"I would hear about these overly obsessed anime fans with their toy collections and body pillows and I could never picture myself becoming one of them" Lmao SO accurate. I think if myself from 5 years ago saw me today and found out that I own anime figurines and a body pillow, he would've killed me for sure. I went from thinking: "How can people actually buy things like this?" to "Of course I'm gonna buy a body pillow, WHY WOULDN'T I?". I think maybe I just stopped taking life seriously at one point, but man am I glad I got into anime after years of looking at it in disgust. So worth it.
Now we wait for Steins;???(A sequel or third season). The third season or sequel to Steins Gate will come out in 2024 and we have to wait until the 27th October to hear more about Steins;???
I also enjoy Steins;gate 0 more because I really like the development they give to the characters and because this show touches my heart much more, there are many feelings and there are always chapters that make me cry like 16. In addition to having moments very epic like when he does 3000 jumps, the farewell to Amadeus, the return to the Alpha line and much more.
There's actually some very good side content, too, for Steins;Gate that adds some context, and some new context to the original story like a manga from Kurisu's perspective. I'd highly recommend some of them if you dont want to say goodbye to the characters yet.
Steins Gate still on my top list anime and when the new generation ask what anime to watch I always recommend them Steins Gate, yes the anime is slow at first but its like knowing a person you slowly get to know them before falling in love thats why Steins Gate will still be list in my top list of anime. El Psy Congroo
Steins; gate is one of the best, it was also hard to get over after watching. This really makes me want to rewatch it again. Best music & Best anime ever also VN !! Will there be the reaction for Movie & OVA's as well?
Steins;Gate 0 is like the 2nd season of Attack on Titan for me. Everything was a little more confusing and slow. But it does have that moment when Okabe Rintaro, the sad college student, turns back into Houuin Kyouma, the mad scientist, just like how I will always adore the 2nd season of aot because of the "Warrior" episode. I enjoyed this video a lot!
Thank you for this video. I'm on the minority who enjoys what Steins Gate 0 offers on expanding the context of Steins Gate universe. Mayuri became an amazing core character and everytime she appears in the episode, she actually both broke my heart and strengthen it at the same time. Also as you said, Kagari is a core element that makes Mayuri's character have even more dimension. Again, thank you for this video, your enthusiasm touched my heart and brought me back to the nostalgic era of following this series, happy to experience it again with you. El PSY CONGROO
I think another VN based anime you would really enjoy is Clannad. The main show of Clannad is honestly hard to get in to. The artstyle is weird and outdated, the show feels old and doesn't feel like it has any main conflict or resolution, and it definitely doesn't have the grandiosity of the Steins;Gate story, but watching the show you can really tell why its loved. Clannad also has a "season 2", Clannad afterstory which is considered one of the best slice-of-life anime of all time. I don't know if my words can do this show justice or even get you to consider reacting to it, but its something I feel like you would really enjoy as a show (Especially season 2).
You gained my immediate respect when mentioning that anime is not a genre, it’s a medium. It sometimes feels that discussion around anime and manga and western media and comics by either in-person, online, or even by content creators is that they treat these things completely differently. Some would say that manga is superior to comics due to misunderstandings and lack of knowledge on any company that isn’t Marvel or DC (although I love myself some DC comics). You’ll have others say that they dislike anime, and proceed to explain that they don’t like some of the tropes present in some. Media is media, Eastern and Western media have their differences, however it is not THAT different. Sorry that I over explained there, the video was awesome, you gained a subscriber, and keep doing what you’re doing.
There are many great anime series out there, many I would say "omg it's a masterpiece!" when complimenting it, but only one show deserves the masterpiece title, only one show would I mean it literally when I call it a masterpiece, and that is Stein's Gate. It's something you won't understand unless you watch the entire series yourself. After you've done so, no matter if you like it or not, you can't deny that it's a masterpiece, because this is a fact, this is how incredible this story is.
Love, love how you're making in-depth videos for anime too, as someone who's enjoyed your gaming videos like this for a while (i'm laflume). Keep it up man!
