There are European brands I've been trying. They're pretty good. Made with different oil than hellmans. hellmans makes me nauseated now. I found them in the polish/Greek type aisle.
I legitimately never tried mayonnaise (knowingly) until I was like 15. My family bought Miracle Whip and I cannot explain to you how much I despise it. But we would occasionally get Subway and I LOVED their mayonnaise so I was very confused for a long time lol. Needless to say, no more miracle whip for me!
I like all three but i use them for different things really. Kewpie and helmans are my goto for most mayo things sandwiches and dipping and making sauces and are basically interchangeable for me. but I really do prefer using miracle whip as a dressing for tuna, chicken, and pasta salads. mainly because thats what i grew up with and how my family made them. theres room in my fridge for all three. also i usually buy olive oil version of the helmans not the original i dont find them to be all that different tasting but its just what i grab.

I have a chef friend who wrote many cook books and cooked for michelin starred restaurants. One time I asked him why he doesn't have a recipe for mayo and he said that in the end he prefers helman's to most homemade and even pro ones. I tend to agree, although, I'm making flavoured mayo from time to time. Re MSG... yes, people need to snap out of the BS. Every time you reduce tomatoes you get MSG.

I found it yesterday in an Asian specialty shop in my city in Denmark. It came with the insane price tag of 65 DKK (~$9.64) for a 500 gram bottle, while real "quality" mayo from a normal shop costs like 15 DKK (~$2.22). I'll try it today - it better be worth the price! :P
It was very good, which could maybe make it worth 2x, or even 3x the price of regular mayo, but I think over 4x the price is pushing it. I will probably buy it again at some point, but it won’t be a regular item in my pantry. 🙃

I noticed recently that Hellmans (Beat Foods out west) was using soybean oil. I am trying to stay away from soy anything and have had a helluva time trying to find Mayo without it - do you have any suggestions?

I got introduced to Kewpie by Sam the Cooking Guy. Good stuff. As for MW, that stuff can be consigned to the trash heap of culinary history. I’ve never liked it. Growing up, my mom used to make mayonnaise herself. She used an extra egg yolk in hers, which leans it towards Kewpie. She’d also put in a small dollop of Dijon mustard and fresh ground pepper before blending it up. As olive oil became more readily available, she’d use that too. Her homemade mayonnaise was the best.
Miracle whip is sweet compared to regular mayonnaise. So, I wouldn't say they could be used "interchangeably" per say. Miracle whip is for people who prefer sweet vs. Salty mayo (Like me 😃)
These are the only two products that I refuse to buy generic. Miracle Whip straight up isn’t mayo and as much as I tried to replicate Kewpie at home (with relatively satisfying results), it’s not the same as the real thing. Hellman’s and Kewpie are the only two brand items in my shopping cart xD
FYI Helmans isn't available up here in the PNW = Pacific North West all we have is best foods and they say it's the same thing but with a different label. I want some helmands first so I know if they are the same or different.

Dukes have 0 sugar naturally in Kraft has less than 2% which is not even on the nutrition label ...a 0 carbohydrates or sugar. I didn't think they did. As mayonnaise isn't sweet unless you're using low fat or even miracle whip which yuck! That stuff Definitely have sugar. It's sweet and it just is nasty lol. IMO, miracle whip is more like a dressing that can be customized just like more traditional Mayo is not Ranch. Similarly, kewpie is way sweeter than regular American mayo, and I thought it was disgusting the first time I had it 15 years ago, but now I've grown used to the very rich and distinct flavor it provides. Compared to the more blank canvas of duke's/hellmans, Miracle Whip is more flavorful, acidic and has some sweetness as you mentioned. I use all three of them differently and sometimes together depending on what I'm in the mood for. I like to compare to having gelato, ice cream, and sorbet in the freezer, there are some similarities but all are delicious depending on your craving.
Try Belgian Mayo, It is the best mayo ever made. it's sour and full. perfect! That's why you put mayo with belgian/french fries. The japanese mayo is amazing with fish, but Belgian is still the best ever made!
My uncle always has a big ass bottle of miracle whip in the fridge. I am a Duke's man myself but I said, "ah what the hell" so I smeared some on a ham and cheese sandwich and it tasted overly processed and synthetically sweet. It was legitimately gross. I thought maybe there was something wrong with me, or perhaps it had been sitting there a little too long before I got to it but it's nice to know that It does have a reputation and I can now jump on the "let's all shit on miracle whip" bandwagon because that stuff is just bad. It's too white too, shit looked like toothpaste. Now I've never tried kewpie but from the looks of it I might just have to.
Yum! I love mayo. We have all those mayos except for the Miracle Whip. One of my mates was Dutch and we got some Dutch fries and they served them with some Dutch mayo which he claims is the best. I’ve never thought about a whole world of mayonnaise varieties before 😅😂
The Dutch don’t call it mayo, they call it friets sauce, they use it for deep fried snacks and has less fat than an average mayo. I love that sweet flavor actually

Primal kitchen, I believe they use avocado oil. I like it, doesn’t have that nice eggy taste Hellman’s/Best does though
