Thank you for your videos. I have just started wearing soft 2 weekly lenses. I have astigmatism in my left eye. My optician (I'm in Scotland)didn't spot my astigmatism at first. He gave me 2 non astigmatism monthly lenses. They were awful. I was going to give up. I had always been told I couldn't wear contacts anyway. I then found your contact lense videos and that really helped. I went back to my optician and I told them that I needed to change my lenses. They were reluctant at first. I kept on at them. In the end a different optician checked my eyes and said that I did have an astigmatism. They then changed my lenses. If it wasn't for your videos I wouldn't be wearing contacts now and I would still be paying hundreds of pounds every 12 months for new glasses. I still get double vision in bright light. New sclera lens user with keratoconus here, at first it took me 12 tries to put in just one contact. It was very frustrating. Using the insertion tool was a big help. I am 69 years old and getting my new lenses pretty soon so I am watching training videos like yours. I wore rigid lenses back in the 70s through the 90s. In 1999 I had lasik surgery and only needed reading glasses. Two years ago I had cataract surgery for both eys and my left eye didn't do so well so I am being prescribed these new lenses. Thanks for this video.
Dr. Allen , All your videos are helpful and invaluable, especially for my dry eye life. Recently I've started to wear scleral lenses and your tutorial is not only clear but reassuring because it is a scary adventure to put those Huge lenses into small sensitive eyes. So glad you provided direction and answers for basic Scleral questions. Thank you! The sclerals do provide more crisp and clear vision than my soft contacts ( had to stop wearing soft contacts due to very dry eyes). They're almost great if not for the fogging/haze after wearing them for a hour or two.
Lili, could you please share your experience wearing scleral contact lens? I have very dry eyes and I have been using special eye drops non preservatives from my ophthalmologist for years. My glasses power is getting thicker that I dont feel comfortable wearing glasses. Iam trying to consider wearing these lens thank you!
The first time I wore my scleral lenses it took me over 2 hrs to put them on. What helped me the most is using a dmv tool with a hole under and putting a makeup mirror with a light underneath so the light shines through and i can see what im doing. So Don’t be discouraged, keep practicing and find what works for you. It now takes me 5 mins. It takes longer to set up everything i need.
Same! If it wasn’t for covid lockdown I would of never had the patience or time to master inserting them. I have developed a insertion technical of my own (very small eyes...sensitive and closed in 90 percent of pictures I take) but it took weeks to get it right. Everyone needs time and trial and error.
Just got my Contacts and it takes me about 2 hours to get them on I wanna say thank for your comment it’s nice to know I’m not alone in this ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
I see how u just repeated the video I just watched.?.could of avoided the growing annoying of his voice....but....at least I do admit that I never heard about that little tool. That is creepier than just kindly set it in your eye via fingers..any trouble with getting them in is due to over thinking it. But no one has said about that moment when they just go where they are and if they are all black it will cause a sudden panic that I u can't deal with but then u don't think bout them
Wow! I wish you were training the medical staff at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Eye Center. All of your suggestions for inserting and removing scleral lenses are better than what they showed me. At my next visit there, I am going to demonstrate your techniques to the head of Optometry. Thank you so much!
I've had scleral contact lenses for quite a few months now. Best decision I've ever made!!! They are super comfortable, to the point that I forget that I have contacts in! And I can see clearly now. Haha
I’m excited to get mine! I was using the rigid ones for years but after I had corneal cross linking, the doc recommended these and after I tried the test lenses, I can say they feel way more comfortable
I recently got a crosslinking procedure done and am waiting for a scleral lens fitting appointment. This video was very informative and I feel prepared for scleral lenses now. Thanks!
Thank you for posting this! I watched this video before my scleral lens appointment and was able to confidently insert and remove them within a couple of minutes.
