Hahahahha her left hand has more great performance in 2005-2006. ( AMA DONT FORGET ABOUT US ) HAHAHHAHAHAHAHA
Lol 😂
Luther is The Ultimate Gentleman 💖
Lindos.
I once played this in speaker and my sister instantly loved this one. Since then she would always ask me to play this loud in our house. Sadly she passed away in September. Now when I listen to this, it brings me back to those moments we were together, our bonding moments.
I miss you so so much Ashley, you will always be my endless love 💜
so sorry to hear....take heart💝
So sorry for your loss. 🙏 What a beautiful way to remember your love and bond.
الله يرحمها ويصبركم
May her soul Rest In Peace I’m sorry about your loss
💜
September 2022 and this is STILL one of the best vocal duets of all time! INCREDIBLE talent, beautiful lyrics, no gimmicks......just timeless. Thank you Mariah and Luther
Aqui deitada ouvindo a está tão linda música
@@thany434 it really is beautiful! 😊
Wow just wow
Absolutely 💯
I concur
If luther hasn't passed away, i cant imagine how amazing it would be if Luther sings this song with mariah and lionel richie.. Rest In Peace Luther Vandross, Absolute Legend!
Luther Vandross is gone!!?? When!!! He is one of my favorite...
@@andychang7137 he died in 2005
@@andypandy4722 thanks, bro
just checked it
man, such a great singer
I got his album for somewhere out there but didn't really follow him ever since
i'll always remember his voice
Luthers impromptu harmonies to Mariah in the beginning is so effortlessly amazing. He just rode it and she kept switching it up. True vocalists
There ain't a lot of times in history when a live performance or rendition is almost as perfect as the original if not even better. But damn, this duet. RIP Luther. One of the greatest to ever do it
Omg he died?? :/
True... This is beautiful .Hello from Accra
Better! Always makes me cry, and I don't often cry with songs! Not cos it's sad, just because of the performance.
This was perfection .
@@anon2095 17-18 years ago
This was pure magic. Luther has a unique tone and much more so Mariah. I can't hear anyone else but Mariah doing this with Luther -- with her soaringly airy highs, precise softness and roaring crescendos. No one else could've stood in for Mariah here. No one.
That's point!
Whitney Houston could have for sure so that’s bollocks
@@MrCostaC True, but Mariah rendered best!
@@MrCostaC Whitney has her version of this song. Go and listen to it.
Whitney for sure could have; but MAN was Mariah perfect for this with Luther.
Spectacular. Luther is the best and this duet is timeless and incomparable.
Very timeless
Nothing like Mariah and Luther the BEST❤❤
Mariah's hand gestures are so iconic. One of the best duets of all time bravo!
Rick James go do some homework
Siyabonga dlamini
Look how Luther controlled his voice all the way, Mariah is a great singer and it's not an easy job to sing along with her. Luther just incredible !!
i agree
Luther was also a great artiste. Impeccable artistry on his part as well.

Bought this Long playing CD when my daughter Kim Alica was born on the 13 Dec 1994 to celebrate her birth, luther Vandross left us to soon, luv his music and still listen to his music today on vinyl, started to follow him in the 80,s and never looked back xxxx
One of the best duet EVER!!!❤❤❤❤❤ From two of the greatest artist of all time!!!!!!❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Mariah's voice is so warm. Everytime she belts it feels like an angel is giving you a hug :D
After hearing Diana Ross and Lionel Richie sing this song I never thought it could be beaten. But here we are appreciating these 2 legends like it was their song to start with...
have u ever watched the glee version? :D
its an rnb version
very nice
Hands down this version. The harmonies and individual notes are unreal!
I was one of the spotlight operators on this show , lighting Luther from out front high in the balcony at the Albert Hall.
Marvelous

This man…. Had a Masterpiece of a voice that can never be repeated. Not only his pristine vocals, but his stage presence, drew your attention , to another level with his background singers. May you RIP Luther…. You have garnered the utmost respect and prominence to the life you have lived and created your own talent that made you who you are(were).
Who else is on a 'Mariah Carey live' UA-cam binge? Her music uplifts me even when I'm down. I never knew she did this song with Luther Vandross. Amazing!!!
I'm on a Luther binge..lol
@@kimberlee5985 Wow you just exposed me lol 😂😂😂
I feel so attacked! Haha
I'm binging Luther, can't talk
One of the most beautiful duets ever created.
I think it only loses to Rod Stewart and Amy Belle
RulezAPower lol Luther and Mariah’s vocal range and control crush Rod and Amy. Both amazing performances. But this is flawless.
Yes but the original with Lionel and Diana is untouchable sacred magic .
This song never grows old...it was my anniverssary song back in the 80s...my wife loved it...rest in peace my love
Yep my wife loves Luther or wedding songs always and forever. I lost her 2 yrs ago
Rest in peace and may she always be with you ❤
I am seriously like WTF. This was unbelievable! Two MAJOR power houses giving us a show and an unforgettable song!
Mariah's versatility in different music genres are incredible. She blends in easily
That's why she is the golden standard. And she's also the reason why we have pop hiphop collab. She's the ultimate crossover artist. Well it's because she was early exposed from classical to hiphop.
She is really amazing 😍 her interpretation of this song which I always link with Diana Ross is equally wonderful and I love it even more
She's biracial and fits perfectly.
She can sing anything, so many different genres and vocal styles in her discography. Unmatched
Luther here is like an echo from heaven on Mariah's wonderful voice. He sings to glorify Mariah's singing and he loves it too. Just superb duet!
you said it perfectly....its so beautiful...he's such a skilled and generous vocalist
He’s a perfect gentleman ❣️
Give me goosebumps ...forever my favourite song of them two .....

Mariah's voice is like butter...so smooth!
She looks like an Angel
I love it
What voices legendry and whitney
LUTHER IS UNMATCHED
The harmony between the two is beyond excellence. Brings shivers down my spine!
No one could EVER touch these two legends. One of the greatest duets of all time🙌🏻 RIP Luther Vandross 🕊
And more life to Mariah Carey, hope you live till you're old.
Luther's voice is velvet. The king of melisma. What a legend..
Our elders job is to school them. My kids (30 23) know Luther and his work
This is such a masterpiece! This is what the world needs desperately, Endless Love ❤
1:42, 2:55, those unnoticed high quality resonance OMG!!!!!!!!! Many singers couldn't even do that in the studio, yet she just throw them out as if she s just talking, impressive!!!
That's only a taste of her "head voice". She's much more
Mas Zezé de Camargo, fala sempre que ela tem uma voz horrível. Grita demais!! Não vou nem comentar, essa fala dele!! Me dói
And let's not forget the fact that this great duet was SANG LIVE by two of the GREATEST, BEST song artists of all time.
Yes, amazing!
