When I unlock my car i can't see headlights coming on at all not even at day or Night my headlight switch is in the middle Auto. Also in BMW's remote you can turn the headlights on is this possible in Mercedes.. Thanks

Last year I had gotten the GLC but realised it's a small mini suv not suitable for someone with kids. So last week I took it back and got the new 2024 GLE....extremely convenient and great space for the whole family. I love mercedes-benz ❤️
Thank you for this video Nick. I never knew this feature about restricting the boot door to open up only to a certain height exists. I have dented my merc twice in underground low height parkings when I unknowingly just opened the boot 😔. Now I know how to limit it to the required height. 👍🏼
Can you please advise about how to close the boot from the key. I noticed that you can only use the key to close if you are standing next to the car which obviously makes no sense since you can lift your arm and press the close button. Any idea if the key closing works at long distances ie not standing next to the car. Thanks

Hi Nick did you know about the trick with powered tailgate/boots about waving your foot under the back bumper on passenger side to open and close your tailgate/boot etc? Great idea if your hands are full !
Hi Nick, I have my EQA 350 4MATIC AMG-LINE Premium finally and, after some frustration - it is a seismic change from my Insignia Estate ‘work-horse’ and managing the cruise control is something I feel has to be mastered if you don’t want to constantly be driving all the way to the speed limit and, inexplicably, there is a section of road on the M5 on my commute to work where the car believes the speed limit is 80 MPH!? And a 7 mile stretch of the A40 in Wales where the authorities carrying out roadworks negated to remove the 50 mph limit signs, when it is quite obvious that it should have returned to 70, so that means marshalling the ‘cancel’ feature, switching off the audible warning and being ready, when my car tries a couple of times to pull you back to 50 from 65 (my preferred speed), which happens when it thinks it has moved to 60 and back (so a change event), which is actually quite dangerous if you happen to have one of those annoying ‘tail-gaters’ (sorry that was a lot more than I intended to write on that) - I love it. So, I am revisiting all of your great videos, particularly settings / tips and tricks. However, I cannot find your video where you explained how to set up ‘Nick’ names (see what I did there!?) for your contacts, so I want to say ‘Call my Queen’ (my wife) but try as I might I cannot find it on my settings. Would you be so good as to point me in its direction? Thanks for all your videos, they are terrific.
Awh thank you and thanks for sharing! Glad you love the videos! Yes tech on cars completely relies on the surrounding environment for it to show the correct info and maps etc for speed changes. As long as you know of course how it works, then you toggle between using the cruise control and manually etc on a road trip. I do recall in one of the videos I made on how you can assign family members but it’s not on the latest generation of MBUX. I believe Mercedes removed that feature as I’ve not seen it. It depends what year your EQA is. If it’s the newer facelift one then I don’t believe it’ll have it
@@npoleary Hmmm, seems they removed a few things - I thought that I’d have been able to find it, so I am not surprised it has been removed. I would’ve also liked it if they’d kept the centre touchpad, the little tray is, I feel slightly pointless and the steering wheel touch controls take quite some getting accustomed too, jumping up instead of across. Sound like a proper moaner, I have decreased my commute cost from over £16 a day to around £3.50 worth of electricity
@@npoleary Actually, few more hundred miles in and playing with the settings, I have found that you can remove the feature for automatic adjustment of speed - in the settings. My experience is much more enjoyable now, and I have control. The EQA 350 still reduces to the speed limit but only after you cancel the cruise control. Much better :-)
I've had so many issues with the remote package. Left the theater as I was getting notifications saying the car was unlocked only to find it locked. Happened a few times with little support so turned it off.
Another one, when you roll the volume knob the settings gear icon appears on the pop up volume level display giving immediate access to all the multimedia settings without scrolling through all the menus
Many thanks for your tip on using the Hold function, it is a really good way of using my GLC220D but, I have noticed that while the vehicle is stationery on Hold the rear break lights remain on thus in certain conditions be very annoying to the vehicle behind. Yet if I put the car in Neutral the rear brake lights go off so the question is can I use the Hold function and while on Hold can the break lights be turned off ?
Hey outofBermondsey, Thank you! Glad you enjoyed then video! Yes all automatics do this which is quite common. However on newer Mercedes they do dim the red lights at the rear at night. Sadly I wouldn’t know which models it is but they have thought of that already 🤓👍🏼 pretty sure it’s models over the past few years at least 🙏
You can zone the ambient lighting off in the ambient lighting settings. Depends on the car but there’s usually a zone or two where you can adjust the brightness. It’s in HOME, COMFORT, AMBIENT LIGHTING and look for Zones 👍🏼
I know someone who has a second hand Mercedes from the US. 2020 GLS under 50k miles. The navigation system and Mercedes Me doesn’t work. Current location is Lagos, Nigeria - is this why?

