Great to see such informative acrylic painting lessons and delivered with great humour. Thanks for taking time to produce these tutorials, great help especially in these wierd times. Stay Safe
Thanks Charlie I'd never tried acrylics before until I came up to you studio for a watercolour lesson as I was the only one there you gave me an acrylics lesson now I love acrylics thanks again
Thanks Charlie. I sent this to my sister. Not stepping on her toes. She does acrylics. Enjoyed watching. Loving the watercolor quickies. Putting them to use. Thanks again.
Hi Charles, this painting is fantastic, I love it to bits. If it is for sale can you please let me know? I have 3 of your paintings in my lounge, but got room for another that is for sure. If it is for sale I think you owe me a discount of a coffee, I made it, sat down to watch you - one cold coffee down the drain when I finished watching you. I just couldn't take my eyes off to grab my cup. HA HA HA. Keep safe wishes to you and your family, not forgetting Bert. xxx
Linny Keeble Ahahaha, sooo pleased you enjoyed it, and sorry about the coffee, could’ve been wine, could have been spilt wine.!!!!! Yes if you email the office I’ve give you a price, but it won’t be expensive.
I attended 4 of your water colour painting weekends many years ago. I moved onto oils a while back and have had some good results. Now my 10 year old granddaughter was doing a school project last week about the Vikings and the raid on Lindisfarne. I told her I did painting of it once. Went and got it and it was the one Charlie did as a demonstration. So the paints came out and the granddaughter painted her own ‘Holy island castle’. I then showed her your demos on here. I can safely say Charlie she is loving the painting lessons. Unfortunately I lost the painting you did of North Shields fish quay to her. She is all chuffed she has an original painting by someone famous. Brilliant demos and il be rejoining as a member again. Cheers mate.
@@charlesevans7706 l wondered who would be the first, l was tempted. Are you any chance following Big Boys Channels. Wonderful paintings Charles. I am trying to learn as much as l can. 79 and not produced a masterpiece yet but having a go is the important thing. Power to your pallet sir.
Hi Charles, just finished this one (with some variations) added huntsman and beagle..my family think it is good....but I know different!! Avid learner! Thank you once again jocelynk x ,
I have just had sad news my friend has lost his brother in law to this terrible virus I was feeling very down Then I put this video on and now I am much more relaxed its a beautiful painting I can just see myself walking on that path, you have a very calming voice thank you so much and you give me your web site address please x
OH btw, I took out the browns in my wc pallet and put in Raw Umber. Made swatches of all the mixed browns. Hot damn, roll me in honey and call me sweetie, it works! Thanks.😉
Watching again, thank you for inspiring me to try my wet pallette. I have one for a year but never used it, so I will :)) Do you use one piece of paper at a time under the sponge?
I am looking to try acrylic; I've never used it, but I want to paint a realistic background mixed with with my cartoon characters in it. Is there a way of masking them off or do you just draw over once the paint is dry?
Lovely ! I used to draw graphics only with pencils ! I'm interested in color ! Do you use acrylics only on canvas ? I have several 200 grams sheet of paper - can I use these as a start?
Thanks for another lesson in my learning. Just as a matter of interest Charlie when you rub your hands over your canvas it sounds rough. I have rough hands from gardening but I never hear that sound. I am thinking that in might be from laying too many coats of Gesso on the canvas and killing the rough surface, can you give me some pointers on that please.
@@charlesevans7706 Thanks Charlie, I have had a nose around about Gesso and canvas, it seems that it is not necessary for canvas. I learn't to use it from the first teacher I followed with acrylics who almost insisted that you needed it. Every time I bought some canvasses I set about whacking Gesso on them straight away, you live and learn.
Is the sky color still wet when you start with the clouds? I end with grey-blue clouds all the time before the edges are anywhere near smooth. Thx Charles
Fantastic Charles, I do love acrylics, and picking up more useful tips each time I watch you paint, I'm learning so much. Thank you.

Ha Ha What a great name for this painting....." Frank's bottom"...Charles Evans....The blue fingernail
I am looking to try acrylic; I've never used it, but I want to paint a realistic background mixed with with my cartoon characters in it. Is there a way of masking them off or do you just draw over once the paint is dry?
Karl Dixon draw over once it’s dried.
Had to look up "ploughman's lunch". What's a 'ploughman'? Is there a ploughman hiding behind a tree? Great video! 👍
Fun!

Z. Z. Yes everything is all wet. It took as long as you saw.
Many thx.
Goal is not to blend 2 colors together, but just smooth the edges on transition, that is how u avoid gray mess...
@@makkra7565 many thx. I wasn't sure about that.