Yesterday when I tried to remove it, I was all tense and jittery and panicked and well it didn't go so well. Ended up with a red eye. I wanted to give up but my family and friends gave me hope and I found this video and tried "upward and outward". Took me a few tries but I managed to break suction at one point and then hold and pull it out safely. Thank you. And if you're struggling, deep breaths, YOU CAN DO THIS. I still am scared but have optimism to try again tomorrow. 💜
Got diagnosed with karetoconus. After trialling various soft and rgp lenses for over a year. We finally tried scleral and ordered a trial pair because they were surprisingly comfortable. Especially compared to a rgp. I've never tried a scleral before, my optometrist did it for me for the trial. But I'm waiting for my appointment and I will use the tips from this video. Thank you.
You wont regret it , especially if rgps are uncomfortable for you. I have had mine for less than a week. Better vision quality and better comfortability@@denissecharles1
when removing, be sure to hold both top and bottom eyelids open just as you did when putting them on. This is because while removing, you may blink (just like he did in the video) while it's halfway out and cause the lens to hit your pupil which can be extremely painful.
I have been wearing scleral lenses for 1 week, I have keratoconus, and the vision is perfect and does not irritate the eyes like RGP. It looks like I'm not even wearing a lens.
@@vassago68 excuse the eavesdropping. my mini-schleral lens cost $950 AUD and the RGP was $550, the schleral is supposed to last me 2-3 years (pending eye change, which mine are stable after corneal graft years ago) Hopefully that was helpful :) I love the schleral too, its so comfy!
Getting mine next month…post Lasik AND PRK in my right eye with moderate/severe astigmatism 3 years ago. distance vision has been declining rapidly the last 6 months 20/25 to 20/70. 😫 Was told my cornea is very thin at 435. Doc said this sclera lens is my only option. I’ve had years of contacts prior to lasik but I’m kind of nervous for this! I’m so sad I thought my aid free vision was a forever thing 💔 Great video !
I’ve been following you for a while now due to wanting more info about dry eyes. I am getting fitting for scleral contacts and my own doctor sent me this video to watch before my appointment. Thanks for the great tips!
To everyone struggling, I put the plunger on the bottom, push up and out but do half turns to the left and right. Usually on the 2nd or 3rd attempt it comes out. I used to spend an hour and a half struggling.
A quick TIP for inserting the scleral lens, which in the end was the only way I succeded. Super challenging at first, but becomes natural with practice. Place a mirror onto a counter facing up. With your right hand (if you're right-haded), hold the DMV with your thumb and index fingers. Facing down into the mirror, use your 4th finger to pull your bottom eyelid down. With the index finger of your other (left) hand, pull up the top eyelid. While looking straight into the mirror, and as a consequence also into the lens, place the lens on your eye using the fingers holding teh DMV. Hope this helps.
Hey doc, just wanted to let you know how amazing this video is for patient education. We run a busy hard lens practice in regional Australia and I always show new scleral patients this video as an introduction and they are almost always able to insert first time after watching. Amazing stuff. Cheers Dan Thomson
I recently starting wearing sclera lenses and have been wasting a lot of time and saline solution in trying to get them in. What helped for me was that right before tilting my head into the lens, I open both my eyes. That helped me today at least.
Just came across your video. I’ve been scared to wear my lenses because they were applying pressure to my eyes, and it took a long time to insert without getting a bubble. After watching you I switched my technique and both went in without a problem and few comfortable.
Thank you. I have keratoconus and I was having the hardest time taking these lenses out of my eyes. often time I would feel like I was hurting my eye, but this video has helped me, significantly, in the removal of my sclera contacts.
Thanks for the video, it's excellent! As an alternative to the S5 Inserter stand (which is currently $399), you can put a drinking glass (one that lets light through) upside down and place the DMV plunger between the two sides of a normal pair of tweezers. Then you can hold your eye open with two hands, which makes insertion much easier and more reliable for me.
Thank you very much doctor! Thanks to your video i managed to put both my scleral in 10minutes Thanks for the confidence boost! Btw, how long before the eyes get used to wearing the lens? A couple of weeks in average? Thanks again! Cheers from Italy
Getting my lenses at the end of the month after a long wait. Now that it's actually happening I'm starting to get nervous, and your video is very helpful and reassuring.
