Devon Sawa (Final Destination, Casper) joins us this week to share the highs and lows of his experience in this industry from his unstoppable ambition as an actor in his youth to the inevitable struggle, that Hollywood catalyzed, leading to his rock-bottom of quitting at 24.
Devon is an open book this episode - candid about his evolving relationships and what inevitably pulled him back into film.
We also talk about why he’s most proud of Stan, his shock at the premier of Final Destination 5, and being stranded during the filming of Chucky.

I knew an actress whose role in an episode of Law & Order was re-shot with a different actress and they never told her. She only found out when it aired, when all her friends and family were watching.
That twist was wild when I saw it. 😂👏
it's really well hidden to because they drop very subtle hints and then the plane total gives it away in the best way
For anyone confused their referring to the ending of 5 when they show the inside of the plane & Alex & carter are fighting hey spliced that with the newer footage
The same was for Kerr Smith, he had absolutely NO idea he was in the end of 5, it was like "what?... thats cool" in some interview "I might just see that" its like they decided it wasn't really worth informing them about it ;D
Honestly it's probably because they had to pay Michael Biehn more than his ALIENS salary to just use a single image of his in Alien 3 cos they technically didn’t have the rights to it and held them accountable that modern contracts have a “you waive your rights to anything made for this film reused in future productions “ style clause.
Granted in a better world the actors would be able to put a flat fee for every reuse plus residuals clause in too but sadly studios have way more power when negotiating contracts
yall mean Final Destination 5
Nice catch. The title for this video is wrong 🙄
@@8ojack Bingo! 6 is shooting right now in Vancouver... FD 6: Bloodlines...
Look, I'm no fan of AI/deepfakes/etc, but this to me is a clear case of "you have already been compensated for this footage that we shot, and you agreed to let us use it however we see fit until the end of time."
Not exactly. I assume you've heard of residuals, where people who worked on a TV show or movie get a little something whenever its rerun. Certainly, if you're using their work as part of a NEW production, you need to compensate them for that.
Crispin Glover actually filed a lawsuit after some footage of him from the first Back to the Future was reused in the second film without his consent.
You would think the actors would be the first to know not the last, or worse still left out of the loop altogether🙃
I remember them showing that at the end of final destination 5 i wonder if half of the cast didn't know about it.
He’s gonna be in the next one!!
Why would he have sued? They own the footage of Alex from the original, then used a body double for the back of the head,
So stupid
Best hoodie ever.
What was the first movie they talk about him getting cut out of?
I believe Crispin Glover filed a lawsuit when footage of him was used in Back to the Future II without his knowledge.
When they create new footage with the old, it's legally considered new because it's been manipulated. He should talk to a lawyer.
If they are bringing him back i will watch it. But if they don't i will not watch it without him! Recast or remove the best character is the worst thing that can ever happened to a franchise!!!
Final destination 5. 6 it's not out yet
Wait, I didn't even know they had a 6. WHEN DID THAT COME OUT?!!! 😂
They're talking about FINAL DESTINATION 5. But there is a 6th film coming next year that is filming right now called FINAL DESTINATION: BLOODLINES
Closely followed by a seventh movie, which was part of the original news report.
MEH, it was as a supercut of all the deaths from previous films... It wasn't like it was some new plot point... It was a literal sizzle reel of death scenes from 5 films... BTW, FD6: Bloodlines is shooting in Vancouver right now so they must have meant the 5th one...
That's not true? the end of number 5, the two survivors go on a plane towards Paris only for the audience to realize that these two are on the same plane as the class from the number 1. And then the plane blows up. It's literally the twist of the film, that the movie is a prequel to the franchise not a sequel, that's a decent plot point lol. Did we watch two different films lol?
It was a giant twist. I remember recalling that the cell phones were all old models and the music they were listening to was all old but it didn't really hit until you saw the beginning of the first film happening at the end. Made the movie really special. This guy has no clue what he's talking about
@@filmrook6606people like him will always find something to complain or not like lol