Hey AnikiF, There’s a trick, it’s needs a second of complete silence before saying “Hey Mercedes”. If someone’s talking or a window is open then it can affect it
I have a GLC220D and it is great, made better by your tips, but the sound of the Indicators on my car is very quiet and the little green light is hidden by my steering wheel. Can the indicator noise level be increased

Hello, nice videos and good informative tips. On the remote controll I`ve heard its possible to change bootlid opening from one long click to two clicks. Witch is nice for not accedentially open it when your keys is in your pants. Is this correct? If so, is this something we can do ourself or does it need MB coding?

I have a Samsung galaxy phone and when I hold down the button on the steering wheel it activates Bixby on my phone even though Google assistant is set as default. Do you have any idea how to fix that and activate Google assistant instead?

If it only has one dial then it'll be a 7" screen so two dials wouldn't be possible. I believe when ordering from new, there's an option for a larger screen with a 10.25" screen which gives you two dials as it's physically a larger screen. But chat with Mercedes to be 100% sure 🤓

There’s a setting usually in the car on the central screen, HOME, SETTINGS, LIGHTS and in here they’ll be Ext Light delayed switch off or something similar. Just make sure this is on and any other similar settings that refer to ext lights (naming does vary from model to model). For the remote, no not seen an option for that although I have seen on some cars you can do it on the Mercedes me app

I keep getting “I can’t help you with that right now.” I seem to have this issue with a number of the tips and tricks. I’m in Australia, are we somehow restricted over here? Nick, great vid as always. I dont seem to have the calendar option and went to my settings but it does not exist. Is this available on all Mercedes models in all regions? I am located in the USA and own a 2022 GLA 35 AMG. I also notice some other apps within the Mercedes Me app that I dont seem to have included.

Hi Nick, need your expertise. The trunk (boot) on my 2023 E350 4Matic decided to only open half way. I don't have a clue how it happened. I followed your instructions in this video but I'm not getting any tones when I hold the close button. I pushed the trunk all the way up and held the button. No tones. Your example is on an SUV. Does my sedan work differently? I have to tell you that I read the chapters on the trunk in the manual and there isn't any explanation or direction. Please help Nick. Jim
Ah I’ve seen a separate button for some other models that don’t have that especially if it’s a saloon. Have a look in the setting section in the car. It’ll be something along the lines of HOME SETTINGS VEHICLE There’s usually an option in there to limit the boot 👍🏼

Hey Karen, yah is for the suggestion! I wasn’t planning to do a video on just that, but if a car is capable of multi-colour you’ll see it on screen. Press, HOME, COMFORT, AMBIENT LIGHTING, and then press COLOUR. If a car can change to multi colour, it’ll be shown here. From what I’ve seen when reviewing the cars, it seems to be only cars that have the MBUX Multimedia System or a couple of cars that have the latest generation of COMAND (NTG 5.5)
May I know which is the mode to get back the steering wheel loseended up. When I purchased the car, the steering wheel and the acceleration paddle was so smooth, but lately I don't know what I did or probably I confused the system, it is stiff. May I know how to or which mode to use to get back a loosened up steering wheel and acceleration paddle
I’ve not heard of loosening the steering wheel before If anything isn’t right with a steering wheel in any car, I would definitely advise getting it checked out by a technician or garage.
Hi Nick. I love your videos mate. An they have help’t me out so much so thank you for that. But l have a question maybe one of us customers have. During this day an age. How come during this day an age. l’m not maybe the only one here. As a customer. I’ve had my car serviced with someone else an my MBUX as been playing up after 2yrs old. An l got told by Mercedes today that they do a update every service you have to keep it up to date. So my question is to you is if that’s the case. Then why don’t they add the software update as a service plan? It shouldn’t make any difference at all who does the service as long as you use genuine Mercedes parts. Then l get told that because Mercedes have not done my last 2services that they can’t sell on my vehicle if l sold it them. Funny think is l had a Audi S3 an Mercedes offered me 19k for part ex for this car an l sold it for 21k without my service being with Audi. So another question is it doesn’t make any difference at all who services your car. I’m a bit disappointed with Mercedes today how they can treat customers that buy there products. An maybe l’m not the only one here either 😢
Thank you! Really sorry I don’t think I have an answer for the software updates but I’ll try. Modern Mercedes (ones with MBUX) can do over the air updates which is pretty good. But…those are typically just sat Nav updates. There can be updates for other things but it’s usually multimedia system related more than anything else. What they maybe been referring to is software updates for specific control units, modern cars have absolutely loads of them. These won’t add features not like an update for a phone but I’ve heard they’re just like bug fixes etc as these days, cars are literally computers on wheels! Of course only Mercedes dealerships will have access to the latest updates. It’s up to you where you get a car serviced, but Mercedes do have a few perks and benefits from main dealer servicing like European Breakdown cover that I covered in a video once.