First day with scleral lenses. 😎🤓 So far so good. I just have a little soreness from trying so many times but other than that I love my eyesight. It is way better than glasses. My optometrist recommended your videos.
I may be a little late to this video but the blurry vision is the most helpful part. I finally went and got my eyes checked and I’m getting lenses soon. Putting on the test lenses had things a little blurry so I was concerned about whether it worked or not but I really appreciate you telling me that!
Your videos are just so helpful. After some years I've finally decided to use contact lenses again. I didn't know there are special lenses like these. You're very informative, thank you for your work! :)
I had hard time putting this lens on. I bought a cheap $10 stand on Amazon and it works amazing. I've been using it for a month and I haven't had any issue putting it on. It takes me less than a minute to put it on now.
Thank You. that was helpful. However, I have trouble with removing the lens. I use the same plunger u r using in the video, and i usually aim to place it on the periphery to avoid excessive pull on the eye, however , it takes much pull despite all this. My concern is with keratoconus, the cornea is already weak enough and i don't wanna cause excessive coning with frequent use of the plunger. is there any other way to take it off without suction? like lateral displacement..etc?
Thanks! It was very helpful! I just got my scleral lenses today and I wasn’t very sure about if I listened well the instructions that my doctor gave me in the morning 🙏🏻
I’m so glad that I looked up this video… Thank you for all of the information. I had no idea that I had to have a special saline solution that was preservative free!! That’s not, knowledge, and I also have a background in wearing contact lenses. I just assumed it was regular saline that you used.
I am still in the fittings process of scleral lenses. The first pair they ordered for me were too tight and it was so uncomfortable. The second trial come this week. Thank you for the tips on how to put them on.
Hi, I’m new Got my first scleral lense today and doctor helped me insert it and said a few hours later I should get it out and rest the eye so I don’t strain it then try again and practice… I’ve just practiced for an hour straight tryna get it in and no success… I really am so bummed rn I think imma just head to bed early
I got my scleral lens 3 days ago for keratoconus. I feel like I went from a 1978 tv to the best TV on the market in 2022. The insertion process for my left eye has been frustrating. I think i may try that inserter tool. Thank you for this video and the advice
I had these scleral lenses. It's hard to insert but not painful. Of course eyes got so irritated with so much trial but we got them in (made my eyes so much comfortable). Got to practice how to insert them, I find removing them easy.
I've been wearing Scleral lenses for about 6 months ..best thing i have ever had does take some getting used to though and i have only just in the last 2 months been using Ami dose saline as anything else does sting a little, my only issue is trying to find a box case for them as my current one is getting old and the flat cases are not big enough 😑....really helpful video as im still trying to master putting them in without spilage!
I literally just had my first lesson and try out today at my opto. In the process of being ordered to custom fit me. So the only part of this video that was different than what they told me today was, when you make contact with the eye when inserting to then squeeze the plunger. In this video this doctor didn't say that. Also they didn't tell me I could cut the bottom of the plunger to make it easier to see the center of it which I find very useful and smart.
This was so helpful I wasn’t not given really any instructions on how to use my new large lens and I have to have them due to my cornea thinning at a rapid rate and they have been very hard to get use to !
Such great information. I have very strong eyelids so I'm saving up for the S5 Scleral Lens Inserter. I should have bought it first before I got my contact lenses
Thanks for the tips! I lost my vision in my left eye, so I don't know how to use the "light through the DMV" with that one. Any tips on positioning that? Basically just a mirror?🤔😄
Thank you i was taught the push on the bottom of the lense method and it was killing me took for ever only had the lenses for 7 days and was struggling you are a life saver
i really dont use that tool for my scleral lenses rather i usee my hands instread of the tool my doctor gave me,, but he gave me a technique on using my hands since he notice that my hands are my tool putting the scleral lenses, and it took me 3 hours to put my lenses in and it was so worth it and my follow up is on september 12 and i was suffering blurry vision for 3 years couldn't see anything and yesterday I'm able to see everything so clear and all that blurry vision went away, made me happy so much, no more going near on the tv, can finally play videos games, and etc... proud of my scleral lenses.