The first time I watched Steins;Gate, I watched Zero directly afterwards, and I ended up rating Zero higher than the original. I've since grown to love the original more, and having played the visual novels now, it's so interesting how they adapted Zero into one coherent storyline. It's much more branchy than the original's VN. Some of my favorite parts of Zero's anime aren't even in the VN...
Your reactions to the series have been great and I've loved seeing your thoughts and breakdowns on everything, I'm not sure if this would be up your alley, but there is a lot more content within the universe of steins gate if you ever want to visit it since it is hard to let go of these characters lol, its just in visual novel format since that's what steins gate was adapted from. Sg was the second game in a shared universe starting with chaos head noah, its a very intricately woven narrative between all these games building up to something big, but the anime cut out all these connection to make it a standalone thing.
I would like you to introuduce you to bigger universe within Steins;gate, Science Adventure series. SciAdv for short are series of visual novels with pseudo science base like Steins Gate but they all explore differend subjects. There are 8 mainline games. Chaos;Head, Steins;Gate, Robotics;Notes, Chaos;Child, Steins;Gate 0, Robotics;Notes Dash and 2 more Occultic;Nine(doesnt have ending yet) and Anonymus;Code(With Steins;??? anonunced). Like I said they are all in same universe and have connections like big bad guy, Committee of 300. If you love S;G you will love them, they all are very good and like you i started with S;G and got introuduced in this big world. El Psy Kongroo.
@@RobinoyoReacts A minor side note: S;G 0 and R;N DaSH are considered side stories despite being in the mainline continuity/"canon". Also I really recommend reading the rest as well, especially Chaos;Head NoAH since it was released before Steins;Gate and many parts of Steins;Gate's story is very molded around Chaos;Head. And Chaos;Head is a phenomenal story and is very unique even in its own series. I love every story and personally believe the rest of the other entries are better than Steins;Gate so obviously will be passionate about this series and recommending it to people who only know S;G.
Steins gate and the 2nd season is definitely one of the best stories in anime form, I hope you get to experience some other awesome shows like fate zero (and other ufotable shows), koe no katachi, clannad+after story, your lie in april, AnoHana, Oshi no ko, violet evergarden, madoka magica, 86, code geass, made in abyss, Evangelion series, CP Edgerunners, summertime render, re:zero and fumetsu no anata e (would probably be my favorites from past 15 years)
I love to see someone else with a positive opinion of 0. I feel like it just expanded upon what Steins;Gate did in a way that doesn’t step on the original. Gave us so many amazing character moments
I have been waiting for this video essay. Steins;gate has always been dear to my heart, and I’m so happy that you really liked it too. Despite having tons of fans and having great ratings, it always felt a bit underrated, especially over the years when more great animes and more shonens were released. Which makes me appreciate a video like this even more. Also, I’m so happy you focused on the character dynamics. Somehow, when discussing Steins;gate, people always focus on the second half and the intense thriller feel that had. But, like you said, Steins;gate was always about the characters, and the second half wouldn’t have worked had it not been for the setup and character building of the first half. Also, I appreciate the love for Steins;gate 0. It always had a lot of people who don’t like it, so seeing a perspective of someone that liked it more than Steins;gate OG, while appreciating its flaws, is really refreshing. I, too, understand how much development it bought many of these characters. And I too, with many others, understand the HYPE FEST that were the final episodes, as well as the depressing sadness of Mayuri crying, Amadeus disappearing, and Kurisu saying goodbye. There’s just a lot to love about 0 that people are ignoring because it’s not as masterful as the original. I love this series and I could only thank you for making a full love letter to it in 2023.
I can not recommend enough the whole wider Steins;Gate universe known as the Science Adventure Series. Steins;Gate is the only one with an actually good anime, but the other games I might even like more than Steins;Gate somehow. Also, new entry in the series this September called Anonymous;Code!! Definitely look up spoiler free guides if you decide to play though its nearly impossible to play without.