Hey Luis, if should just be as simple as holding your finger on a tile on the favourites menu. That’s what it’s like on my Mercedes (but I do have the landscape one as opposed to the portrait one)

A-Class has never had one in Mercedes as far as I’ve seen. From an overview of Mercedes, it looks like it’s just reversed mainly for cars with larger boots, like SUV’s or Estates

No sadly not, you’ll need to lock using the key or handle if you have KEYLESS-GO. You can use the app as long as you have signal etc from your phone and the car is out in the open too 🤓
Hey Darren, no I’ve not heard of this before but it does make sense if that notification comes through in a no signal area. Mercedes me services wouldn’t be able to tell if your car I actually on and you’re driving round etc. If it happened once, then fine but if it happens again I would speak with Mercedes.

Hey The Canadian Cigar Guy, Really sorry I won’t be able to assist with exact specifics as to why you might not have it. It can be for a number of reasons such as the equipment in your Mercedes, it may not have had a software update yet or it genuinely may not be available where you live. Best thing to do is speak with Mercedes me Support or just your local Mercedes and they may be able to point you in the right direction. You can get them on the Mercedes me app, top left and then press help.
Sorry you’ll have to ask Mercedes on that one, I’m fairly certain though it’s only certain countries in Europe. Depends where the car was produced though

Hello Nick et al, I have been struggling with Automatic Volume adjustment on NTG 7 MBUX with Burmeister in my 2023 GLC. (standard stereo system does have this option) There is no way to turn it off as the menu option simply does not exist. Local dealer could not help me at all and just confirmed the fact that other C class cars in the shop had the same issue. Is there a chance anyone has heard about a way of disabling the auto volume? Thank you.
Hey Sergii, I’ve not seen an option for this I presume it’s something that is always enabled and cannot be switched off. I’m guessing this is a feature to help with the speed of the car? So the faster you go, the more the volume increases etc
Hey Sharon, Mercedes me will always show you everything that’s available per car so it’s possible that those are the only ones currently on that model. If you head to the Mercedes me store though; that’ll show you all of the things available!
Nick, I thought of a better example as to why a Mercedes owner would want to use Geofencing... A person could use Geofencing so if they're at home cheating, when the spouse is in the area of coming home, then the phone will go off stating that the car is approaching home! LOL

Nick 2 weeks I have to renew my services. BUT I can’t have what I’ve had. Because due to Europe & Mercedes the remote packages are going to be reduced. As in door locking via the app and look where your car is via the app u can’t renew them. June 1st that’s the date. This is all due to the SIM card is only 2G-3G all new Mercedes have now got 4G. Can you do a video about this because I want to renew.?????
Hey Paul, yes I have heard this from the news that 3G networks are being switched this year. So I would assume that much like phones that only have 3G capability, cars that also have 3G antennas would not be supported anymore. I don’t know if this is true or not and I haven’t heard anything from Mercedes about this but I would assume that would be the case. Have you spoken to Mercedes me support? They might have more info on it…
I doubt it, I mean it probably could be possible I guess but wouldn’t be easy. Car manufacturers do not offer this anyway. Plus it would be very expensive!

Is there a way to not get the "your car is unlocked" notification when im home ?? I would like to have the notifications on, but since i leave my car unlocked at home i get at least 3 notifications when i park and since my car is an E.Q i like to recieve the notifications telling that is done charging.
No sadly not, I’ve not seen a way to change that. That’s a good idea though with customisable notifications. Let’s hope Mercedes put that onto the app in the future!

