You need to check out more Apache 207. He's quickly become one of my favorite German rappers. "Roller" is one my favorites. He's more of a throwback rapper with a big 80s sound. Edit: this one is going on my playlist, too! Edit edit: I wrote the comment before you said it wouldn't make it to your playlist. 😆
Udo Lindenberg is the pioneer of german language rock music. However, he started out as a jazz-rock drummer around 65 years ago. At that time he worked with, among others, the jazz rock legend Klaus Doldinger. He sang in german at a time when only "Schlager" singers did. His live performances are also legendary. In this regard, he worked with another great from the cultural scene, the theater director Peter Zadeck. Many of his songs have become part of german cultural heritage, which makes it all the more astonishing that, as far as I know, the song Komet is his first number 1 hit. Lindenberg also made a name for himself as a painter. Oh yes, and his style hasn't changed much in the last 60 years, both externally and vocally, without his music suffering as a result. His brash “singing” is highly recognizable. One of the secrets to his success right from the start was his use of the German language, which was unusual for the time. He was able to fill large stadiums even until the pandemic. Most of his great songs are difficult to find on UA-cam.
I thought of your music reactions yesterday and how much I liked them. I haven't checked out the channel for a while and today you're back in my feet - soooo nice.
The great old man of german music....Udo Lindenberg (born 1946) You have to listen to "wozu sind Kriege da" or "Sonderzug nach Pankow (because he was not allowed to sing in former GDR, and this song was adresses to Erich Honecker directly) or my 3 favorite Songs "ich lieb dich überhaupt nicht mehr" "Horizont" and the famous "Meine Klavierlehrerin" Liebe Grüße aus Südhessen
That Hotel (Atlantic in Hamburg) is where Udo Lindenberg lives for the last 30 or more years.
You can do Cello from him and Clueso next.
