Hopefully this solves my problem too. I am modding my GBA (was working) and as soon as I put the IPS V2 screen in and turned it on, the power light came on for a second and then turned off. I’ve cleaned the power switch and board. Checked every component and trace and checked continuity to the best of my ability. Still no power and your video gave me a path forward! So, thank you!
Good job! Does the GBA sound clean after changing the capacitors? I have a console that makes a constant hissing noise when the game is without music or ambient sound.
Dear effing god, I was just thinking that the board fits oddly well in that MOBO vice, and IT EJECTED ALMOST ON COMMAND LOL. Solid video though, thanks! I'm waiting on a capacitor kit already (just to have), and I'm getting the same flickering power light problem. Hope this is what I need to do. 🤞

It does make improvements but there will always be hiss to some extent.
What temperature did you set the heat gun to?
Normally around 300°C with a low to medium airflow if I'm melting solder
@@JoeBleepsthanks for answering! I'm glad I asked because I was thinking like 400 and that would have been way too much
@@ChewyChicken589 sometimes that would be fine, it depends what else is in the surrounding area. Masking other bits off with kapton tape is a big help
@@JoeBleeps Yes, I have some of that. Thanks again
@@ChewyChicken589 excellent. Good luck!