Question: do you rinse the soaking solution off with saline before filling the lens with more saline and inserting; or, do you just take the lens out of the soaking solution, fill the lens, and insert? I've been told both things and am having such a hard time with them that I can't tell if one way is better than the other. Please help!
This really helped as newbie. I have had keratoconus for 15 years now. Glasses have normally helped. But I wanted to go with out them. My eye doctor in the Uk gave me one of these for my bad left eye. But a soft one for my right. Do you suggest this?

Thank you so much your video was so helpful this is the first day my contact lens has arrived and i feel a little bit discomfort with it but i hope your video will help me too much
Thank you, thank you, thank you. Today is my first day wearing Scleral. I could not get them out and was starting to panic. Thought about going to ER to get help to get them out. Finally calmed down enough and thought to google how to get them out. My Doctor had a staff member spending a couple hours with me putting them in and taking them out. They don't let you leave with them until you can do that. I still couldn't get them out initially and panicked.
Super helpful, thank you very much , I just knew that i have to use a free preservative artificial tears to fill the lens before putting it in. I used to fill it with solution before putting it in. Also i just knew the technic of how to remove it easier way. You are the first to tell me that . Thank u alot
I was taught a slightly different technique for removal. Without this technique I did have trouble removing initially because I’d create suction too close to the center, then the lens would slide around my eye without coming out, at least not without a struggle. The removal trick that’s worked right away every time since I was taught goes like this: Once the remover device has been placed on the bottom third of the lens, at center, and you have suction, use what I’ll call a J maneuver. What’s that? First pull down, then out, then up, as if you are drawing a letter J in the air. It’s been working brilliantly.
In Austria we don‘t use the scleral lenses, so what is the positiv and negative side from these lenses. For me, it is harder to put the lenses into the eyes. I hope you understand my bad english. And I hope you can answer my question.😅
got these for my keratoconus last week. its soooooooooo much better than rgp lenses. best lenses iv ever used. i think they are quite easy to put in actually, but harder to get them out. especially without the rubber tool. (sorry dont know the name in english)

I just got scleral contact lenses three weeks ago this video was immensely helpful in getting them in and out and I do see much better in them. They are however a lot different than regular Rigid gas permeable lenses and it did take me a while
How much difference is there between the vision quality of rgp and scleral lens? Also, does the initial vision after wearing scleral lens gets better overtime? I just got my scleral lens and it seems the RGP lens I used to wear prior to it gave be comparably superior vision.
I got my Scleral lenses almost 2 weeks ago. Since then i've managed to put them on once. I try everyday for 10-30 minutes... It's just so hard because my vision is so poor from before so i have no idea when the lens is even close to my eye or in the center.
@@MegaDw2010 I use the method at 3:30 in the video, but instead of buying the retractable rod shown in the video, i simply just put the suction cup on a table, put the lens on it, and put it on that way. This way i can use both hands to hold my eye lid open while i SLOWLY push down on the lens. Hope this was helpful.
I'm a new patient using scleral lenses. As everyone new to this is a big challenge to insert the lenses, BUT it also is difficult for me to see if there is any small air bubble left inside the lens. I have to shine the light on my cellphone on my eye, but it's not an effective process because if I'm in a room with natural light I'm missing the bubbles, if i move to a darker room, I can catch them. Me eye doctor suggested this lens to me but she isn’t certain that I can use them with the plate in eye lid. What are your thoughts about wearing this type of lenses? I wish I lived in your area.
Thanks a lot for the video. My eyes get red with a specific brand of scleral lenses. Another brand does not cause red eyes but provides blurry vision. Can the lenses material cause a kind of allergic reaction or can it be the solution which cause redness?
i recently had a procedure done on both my eyes for keratoconus and now i have to wear these lenses. I had a fitting done so I figure I'd watch this video to see how to put these in properly
putting them in i've got! sometimes they stubbornly take a bit to remove, though. i've found that using lubricating drops beforehand can help a little.

