Greg used to be a drama teacher and this comedy is him well playing a drama teacher. Great show and brilliant cast. Rik is just awesome as always, an absolute legend gone way too soon.
I remember the first time I saw Greg Davies on the Tele and I was convinced he was Rik Mayalls love child glad the casting team thought so too perfection rip Drop Dead Fred 😢
The lizard planet "Toddcarty" is named for actor "Todd Carty", who starred in classic kids school drama "Grange Hill" back in 1978 - a generation of kids grew up with him and his character "Tucker". In that programme, the headmistress of the school "Mrs. McCluskey", was played by Gwyneth Powell, who plays Dan's mum in Man Down. Very meta.
I've just discovered your channel and spent all night binge watching your previous videos.. I love seeing your reactions, you're awesome! Easiest sub I've ever made 😁
Look up 'Pete and Bas'. They went into the Grime music scene etc (one of their grandsons or nephews got them into it), they are the real old school ones.
Greg tells a fun story about managing to get Rik Mayall to do the show... he randomly sniffed and made a face and Rick shouted at him and said 'oy, that's mine!'.
You do realise Shaun Of The Dead is part of the Cornetto Trilogy with Hot Fuzz and At Worlds End, And I would add the Series Spaced Out to that continuum. But Rik Mayall who Played the dad is definitely an actor you should take a look at if you can The Young Ones, Blackadder, Bottom, The Comic Strip, and The New Statesman are just some of the highlights.
I've mentioned the young ones on page before, Rick Mayle who plays the dad in the bear suit is in a crazy student house, it was made early 80s he is a poet, you have a punk, a hippy and a cool person who ain't cool, do it, 2 series 6 episodes each first episode of second series called bambi is best as they go on university challenge as scumbag college v footlights oxbridge
There were 3 movies made by the same team. The order they were filmed were Shaun of the Dead, Hot Fuzz, The Worlds End. They all stand alone but by far the best movie (ever) is Hot Fuzz. Some of the jokes are British centric but you will still enjoy them.
@@paulmidsussex3409 🤣🤣....It's definitely not Cats....and although Hot Fuzz IS laugh out loud funny, it's not that either. However, the scene where they're sat in the police car eating ice cream is brilliant.
Hi there, Your Majestys! I really enjoy watching your reactions to some of my fave comedy shows (have you watched "Bottom" yet starring Rik May all and Ade Edmondson and also look for Rik playing Lord Flash Heart in BlackAdder. My faves are Father Ted, Phoenix Nights, Bottom, Derry Girls, Man Down and Would I Lie to You (esp. BOB MORTIMER). Keep up the great work. You're a fantastic couple and I think Queen Boomer is lovely, All the best to you both. Stuart (Stockport, Uk)
You two are without doubt my fave couple on YT, its clear how much you love each other and its so so adorable and sweet. Man down is BRILLIANT cant wait til you get into later episodes, BONG !! without doubt " its not a baked potato" is the quote of the year from the lovely Queen B LoL
Another great episode (I don’t recall which series it was) is the dads club one where Greg replaces the baby with a surrogate ham just so he can join in.
I would love to see the two of you review the ‘Fry and Laurie’ Barman’s Sketch. It’s so laden with innuendos about men vs women relationships! plus I don’t think you done any Fry & Laurie yet? Would be nice to see an American reaction to Hugh Laurie NOT being ‘House’.
Hey there King and Queen Boomer. Love your videos back here in the UK. Just a couple of suggestions for you have you seen The Royle Family or Derry Girls? I’m sure you would love them.
He was a real teacher, drama teacher before he went full time into comedy/stand up. The dad with the kid is a well known person. Kind of a gangster in away, if I can use that term. But he went into acting, like some do when they don't want to be fully active anymore. Many UK movies and TV shows use the real deal.
Might not be the best idea to let Queen Boomer/Sister/Hired Actress see any more of Rik Mayall's "attacks" she will get ideas lol. You have to see the "Swingball" episode, it is required viewing lol.
Midnight wow... What job again? I forgot what Lady Boomer did, it was in a video once you were talking about her job but I can't remember. Nice to see you rewatching together though.
Greg Davies does a great bit of stand up about Space Mission and Karen powell as well (the karen in the drama class) kills me everytime (along with BagDhad ua-cam.com/video/LbOwaMme3-M/v-deo.html
Ashley McGuire, who plays Shakira the waitress in Bob's Cafe, was also the chip shop waitress in The Gentlemen & also plays the terrifying Big Mandy in another excellent comedy series "This Country", which you would both enjoy.
Drama lesson - one of my favourite classes when I was at Secondary School as it wasn't really learning in my opinion, it was basically just having fun.
18:55 That's because we can be real fucking Muppets too, Queen Boomer, associating all vacuum cleaners with one brand just because they were the first big manufacturer (or at least the most popular at the time), even though they do all sorts of appliances like washing machines and fridges. It's like using Google or Photoshop as a doing word, except that's even worse because those companies actually hate that everybody does it.
You should react to greg davies on the graham norton show with ryan gosling and jodie foster because the mums knickers part was partially based on a true story but even funnier than the show
Theres some truth to this episode. So Gregg used to be a drama teacher before he went into comedy and acting. He also went on a night out and go so drunk that in the morning, he somehow put on his mother underwear and went to work (school).
It's not a baked potato! haha. Great reaction as always. Please start the series Bottom at some point (I know you've watched a clip already). You'd both love it and it stars the dad in this show Rik Mayall (RIP to the absolute pan-global phenomenon).
Have you reacted to 'Rude Road Trip' - the 4 main Inbetweeners actors go on a reunion trips of locations they filmed at - i'm the original piss yellow fiat ;) - it's very funny
The ladies pants is based on a true event. Greg got drunk and went to School the next day. He found out during a recess he had accidentally put on his mum's underwear by mistake.
Queen Bee, forget being blonde, forget being a brunette, emrbace the Conspiracy Theorists and dye your hair ginger. THEN we'll have something really deep to debate on if you are brother and sister! lol jees Anyway! This was great, a sign of a great show when you watch it again within a short time just to see what Queen B will make of it! Thank you guys!
RIP Rik Mayall, the absolute legend
He was a British comedy legend. Drop dead Fred. You guys should do the Young Ones next
Need to watch some Bottom
Sir Richard Richard and Eddie Hitler .

"It's not a baked potato", classic quote! That should be all over merch!
For me, nothing tops Greg Davies doing an impression of Chris Ewebank on '8 Out of 10 Cats'.
The class he teaches was simply called ‘Drama Class’

Daddy bear was played by Rik Mayall. I almost pmsl watching him as Kevin Turvey. He was the High King of British comedy. A genius.
"The Man Behind the Green Door"!

THAT special move....

A very underrated comedy series. It didn't get a fraction of the hype of The Inbetweeners and Gavin and Stacey.

What's the name of that guy with the brown hair and glasses who runs that Aristocrat Tailoring shop at 19:36?