Hey The Pudding Club, where abouts are you based? Sadly it’s only available in certain countries so double check with your local Mercedes to see if it works. If you’re in the UK, it’s compatible with any model that has the MBUX multimedia system (once the Mercedes me services are switched on)
Hi Nick, because my wife hates motorways, I have them "avoid" in the MBUX navigation system. However, the system now appears to avoid dual carriageway town bypasses e.g A46 Warwick, A417 Cirencester, A303 Andover etc. This results in being routed into the towns and subsequent traffic jams. Is there any way I can avoid this without reinstating Motorway route guidance?
Hey Harrod, ah okay I’ve not tried it before to be honest plus I haven’t seen any settings to control dual carriageway / motorways separately. It’s possible that’s how Mercedes have it on their Sat Navs so if you wanted to and if you can (spec on the car etc) try using Apple CarPlay or Android Auto and use Google Maps or something like Waze. Slightly different Sat navs so they may do things a bit different. Hope that helps!
@@npoleary Not possible I'm afraid, as although I have MBUX 6 on a 2021 CLA Premium Plus, I bought the Dashcam from your store which then prohibits the use of either Apple Car Play or Android Auto or, indeed, my own music via USB connectors.
Ah okay, yes if you use Dashcam then you won’t be able to use utilise another USB-C port. It’s possible that it’s how MBUX categorises motorways under that section, I’ve not tried toggling it before personally when I’ve reviewed the system and produced videos on it.

Sadly you can’t change the temperature on Mercedes cars. I noticed this when I rented one in the USA that they’re set to Fahrenheit but here on my car in the UK it’s Celsius
Thank You for the tips and tricks video's!!! I have found several things that I did not know about on my car. I love the ejector seat!!! I have a Burmester and it is the premium system so it is very loud!!!(A #53?) I am having trouble with getting my Android Auto to stay on!!! The Android Auto just goes dead shows a blue ecreen??? Not good in a $65,000 SUV... So, Tomarrow morning, (10-1-23) I am going to see if the dealer can fix it, or I will stop paying my payments and part the car out to China!!! If you are wondering why I would do that, it is because since I purchased the car, the dealer could care less that I had a check engine light on at "2750" miles!?!?!!! Tomarrow they will be forced to show me the pro-active code. OH!!! My left head cover is no longer with the engine cover...There is about an inch of space between the two covers. The plastic, after 1.5 months, is already warping!!!

Regarding the engine management light, in ANY car, this can come on for a variety of reasons, in fact the list is so long that mechanics and technicians will 99% of the time need to check it out to find out what it is. It could be as something simple like a fuel filler cap not shut correctly (pressure in the system), could be a low battery for very low mileage driving or a sensor or something is actually mechanically wrong. It could be anything so a mechanic / technician will be able to check it out for you and get you back on the road 🤓

Sadly no I believe it only works when you’re close to the car (same for operating the windows if the car is compatible)

Hi Nick, I have my EQA 350 4MATIC AMG-LINE Premium finally and, after some frustration - it is a seismic change from my Insignia Estate ‘work-horse’ and managing the cruise control is something I feel has to be mastered if you don’t want to constantly be driving all the way to the speed limit and, inexplicably, there is a section of road on the M5 on my commute to work where the car believes the speed limit is 80 MPH!? And a 7 mile stretch of the A40 in Wales where the authorities carrying out roadworks negated to remove the 50 mph limit signs, when it is quite obvious that it should have returned to 70, so that means marshalling the ‘cancel’ feature, switching off the audible warning and being ready, when my car tries a couple of times to pull you back to 50 from 65 (my preferred speed), which happens when it thinks it has moved to 60 and back (so a change event), which is actually quite dangerous if you happen to have one of those annoying ‘tail-gaters’ (sorry that was a lot more than I intended to write on that) - I love it. So, I am revisiting all of your great videos, particularly settings / tips and tricks. However, I cannot find your video where you explained how to set up ‘Nick’ names (see what I did there!?) for your contacts, so I want to say ‘Call my Queen’ (my wife) but try as I might I cannot find it on my settings. Would you be so good as to point me in its direction? Thanks for all your videos, they are terrific.

