This was funny, but I will have to disagree with Angel on this one. Love Jones showed us how NOT communicating properly could ruining relationships, and when things don't get resolved it could have a negative impact. Case in point, Darius and Nia are kicking it, and she wants to know if she still loves her ex. First, if she is confused if she is still in love with the ex, then she is not in love with the ex. Second, when she told Darius, it bothered him and he didn't want her to go, but he played it cool like he didn't care, which made Nia feel some type of way. When she got back, she didn't even call Darius until the next day. Darius couldn't stand the fact she left and to mend his broken ego he started kicking it with an old flame. All they had to do was just be honest and upfront about their feelings but that was too much like right lol. The third example was when they got together and Darius was still receiving calls from the girl he was kicking it with when Nia wasn't there. They talked about it but Nia didn't believe it was over due to the phone calls and how Darius didn't really go into detail about it. There was a trust issue that they couldn't get past, or really didn't know how to at the time. They had terrible communication problems, and while Nia was shifting into stagnation Darius was writing his tail off. The one thing Angel did have a point was how Darius got her information. Now, it is the early 90s and common sense would tell you that if a stranger comes to your door to not open it. So, they lost some points for that. But I never thought spoken word would make you fall in love....it was just used as flirting to get each other's attention. Just saying...

Ya'll kill me with this narrative like ppl don't make mistakes! Esp in your 20s. They were young & stupid. They didn't know how to communicate, it happens! Trust issues, it happens. Did they make the best decisions? Hell no! But let's not act like ppl don't breakup & makeup a few times before getting it together! Now I'm not saying to put up with cheating & bs either! Nina walked her ass right on out the door on her own two when Darnell from Girlfriends started tripping bout that damn cereal! Love Jones was about smart, upwardly mobile young black ppl tryna make it work. I aint got no problems with that!
As someone who’s babysitters were Class Act, Love Jones, etc. I must say I had to UNLEARN so much of what was romanticized in these movies and recognize that it’s not what I want or deserve in my life 😂
The story and writing was A1. Character development was solid. As a cinema it was great, while I agree it doesn’t promote a healthy relationship you will NOT say it’s trash
I didn't like it either Angel. I remember after a night out, my friends and I put it on because I had never seen it. It did absolutely nothing for me. I was like I'm about to fall asleep. This is boring! 😂
It's always so interesting when something is so successful that people can get lots of views from trashing it. I don't think the movie was about how life should be. It was a black movie that wasn't about gangs, or poverty. It was showing light and sweet were part of the black experience too.
I barely remember Love and Basketball. I think I slept through most of the second and third acts. Love Jones was an independent film. Alot of independent films weren't happy movies.
People in their 20's are not all together they are figuring it out. They are flawed, they make mistakes, they learn, they try again. LOVE 👏🏽 JONES 👏🏽 IS 👏🏽 AWESOME 👏🏽
I just finished watching Love Jones. Love Jones is a great movie. Relationships are not perfect. It is a great movie, Lorenz Tate's character had to work just to get a date. Where is the romance in movies now? There is no romance, sliding into someone DM's is not romantic. The character did not just write poetry, he was well rounded, an educated black man.
Love Jones was my favorite movie as a teenager! What other movie was about a Black woman who had dope friends and made romantic decisions solely based on what SHE wanted? I grew up in church, so Love Jones felt like women's lib 😂🤭
Angel is DEFINITELY right...I finally saw this movie for the 1st time on Netflix a few months ago...and I was baffled..this movie did not live up to the hype at All...I don't understand whyyyy it's a classic
As a cinematic story it was great. I think we can all agree their relationship was bad. BUT how many movies are there if everything goes well. The highs and lows of the two main characters were good. I think people take the storytelling out a movie when they use logic and try to make things realistic in which the writers/directors didn’t necessarily intend it to be
Not even gonna lie, the part when he got her address was mad sketchy. It always rubbed me the wrong way

“ you saw the potential what a beard could do for him” Tahir has me laughing so hard. Stop it I’m at work 😂🤣
😲😲😲 Angel's blasphemies almost make you not like her....I almost can't take it 🤪.
When I was younger I didn't appreciate Love Jones as much; I didn't get it. It wasn't until I became older and experienced love that I understood. The vibe, cinematography, and music of the film is also great.
I would have said LOVE and Basketball before I said this. Even though she's right. This is blasphemous
Definitely Love and Basketball
Love and Basketball is definitely messier!
Oh no, gone toooooo far!
@@RellaSemmone it's true tho. Monica deserved better. They turned her into a pick me at the end.
Totally agree.. Love and Baseball is a horrible movie.
She doesn’t even have to explain herself...I already agree with her. Love Jones was definitely overrated.
Big 🧢
Tahir is hilarious!!!! 😂😂😂😂😂😂
"This is a picture of you and yo husband!" lmaoooo yo tahir had me dead 😂😂💀💀
Too funny 😂
Tahir brought up receipts!!! 🤣🤣😭
As someone who’s babysitters were Class Act, Love Jones, etc. I must say I had to UNLEARN so much of what was romanticized in these movies and recognize that it’s not what I want or deserve in my life 😂
Man yaw buggin love Jones is and will always be a masterpiece
Tahir been in his bag!!! Again with the masterful setup and delivery with the pic on deck!!!
