Very informative video. I appreciate all the useful information. It's very difficult to find a good source of info on RGP lenses as so many places mostly focus on soft lenses. And when it comes to finding (RGP contact lens) solution, it's pretty slim pickings. Something I was wondering about: Is spectacle blur a common occurrence when first adjusting to RGP lenses? I notice that when I take out my RGPs, my vision with my glasses is blurred. Well let me explain more… On my second day of wearing my lenses I wore them for around 11 hours and when I took them out my vision was blurred with my glasses for the remainder of the night. It went away in the morning, and I thought maybe 11 hours was too long to do so soon, so now I am doing shorter periods of time and increasing gradually each day. I have not had the spectacle blur to the same severity as I had after 11 hours of wear. Today for example, after 5 hours of wear, I had blurred vision with my glasses maybe only for 10-15 minutes. Another concern of mine is that I notice I can see the edges of the lens in my eye and my vision around the edge of the lens is somewhat blurred, and its especially prominent at night where I get a lot of glare from lights. It's difficult to explain but basically anything in my peripheral vision seems a bit blurred out. Tho anything I look at and focus on directly I can see crystal clear, even better than with my glasses. I wondered if the diameter was a bit small but my doctor said increasing the size might not be a good idea. Maybe this is just how RGP lenses are?
I have the same issue at night. My vision in peripheral I can see the edge of my rgp and I get very blurry vision then if I focus straight on my vision goes back to normal. But a recent visit to my eye doc he decided I needed an adjustment to my rgp I am a first time rgp wearer so it’s only been a month for me. Glad I wasn’t the only one. I honestly won’t go back to soft lenses. Vision with rgp is so clear and soft lenses don’t fit well since I had pkr done and severely flattened my cornea
Me too I am experiencing the same thing with my hybrid lens. I am going to go back to my optometrist and let her know I'm experiencing the same as you. Another idea I have is to try to get a intralimbal rgp lens. They are larger and will give you better peripheral vision since they are a larger diameter. They pretty much are the size of your Iris. 11 to 12.5 mm diameter
Hi there - thank you for your kind words. I am considered a high myope with around a -7.00D prescription. I do use contact lenses - will be starting to wear them more often as the weather becomes warmer and I spend more time outdoors. I am also preparing to be fitted for a specialty lens myself - scleral lens. :) Hope you are doing well
Why would hybrid lenses not always be a better option than RGP? I have ultrahealths on order and am a first time contact wearers for KC. What are some downsides or complications of hybrids? Thank you.
Are there any eye drops I can use while wearing sclerals? I just got the Europa sclerals but I get that crazy 3 & 9 redness with dry eyes. I've been using the unpreserved saline for rewetting while using them. I have my first follow up later today.

Hi , you look lovely in your glasses. What kind of prescription do you have? Do you not use contact lenses?

Your presentation is really helpful, but the background music is really annoying. Just talk. NO music, please.