Yess ofc Steins;Gate is unbelievable goated, I've been enjoying watching the reactions! The characters are some of my favorite and the most memorable characters in the ~250 anime I've seen. And wow it's great to see someone else enjoy Steins;Gate 0 even a little more than than the first series like I do!
This is still my favorite anime of all time (both the original and 0). So far nothing has topped it even though some have come close, like FMA: Brotherhood for example. Hell I still watch both shows once a year as a tradition.
you'll never get the same high again, it's one of the best time travel media even outside the anime medium edit: watch the dub, IMO, it has much cleverer script and the references are easier to digest due to the localization process which they did nail. In fact i prefer it over the original.
I hope you'll react to more content related to S;G, like the drama CD's about this series, there are some really interesting, like the one related to the Ganma world line, or the one about Faris and Kurisu, also there are some comics that expand the lore, like the one in wich we learn about the time Suzuha spent in the 70's and came to know Mr. Braun, all of that really adds to the greatness of this show.
I finished the show couple days ago and I still have the good after taste. SO recommended. Make sure you endure the first few slow paced chapters because you will miss them later.
when you do get around to reading the Steins;Gate VNs, you should consider reading the entire Science Adventure franchise in release order. The VNs don't really have characters from other entries, but you get an overarching story of the world at large.
**Platinum Trophy~ Full-Blown Weeb** unlocked 🤣🤣🤣 But nah, on a serious note, this was a REALLY great wrap-up on the Steins;Gate series, it's still kinda crazy to me how far you've come in understanding anime 😅, all I gotta say is... You love to see it 🔥
Honestly, you might entertain the idea of doing a playthrough of the Steins;Gate VNs since you seem to love this show as much as I do. The atmosphere is a bit different since you're more strongly locked into Okabe's POV and you hear more of his thoughts. They're pretty long though, you can play through like two hours of the first one before you hit the point where Okabe sees Kurisu alive for the first time in the Beta world line after seeing her get stabbed, which happens at the end of episode 1 in the show.
Regarding Zero, the Weeb Jail take resonates more with my experience of the show. This is basically a different anime with different characters wearing skins of Steins;Gate cast. It's still a good anime, but doesn't even come close to the original. Steins;Gate had a very airtight story with unusually strong themes reflected in sooooo many things, but Zero takes the easy path.
The only other 3 anime that I've watched as much as Stein's Gate are : Re:Zero, KonoSuba, and Is This a Zombie? Add in MM! and those are my top 5 anime of all time. (and I've seen hundreds)
This has been on my watch list since I've started anime. Alot of people called this show mid. But the same people call HxH A Masterpiece and AOT as to "Gory". Basically I take ur suggestions seriously. I've seen you also Watch Dark and The Glory, Both have been sitting on my watchlist for a few weeks. So thank you! I'll be diving into one of the 3 shows this week!
@@RobinoyoReacts I know dude! I enjoyed your AOT reactions. Then saw you started watching dark a few weeks after you caught up. So been watching you here and there without spoiling myself on certain shows! If you have any other mind melting shows, I'll gladly add them to my list and watch them when I've got time!
@@jyaad Nah bro I like steins;gate and I know Hunter x Hunter is a masterpiece. You do realize it has the best character writing and development in almost all anime. I think steins;gate is really good, I just don't think it's a masterpiece, maybe for some people. I did connect to the characters but Okabe was the only one with the most complex development. Other characters were just the catalyst for him.
@@jyaad Aot is indeed gory. It does have good mystery, intense, and shock value but it has very weak character writing. So many people said aot had weak character writing including pewdiepie for a reason. It's literally a mech anime with shock value. Entertaining enough, nothing deep.