Yes tech on cars completely relies on the surrounding environment for it to show the correct info and maps etc for speed changes. As long as you know of course how it works, then you toggle between using the cruise control and manually etc on a road trip.
I do recall in one of the videos I made on how you can assign family members but it’s not on the latest generation of MBUX. I believe Mercedes removed that feature as I’ve not seen it.
It depends what year your EQA is. If it’s the newer facelift one then I don’t believe it’ll have it
@@npoleary Hmmm, seems they removed a few things - I thought that I’d have been able to find it, so I am not surprised it has been removed. I would’ve also liked it if they’d kept the centre touchpad, the little tray is, I feel slightly pointless and the steering wheel touch controls take quite some getting accustomed too, jumping up instead of across. Sound like a proper moaner, I have decreased my commute cost from over £16 a day to around £3.50 worth of electricity
@@npoleary Actually, few more hundred miles in and playing with the settings, I have found that you can remove the feature for automatic adjustment of speed - in the settings. My experience is much more enjoyable now, and I have control. The EQA 350 still reduces to the speed limit but only after you cancel the cruise control. Much better :-)

I've had so many issues with the remote package. Left the theater as I was getting notifications saying the car was unlocked only to find it locked. Happened a few times with little support so turned it off.
Another one, when you roll the volume knob the settings gear icon appears on the pop up volume level display giving immediate access to all the multimedia settings without scrolling through all the menus

Many thanks for your tip on using the Hold function, it is a really good way of using my GLC220D but, I have noticed that while the vehicle is stationery on Hold the rear break lights remain on thus in certain conditions be very annoying to the vehicle behind. Yet if I put the car in Neutral the rear brake lights go off so the question is can I use the Hold function and while on Hold can the break lights be turned off ?

Thank you! Glad you enjoyed then video! Yes all automatics do this which is quite common. However on newer Mercedes they do dim the red lights at the rear at night. Sadly I wouldn’t know which models it is but they have thought of that already 🤓👍🏼 pretty sure it’s models over the past few years at least 🙏

Any idea why the ambient lighting is only partial working. It words fine on the dash but not on the doors or footwells.
You can zone the ambient lighting off in the ambient lighting settings. Depends on the car but there’s usually a zone or two where you can adjust the brightness.
It’s in HOME, COMFORT, AMBIENT LIGHTING and look for Zones 👍🏼
I know someone who has a second hand Mercedes from the US. 2020 GLS under 50k miles. The navigation system and Mercedes Me doesn’t work. Current location is Lagos, Nigeria - is this why?

If it only has one dial then it'll be a 7" screen so two dials wouldn't be possible. I believe when ordering from new, there's an option for a larger screen with a 10.25" screen which gives you two dials as it's physically a larger screen. But chat with Mercedes to be 100% sure 🤓

When I unlock my car i can't see headlights coming on at all not even at day or Night my headlight switch is in the middle Auto.
Also in BMW's remote you can turn the headlights on is this possible in Mercedes..

Ooo nice! There’s a setting usually in the car on the central screen, HOME, SETTINGS, LIGHTS and in here they’ll be Ext Light delayed switch off or something similar. Just make sure this is on and any other similar settings that refer to ext lights (naming does vary from model to model).
For the remote, no not seen an option for that although I have seen on some cars you can do it on the Mercedes me app

Nick, great vid as always. I dont seem to have the calendar option and went to my settings but it does not exist. Is this available on all Mercedes models in all regions? I am located in the USA and own a 2022 GLA 35 AMG. I also notice some other apps within the Mercedes Me app that I dont seem to have included.

Hi Nick, need your expertise. The trunk (boot) on my 2023 E350 4Matic decided to only open half way. I don't have a clue how it happened. I followed your instructions in this video but I'm not getting any tones when I hold the close button. I pushed the trunk all the way up and held the button. No tones. Your example is on an SUV. Does my sedan work differently? I have to tell you that I read the chapters on the trunk in the manual and there isn't any explanation or direction. Please help Nick. Jim
Ah I’ve seen a separate button for some other models that don’t have that especially if it’s a saloon.
Have a look in the setting section in the car.
It’ll be something along the lines of
HOME
SETTINGS
VEHICLE
There’s usually an option in there to limit the boot 👍🏼

Hey Karen, yah is for the suggestion! I wasn’t planning to do a video on just that, but if a car is capable of multi-colour you’ll see it on screen.
Press, HOME, COMFORT, AMBIENT LIGHTING, and then press COLOUR.
If a car can change to multi colour, it’ll be shown here. From what I’ve seen when reviewing the cars, it seems to be only cars that have the MBUX Multimedia System or a couple of cars that have the latest generation of COMAND (NTG 5.5)
May I know which is the mode to get back the steering wheel loseended up. When I purchased the car, the steering wheel and the acceleration paddle was so smooth, but lately I don't know what I did or probably I confused the system, it is stiff. May I know how to or which mode to use to get back a loosened up steering wheel and acceleration paddle
I’ve not heard of loosening the steering wheel before
If anything isn’t right with a steering wheel in any car, I would definitely advise getting it checked out by a technician or garage.