I have the same thing, but only one transplant on my right eye and have a scar on my left from cross linking.... was kinda wanting a second surgery because these lenes are really hard for me to get in and i see halos and floaters and streaks of light
@@ItzsDev try different brands maybe.
I'm using Rose K2 XL made with Menicon Z. No complaints.
@@TitusRex well I currently don't have money for new lenses the ones I got were 3k and I am still having trouble getting them in so I might just have to deal with my eye sight
I am 69 years old and getting my new lenses pretty soon so I am watching training videos like yours. I wore rigid lenses back in the 70s through the 90s.
In 1999 I had lasik surgery and only needed reading glasses. Two years ago I had cataract surgery for both eys and my left eye didn't do so well so I am being prescribed
these new lenses.
Thank you for sharing!! 💯💯💯👍🏻👍🏻
I have been trying for over a month with no luck... :(
Same! If it wasn’t for covid lockdown I would of never had the patience or time to master inserting them. I have developed a insertion technical of my own (very small eyes...sensitive and closed in 90 percent of pictures I take) but it took weeks to get it right. Everyone needs time and trial and error.
Just got my Contacts and it takes me about 2 hours to get them on I wanna say thank for your comment it’s nice to know I’m not alone in this
❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Haha
Did I used to use hard lenses are the comfortable ?
I’m excited to get mine! I was using the rigid ones for years but after I had corneal cross linking, the doc recommended these and after I tried the test lenses, I can say they feel way more comfortable
I got mine last year December and it changed my entire life I went from being so blind to being able to see so beautifully and so clear. ❤
I recently got a crosslinking procedure done and am waiting for a scleral lens fitting appointment. This video was very informative and I feel prepared for scleral lenses now. Thanks!
I've been for mine but now they say I need reading glasses too. Go figure. How are you coming along?

Great job!
Thank you.
I was diagnosed with it at 22, I just turned 30 and I'm so scared to try them. RGP is all I know
You wont regret it , especially if rgps are uncomfortable for you.
Thank you ♥️
This is the problem I have. I end with red painful eyes, even painful to the touch
I have been wearing scleral lenses for 1 week, I have keratoconus, and the vision is perfect and does not irritate the eyes like RGP.
It looks like I'm not even wearing a lens.
Can I ask what the average cost is for you, and expected length of use for 1 pair of lenses?
Im the same way the rgp lenses was just to hard to get in! Sclerals are so comfortable
@@vassago68 excuse the eavesdropping. my mini-schleral lens cost $950 AUD and the RGP was $550, the schleral is supposed to last me 2-3 years (pending eye change, which mine are stable after corneal graft years ago)
Hopefully that was helpful :)
I love the schleral too, its so comfy!
My brotha! I’m in the same spot. So glad I found out about these.
I have keratoconus and an astigmatism in my left eye
Getting mine next month…post Lasik AND PRK in my right eye with moderate/severe astigmatism 3 years ago.
distance vision has been declining rapidly the last 6 months 20/25 to 20/70. 😫 Was told my cornea is very thin at 435. Doc said this sclera lens is my only option. I’ve had years of contacts prior to lasik but I’m kind of nervous for this! I’m so sad I thought my aid free vision was a forever thing 💔
Great video !
Same here
I’ve been following you for a while now due to wanting more info about dry eyes.
Thanks for sharing!!!
Hey doc, just wanted to let you know how amazing this video is for patient education. We run a busy hard lens practice in regional Australia and I always show new scleral patients this video as an introduction and they are almost always able to insert first time after watching. Amazing stuff.
Cheers
Dan Thomson
I recently starting wearing sclera lenses and have been wasting a lot of time and saline solution in trying to get them in. What helped for me was that right before tilting my head into the lens, I open both my eyes. That helped me today at least.