LET'S GOOOOOOOOOOOOooo, ROBINOYO, me and you share the same thought, steins gate became my favourite show after steins gate 0, not steins gate, so i also hold the same thought as you, steins gate 0 was more enjoyable than steins probably, but both have it's stuff, but the twist of the world war 3, and these scenes and the scenes that makes us feel the true emotions and development of other characters was good, Glad that i found a great youtuber who loved steins gate the most like me who share the same thought as me
16:52 as a dub watcher, Kaguri was insufferable. 2/10 character. this show ALMOST had no characters that irritated me, but my god were her dialog lines cringe incarnate. i realize i usually don't like the amnesia characters in any show because they seem to be exceptionally one noted, even for a show like this, but i'm sure she's bad even for amnesia characters. Given how important she was for the plot she was just... painful to endure. i thought that if i could learn to like Fariss that i've won, but i was wrong. glad she didn't get into the time machine and ruin the wasteland scene with her presence.
I'm really not seeing the appeal of this show. It feels like because it successfully pulled off a closed loop people are ignoring the fairly mediocre writing in-between. I get that characters hit differently for different people, so me not feeling any attachment to hardly any of the characters is just a personal preference thing, but the decision making is so inexcusably bad for most of the series that I can't look past it as anything other than bad writing.
excellent analysis! its been an amazing ride watching steins gate along with you, your reactions are some of the best I've seen, so genuine and so interesting. I'm really glad I stumbled upon your channel randomly one day and I'm happy to see that you loved steins gate so much :) El Psy Kongroo

when you do get around to reading the Steins;Gate VNs, you should consider reading the entire Science Adventure franchise in release order. The VNs don't really have characters from other entries, but you get an overarching story of the world at large.
love it so much❤
The thing is SG and SG0 is very enjoyable even in rewatch.
Loved your analysis! It made me emotional.
Can't wait to see other timeline to get animated
I did not know you could play, i loved the intro!! and im so glad you enjoyed steings gate as much as you did :)
Bro I am hyped! The anime is really masterpiece
**Platinum Trophy~ Full-Blown Weeb** unlocked 🤣🤣🤣
But nah, on a serious note, this was a REALLY great wrap-up on the Steins;Gate series, it's still kinda crazy to me how far you've come in understanding anime 😅, all I gotta say is...
Freakin loved this show.
Needed to hear those guitar cover
very perfect Anime
It's been a masterpiece since 2009. :D
THE STEINSS GATE IS REAAAAAAL
this, aot, and vinland for me.
Steins:Gate hits harder than any visual novel or animation. It’s that good
Yes, yes it is.
The only other 3 anime that I've watched as much as Stein's Gate are : Re:Zero, KonoSuba, and Is This a Zombie?
Add in MM! and those are my top 5 anime of all time. (and I've seen hundreds)
You Abslutely right ... also its my best show off all time after naruto/naruto shipuuden series
I don't care about ant other shows But Steins;Gate is truly the best anime of all time!
pfp checks out
If you want even more after you watched everything check out Steins;Gate - The Sagacious Wisdom of Cognitive Computing it is a 4- part slice of life.
An excellent video!!!
All 3 are fantastic choices if you'd ask me! I hope you'll enjoy whichever you end up going with :)
Now im waiting for that attack on titan video man
This is probably the best review of steins gate I’ve seen. However I defiantly need to put a spoiler warning for viewers
LET'S GOOOOOOOOOOOOooo, ROBINOYO, me and you share the same thought, steins gate became my favourite show after steins gate 0, not steins gate, so i also hold the same thought as you, steins gate 0 was more enjoyable than steins probably, but both have it's stuff, but the twist of the world war 3, and these scenes and the scenes that makes us feel the true emotions and development of other characters was good, Glad that i found a great youtuber who loved steins gate the most like me who share the same thought as me
You are actually saying that SG can't come close to the storytelling of Shingeki no Kyojin?
💗
If you like character focused anime, Bakemonogatari is quite good
Peak gate

Comparing trash like AoT with the greatness that is Steins Gate should be considered a crime!
excellent analysis! its been an amazing ride watching steins gate along with you, your reactions are some of the best I've seen, so genuine and so interesting. I'm really glad I stumbled upon your channel randomly one day and I'm happy to see that you loved steins gate so much :) El Psy Kongroo