I’ve had my car serviced with someone else an my MBUX as been playing up after 2yrs old. An l got told by Mercedes today that they do a update every service you have to keep it up to date. So my question is to you is if that’s the case.
Then why don’t they add the software update as a service plan?
It shouldn’t make any difference at all who does the service as long as you use genuine Mercedes parts. Then l get told that because Mercedes have not done my last 2services that they can’t sell on my vehicle if l sold it them.
Funny think is l had a Audi S3 an Mercedes offered me 19k for part ex for this car an l sold it for 21k without my service being with Audi.
So another question is it doesn’t make any difference at all who services your car.
I’m a bit disappointed with Mercedes today how they can treat customers that buy there products. An maybe l’m not the only one here either 😢

Modern Mercedes (ones with MBUX) can do over the air updates which is pretty good. But…those are typically just sat Nav updates. There can be updates for other things but it’s usually multimedia system related more than anything else.
What they maybe been referring to is software updates for specific control units, modern cars have absolutely loads of them. These won’t add features not like an update for a phone but I’ve heard they’re just like bug fixes etc as these days, cars are literally computers on wheels! Of course only Mercedes dealerships will have access to the latest updates.
It’s up to you where you get a car serviced, but Mercedes do have a few perks and benefits from main dealer servicing like European Breakdown cover that I covered in a video once.
Does Nick have any tips for the Mercedes f1 team. Waiting to see him in Lewis/George's pit garage in the race weekend teaching them about the secret functions in the F1 W14 E Performance.

Hey Luis, if should just be as simple as holding your finger on a tile on the favourites menu. That’s what it’s like on my Mercedes (but I do have the landscape one as opposed to the portrait one)

A-Class has never had one in Mercedes as far as I’ve seen. From an overview of Mercedes, it looks like it’s just reversed mainly for cars with larger boots, like SUV’s or Estates

No sadly not, you’ll need to lock using the key or handle if you have KEYLESS-GO.
You can use the app as long as you have signal etc from your phone and the car is out in the open too 🤓
How about stopping notifications that your car is unlocked while your driving and engine running ??????

Hey Darren, no I’ve not heard of this before but it does make sense if that notification comes through in a no signal area. Mercedes me services wouldn’t be able to tell if your car I actually on and you’re driving round etc.
If it happened once, then fine but if it happens again I would speak with Mercedes.

No sadly not, you can turn off the keyless entry part (if you have it) but the boot button is always live if pressed

Really sorry I won’t be able to assist with exact specifics as to why you might not have it.
It can be for a number of reasons such as the equipment in your Mercedes, it may not have had a software update yet or it genuinely may not be available where you live.
Best thing to do is speak with Mercedes me Support or just your local Mercedes and they may be able to point you in the right direction. You can get them on the Mercedes me app, top left and then press help.
Just got GLC 300 , calendar is enabled for MB me app but not able to see the same in MB app..
Hey sachin, this will vary round the world but in the UK just head to iOS settings on your phone, Mercedes me and make sure Calendars is enabled.

Hello Nick et al, I have been struggling with Automatic Volume adjustment on NTG 7 MBUX with Burmeister in my 2023 GLC. (standard stereo system does have this option) There is no way to turn it off as the menu option simply does not exist. Local dealer could not help me at all and just confirmed the fact that other C class cars in the shop had the same issue. Is there a chance anyone has heard about a way of disabling the auto volume? Thank you.

I presume it’s something that is always enabled and cannot be switched off.
I’m guessing this is a feature to help with the speed of the car? So the faster you go, the more the volume increases etc

Hey Sharon, Mercedes me will always show you everything that’s available per car so it’s possible that those are the only ones currently on that model. If you head to the Mercedes me store though; that’ll show you all of the things available!