Just came across your video. I’ve been scared to wear my lenses because they were applying pressure to my eyes, and it took a long time to insert without getting a bubble. After watching you I switched my technique and both went in without a problem and few comfortable.
You make it look easy it consistently hits my eyelids when I put them in and it takes me 2 hours to put them in
😂😂
I had help from my family the first time and my dad straped me down so i can put them on xD
😂
Same bro
How long does it take now
Best video I have seen. Thank you. It is so hard to find out how to use these.
Wow, your detailed instructions really helped me. I was almost ready to give up. 😃
Glad I could help!
Thank you. I have keratoconus and I was having the hardest time taking these lenses out of my eyes. often time I would feel like I was hurting my eye, but this video has helped me, significantly, in the removal of my sclera contacts.
What is cost of sclera lens plz rply
Thanks for the video, it's excellent! As an alternative to the S5 Inserter stand (which is currently $399), you can put a drinking glass (one that lets light through) upside down and place the DMV plunger between the two sides of a normal pair of tweezers. Then you can hold your eye open with two hands, which makes insertion much easier and more reliable for me.
Thank you very much doctor! Thanks to your video i managed to put both my scleral in 10minutes
Thanks for the confidence boost!

Can u please share link of the inserter tool u found on Amazon
Most helpful piece of information was cutting the bottom of the “plunger”. Very useful tip!
I just got sclerals yesterday. This is a very helpful video. Thank you.
I got scleral lenses having a tough time putting them in a little nervous
The adding enough saline solution to lens makes a difference. Thank you!
Thank You. that was helpful.
@How to make did you find out
Did you ever find out a solution
How are they?
How did you know yours were too tight?
Hi, I’m new
Got my first scleral lense today and doctor helped me insert it and said a few hours later I should get it out and rest the eye so I don’t strain it then try again and practice… I’ve just practiced for an hour straight tryna get it in and no success… I really am so bummed rn I think imma just head to bed early
Thank you, I’ve been using a hybrid lens for my left eye for 4 days now and it’s a pain removing it. I will try this method next time!
Has it become easier using this method ??
I've been wearing Scleral lenses for about 6 months ..best thing i have ever had does take some getting used to though and i have only just in the last 2 months been using Ami dose saline as anything else does sting a little, my only issue is trying to find a box case for them as my current one is getting old and the flat cases are not big enough 😑....really helpful video as im still trying to master putting them in without spilage!
Nice video! Very professional. I’m glad I found your channel I have watched your contacts video and they helped a lot
Had my fitting today and I’m excited to get them.
Random but the popping sensation was satisfying when the person took it off for me.
Thanks so much for posting this video. I've got my first appointment this afternoon and I'm pretty stressed out.
Can you please suggest MPS CRYSTAL SOLUTION is good for this scleral lenses
Great demo of insertion and removal! Thx!😄
You are so welcome! Glad it was helpful!
I've ordered scleral lens today and it will come in 2 weeks
Hope I will learn to use it smoothly

Thank you so much your video was so helpful this is the first day my contact lens has arrived and i feel a little bit discomfort with it but i hope your video will help me too much
Thank you, thank you, thank you. Today is my first day wearing Scleral. I could not get them out and was starting to panic. Thought about going to ER to get help to get them out. Finally calmed down enough and thought to google how to get them out. My Doctor had a staff member spending a couple hours with me putting them in and taking them out. They don't let you leave with them until you can do that. I still couldn't get them out initially and panicked.
Everyone can get lost in your eyes, doc! ✨
truly.
Super helpful, thank you very much , I just knew that i have to use a free preservative artificial tears to fill the lens before putting it in. I used to fill it with solution before putting it in. Also i just knew the technic of how to remove it easier way. You are the first to tell me that . Thank u alot
Is ok if I adjust it too tight on the eye?! Or it would affect the endothelium to retain fluid ! Hence making it infected ?!
I was taught a slightly different technique for removal. Without this technique I did have trouble removing initially because I’d create suction too close to the center, then the lens would slide around my eye without coming out, at least not without a struggle.