The story and writing was A1. Character development was solid. As a cinema it was great, while I agree it doesn’t promote a healthy relationship you will NOT say it’s trash
DEFUND ANGEL!! Now I can’t believe anything she says.... j/k She lowkey right, but that’s MY MOVIEEE!!!
I agree. I'm a hood cinema expert apparently.
I love your hood movie recaps! They have me dying!
@@eraynawoodward2616 😂😂😂 Thanks!! You a allstar!! ⭐⭐⭐⭐
Awww Sh@t! I’m an allstar! I’m official!
I love your work lol.
Omg. You gotta review Love Jones 😂😂😂😩
ANGEL!!! What 👏🏾 we👏🏾 not 👏🏾 gone 👏🏾 do 👏🏾 is👏🏾 come 👏🏾 for 👏🏾 Love Jones👏🏾!!!
I didn't like it either Angel. I remember after a night out, my friends and I put it on because I had never seen it. It did absolutely nothing for me. I was like I'm about to fall asleep. This is boring! 😂
Some movies u have to see at that time. If u go back and watch most older movies u would think they wasnt that great
TheKiid810 Nah I saw it when it first came out...I still went to sleep lol 😆
Did you notice how fast Keon started blinking when Angel said, "take Love Jones off the shelf and put it in the trash"? lmao
Angel's on her own with this one, her argument doesn't hold. Love Jones ain't going nowhere.
I wonder when did Angel lose her soul. LOL. Love Jones was a very well balance film.
I'm tellin y'all, Angel needs to be on Black Blasphemy.
Angel, 1:05 mins in, I'm like... I need to rewatch Love Jones with adult eyes cuz sis went offffff and I know we be deserving🙌🏾
It's always so interesting when something is so successful that people can get lots of views from trashing it.
I don't think the movie was about how life should be. It was a black movie that wasn't about gangs, or poverty. It was showing light and sweet were part of the black experience too.
NO Angel, just No.
At least she didn't say the soundtrack was trash - we would have to fight!!!!
Ok now I was feeling Angel until this. Now Its time to go back to the drawing board.
“Defund Angel” part had me rollin 😂😂😂😂😂😂
I’d like to add Love and Basketball!
I just said that before I saw this. That movie is awful, story wise
Yes yes yes yes
I barely remember Love and Basketball. I think I slept through most of the second and third acts.
Love Jones was an independent film. Alot of independent films weren't happy movies.
I stand with Angel ! It was a toxic mess
Now this is BLASPHEMOUS!!! Love Jones is my FAVORITE romantic film of all time. Definitely in my top 5 fav movies!!
I agree for once. I can't physically seat thru the whole movie without dosing off.
The more Tahir speaks, the more I realize how low the bar is set for black men.
Kev's laughter makes Tahir's investigation all the better 🤣🤣🤣
Nina (Nia Long’s character) created most of the problems. Tbh.
I yelled so hard when Tahir showed that photo!! 🤣🤣🤣🤗
Nia longs character was the true messy character in that movie
Angel said “it might as well have been Frozen” 😂😂😂
Totally agree. That and Brown Sugar. Dumpster Juice.
Love Jones was my favorite movie as a teenager! What other movie was about a Black woman who had dope friends and made romantic decisions solely based on what SHE wanted? I grew up in church, so Love Jones felt like women's lib 😂🤭
If she said Love and Basketball, I'd understand. But Love Jones?
Why did Tahir do Angel like that 😩😂🤣
Tahir is such a mood lol but she right
Has anyone ever noticed that almost all Hallmark movies romanticize cheating and turn it into a "happily ever after" at the end?
The cinematography and the soundtrack made it memorable
Angel is DEFINITELY right...I finally saw this movie for the 1st time on Netflix a few months ago...and I was baffled..this movie did not live up to the hype at All...I don't understand whyyyy it's a classic
Welp. I'm about to get swarmed on. I've never seen the movie all the way through.
@@AudioGAWD 😂😂😂😂 it took me two tries to watch as I kept falling asleep...
@@mia8009 I didn't even know about the movie until this rapper Sha Stimuli did a mixtape themed around it 🤦♂️
As a cinematic story it was great. I think we can all agree their relationship was bad. BUT how many movies are there if everything goes well. The highs and lows of the two main characters were good. I think people take the storytelling out a movie when they use logic and try to make things realistic in which the writers/directors didn’t necessarily intend it to be
Guess it's one of those "had to be there" type movies. I was there however, I hated it.
I agree. I hate Love Jones. 🤮🤮🤮
That Love Jones soundtrack was so good. And it was filmed in the Chi so I’m biased lol. I love that movie. Toxic relationships lol.
I saw the title and thought to myself who????!!! My heart was torn when I played it and heard Angel talking. Why sis??!! Why?
I have to watch this over again just to see y’all’s first reactions. That was so good.
I wholeheartedly agree. “Love Jones” was definitely trash.
Tahir... Really went down her timeline like that...Respect