Nick, I thought of a better example as to why a Mercedes owner would want to use Geofencing...
A person could use Geofencing so if they're at home cheating, when the spouse is in the area of coming home, then the phone will go off stating that the car is approaching home! LOL
There’s lots of examples you could use! You could even put a Geofence for your house while you’re away on holiday….or if you lend a car to a friend 🤓

Nick 2 weeks I have to renew my services. BUT I can’t have what I’ve had. Because due to Europe & Mercedes the remote packages are going to be reduced. As in door locking via the app and look where your car is via the app u can’t renew them. June 1st that’s the date. This is all due to the SIM card is only 2G-3G all new Mercedes have now got 4G. Can you do a video about this because I want to renew.?????
Hey Paul, yes I have heard this from the news that 3G networks are being switched this year.
So I would assume that much like phones that only have 3G capability, cars that also have 3G antennas would not be supported anymore.
I don’t know if this is true or not and I haven’t heard anything from Mercedes about this but I would assume that would be the case.

I doubt it, I mean it probably could be possible I guess but wouldn’t be easy. Car manufacturers do not offer this anyway. Plus it would be very expensive!

I would like to have the notifications on, but since i leave my car unlocked at home i get at least 3 notifications when i park and since my car is an E.Q i like to recieve the notifications telling that is done charging.
No sadly not, I’ve not seen a way to change that. That’s a good idea though with customisable notifications. Let’s hope Mercedes put that onto the app in the future!

If you’re in the UK, it’s compatible with any model that has the MBUX multimedia system (once the Mercedes me services are switched on)

Hi Nick, because my wife hates motorways, I have them "avoid" in the MBUX navigation system. However, the system now appears to avoid dual carriageway town bypasses e.g A46 Warwick, A417 Cirencester, A303 Andover etc. This results in being routed into the towns and subsequent traffic jams. Is there any way I can avoid this without reinstating Motorway route guidance?
Hey Harrod, ah okay I’ve not tried it before to be honest plus I haven’t seen any settings to control dual carriageway / motorways separately.
It’s possible that’s how Mercedes have it on their Sat Navs so if you wanted to and if you can (spec on the car etc) try using Apple CarPlay or Android Auto and use Google Maps or something like Waze.
Slightly different Sat navs so they may do things a bit different.

@@npoleary Not possible I'm afraid, as although I have MBUX 6 on a 2021 CLA Premium Plus, I bought the Dashcam from your store which then prohibits the use of either Apple Car Play or Android Auto or, indeed, my own music via USB connectors.
Ah okay, yes if you use Dashcam then you won’t be able to use utilise another USB-C port.
It’s possible that it’s how MBUX categorises motorways under that section, I’ve not tried toggling it before personally when I’ve reviewed the system and produced videos on it.

Sadly you can’t change the temperature on Mercedes cars. I noticed this when I rented one in the USA that they’re set to Fahrenheit but here on my car in the UK it’s Celsius
Hold what button on the steering wheel, there are many.
For which tip? The voice assistant? If it’s that one you hold the voice button.
They say you should use heymercedes in english and not in my languese and that is the dutch .its more basic
Thank You for the tips and tricks video's!!! I have found several things that I did not know about on my car. I love the ejector seat!!! I have a Burmester and it is the premium system so it is very loud!!!(A #53?) I am having trouble with getting my Android Auto to stay on!!! The Android Auto just goes dead shows a blue ecreen??? Not good in a $65,000 SUV... So, Tomarrow morning, (10-1-23) I am going to see if the dealer can fix it, or I will stop paying my payments and part the car out to China!!! If you are wondering why I would do that, it is because since I purchased the car, the dealer could care less that I had a check engine light on at "2750" miles!?!?!!! Tomarrow they will be forced to show me the pro-active code. OH!!! My left head cover is no longer with the engine cover...There is about an inch of space between the two covers. The plastic, after 1.5 months, is already warping!!!

Yeah defo get in touch with them if you have a couple of issues, I’m sure they’ll be able to look at.
Regarding the engine management light, in ANY car, this can come on for a variety of reasons, in fact the list is so long that mechanics and technicians will 99% of the time need to check it out to find out what it is. It could be as something simple like a fuel filler cap not shut correctly (pressure in the system), could be a low battery for very low mileage driving or a sensor or something is actually mechanically wrong. It could be anything so a mechanic / technician will be able to check it out for you and get you back on the road 🤓
If you have your phone connected via bluetooth you can just say "Hey Siri" or "Hey Google" and it will use your phones voice assistant
You can now, an update came out on iOS so some cars offer that now 😎