The removal trick that’s worked right away every time since I was taught goes like this:
Once the remover device has been placed on the bottom third of the lens, at center, and you have suction, use what I’ll call a J maneuver. What’s that? First pull down, then out, then up, as if you are drawing a letter J in the air. It’s been working brilliantly.
Love your videos and tips. I am having difficulties to insert it without bubbles. I would love to see a video about it. Any tips?
I finally found this lecture. Thank you!
This was helpful, can I use the inserting and removing stick for regular eye contacts?
In Austria we don‘t use the scleral lenses, so what is the positiv and negative side from these lenses. For me, it is harder to put the lenses into the eyes. I hope you understand my bad english. And I hope you can answer my question.😅
Wearing these lenses for the first time, I do have keratoconus. It's been an absolute nightmare but hopefully I learn quick
Thanks! Just got these contacts. I’ve been diagnosed with kerataconis(spelling is probably wrong😂). But this video helped put me at ease.
Dr the video was very helpful, specially the removing part...kenya
got these for my keratoconus last week. its soooooooooo much better than rgp lenses. best lenses iv ever used. i think they are quite easy to put in actually, but harder to get them out. especially without the rubber tool. (sorry dont know the name in english)
I went in for my fitting today. I also have your eye condition and went in for cross linking. Is it true that you see way better with them instead of wearing glasses? I’m excited to see perfect for once in my life hah

Hi I am getting glasses soon so thank you for the tricks and tips
Just curious if it has gotten easier for you to insert the scleral lenses since 5 months ago?

@@LieZFTW that's great to hear! I am encouraged. Thanks.
@@LieZFTW I recently review my lenses and it’s still difficult to put them in and out. How did you improve? Just practice?
My question for you Dr. Allen, is if you could share where to get that blue/purple light that you are shining on the video to spot the bubbles. Thank you for all your work and your videos are of great help.
I advise y’all watch this video before you get your lenses it helped me a bunch and my doctor was surprised how fast I learned how to insert my lenses second visit they felt comfortable with me inserting
I'm glad to hear it went well for you. Thank you!
Thank You ever so much for such a detailed and easy-to-understand video Doctor Allen! You are my savior! This video has really motivated me to keep trying. Removal of my new scleral lens still give me sweat
Hello dr. Allen, I tried to cut the DMV plunger's edge and it didnt create the suction with the lense anymore. I am not sure if there is somthing I did wrong, but I did it based on your instructions.
Greetings Dr. Allen. I found your channel to be very helpful. And i think that scleral lenses should help best for keeping eyes hydrated versus dry eyes disease. But can you buy scleral lenses without doctor prescription? Maybe those color-changing (helloween) scleral lenses suit for this?
Great question! No, scleral lenses do need to be fit with a doctor. Sclera Halloween lenses unfortunately will most likely make dry eyes worse.
Question about these hard lenses: Can the hard lenses slow down the progression of keratoconus ?
Hello, does the cleaner need to be preservative free??
Question…. I have Palsy to left side of my face. Left eye has a eyelid platinum plate inserted in the eye lid. I have been battling extreme dry eye and blurry vision.
Thank you. After a stressful hour, I got them in first try-not even exaggerating.
i recently had a procedure done on both my eyes for keratoconus and now i have to wear these lenses. I had a fitting done so I figure I'd watch this video to see how to put these in properly
Great demonstration , very clear and helpful !
Getting my lens soon thanks for this video
Hey doctor, do we get mgd after using sclerals?
Question, when you don't have a mirror underneath, how do you know where to stop pushing the lens? I.e. what should I feel or see? Thanks!
putting them in i've got! sometimes they stubbornly take a bit to remove, though. i've found that using lubricating drops beforehand can help a little.
Thank you ao much I finally got it on my own all thanks to you great teacher
I keep getting eye ulcers from my hybrid lenses, I might have to go to these lenses. My optometrist has recommended these instead. Are they gas permeable?
Love the vids !! but would you recommend a plunger for daily disposable contacts ?
