Thank you, PawPaw, for making this video. My son's alternator went out on the same car. I would have spent hours showing him how to do this after I figured it out. Your video is letting him learn as he goes. Thanks again!!!

Thanks your video, yesterday replace the alternator of my dodge stratus 😊😊😊. Thank you so much
Paw good video i've had to replace pleny of them i had to replace five one time in the parts store parking lot to get one that was good, that was a fun day lol but i could take the alternator of and replace the new one in a few minutes hahaha !!!!
You are awsome this video really helps. I have 2006 dodge stratus 2.4 4L and it the same Procedure. It will be my first time replacing it. My stratus wont turn on at all, i bought a new battery 2days later it die on me. No crank, no ticks no lights, no nothing.
How cute is he. God bless him. Enjoyed the video.... I have that darn problem with my 2005 stratus too. I have to get a new part or used and have someone do it...I got the car from my veteran dad who just passed on the 1st of May..:( Other than that, it runs well.)
Hi Bob, Good video. It had some information that I hope somebody will learn from. Question would you have been able to do that before you started the Fat Train? It good to see you back being able to do things again. Also did I miss the Fat Train video for this week? Thanks again from Snowy Idaho
Filming the Fat Train right now. It will be up tonight. Before Feb 1st, I was waiting on a friend's car lift to be available so I could work on the VW door. Since I dropped weight, I have no problem now. Just gotta drop more !! Thanks for watching !
DId you keep count of how many push ups and sit ups you did while changing that thing. Of course there are the bicep curls and forearms work outs. Possibly a chance to practice some minor first aid too. Any time you work on your car there are so many benefits. Thanks for sharing.
Yes sir maintenance and do what ever you Can your self sure makes the difference to you initial investment in your car last longer. I've had my car for 10 plus years with a shoestring budget drove across country and back about do it again with 230 K on a 10 year old car. That said when I change the alternator on my Nissan Maxima and I cried for more than half the time I work did all the same steps you did except on different car amazing how much torture that is have to love thoses old GM V8 80s and older so much faster 20 minute job. Got 2 miss that. Thats funny about that 40k house thing. In northern California sf bay area the medium house is half a million and a house in bad areas start 400k and up 😁😂😥 so I guess no matter how beautiful it is here I live in a bad area I guess that's why I'm moving over to that area 😀
Born and raised and can't afford to live here it's hard it image unless you live out here and you become used to it being normal. You can UA-cam SF Bay Area Housing and it will pop up a bunch of news clips.
Gotta love those sideways motors lol I agree though I'd much rather keep my old 2000 suburban than pay the crazy prices they want for a new one my dad just bought a new Silverado he payed over 50 thousand and that wasn't even the sticker price don't get me wrong it's a nice truck I talk him into letting me drive it every now and then lol but I'm just fine with my old suburban
I noticed when you checked the coolant you checked it from the cap. On my 2004 Dodge Stratus I have a bleeder. What is the part number for what the cap screws into And the radiator hose Clips onto? Like I said my radiator hose connects to a bleeder and I would like to switch it to a cap like yours.
That's how I'm about to spend my Saturday. Cut off yesterday as soon as I turned in to the parking lot at work 👿👿👿👿👿 mechanics language inserted everywhere LoL
Lord have mercy that's a lot of work. The alternator on my truck went out and I was debating on doing it myself. Is there more room on a half ton Ford?
Sir I have a 2004 Dodge Stratus 2.7 I've changed the alternator battery and new serpentine belt my car will not stay charged what can it be oh, and I put a new ECM in
You can repay me by subscribing !! First, your battery needs to be fully charged. Charge it while DISCONNECTED from the car. This will make sure no constant drain is pulling it down while you are charging it. After fully charged, reconnect it, start the car and put a voltmeter on the battery. You should read in excess of 13.5 volts, more like 14.5. If all you read is 12 or 12.5 the alternator is bad. If you are getting a good voltage out of the alternator, take the battery and get it tested.
OR, you can head to your local auto salvage yard as I did when I noticed one of the cars I bought at auction was missing it. (an 06 Stratus) and get change back from the cashier when you pay with a ten dollar bill.
DoingItCheap those was well made cars. I remember my dad would sit on the fend and have room to work on stuff. Heck you cant get your hands in to check the oil on some of these cars with all thats in the way. We had a good thing going with those cars but someone had to bring electronics in to them
Paw Paw, I got just one statement.... The SOB who designed such as thing never had any intention of working on it himself. I started video but will have to finish later.
I didn't come here to hear jokes or to listen to stories about your wife or to see you play the guitar. If you want attention cool but you wasted my time. I know I'm a deck but get to the point. Thats all have a great day
Let me get this straight......... are you one of my grandchildren? No? That is who I made this channel for. Do you pay my bills? No? Then what gives you the right to tell me how to run MY channel? Do you subscribe to my channel or help me in any way? No? Then what makes you think I give a rat's rear what you think? You say you are a "deck"....... then GO FORTH AND MULTIPLY SINGULARLY !
I always forget first , last negative, positive. Ur conductor story I will always remeber. Thank u!!!!!
Always welcome

Thanks Pawpaw. I'm tackling this tomorrow, I'll be watching this a couple more times lol.

About 40 that day (yesterday).... 70 today !!!

And as far as doing things...... I have no desire to go outside and "do things" when it is cold !!! LOL !!!
Well I stayed the same in weight this week. At least there's no gain. Back hard on the fat train this week.
There is no pain if there is no gain !!! My week was probably painless as well, will know later today !

I cannot wrap my head around that big a number for a house. My farm with a 3 bed two bath home and nice garage with almost 22 acres was $162,500

I hate the way they build cars now. Nothing but a money racket. They try to for you to take it to get it fixed. I wanna go back to the 70's and 80's.
A thirteen millimeter wrench works on a 1/2 inch nut with 90,000 miles of crap on it.
That's how I'm about to spend my Saturday. Cut off yesterday as soon as I turned in to the parking lot at work 👿👿👿👿👿 mechanics language inserted everywhere LoL
Only takes a few minutes.
Lord have mercy that's a lot of work. The alternator on my truck went out and I was debating on doing it myself. Is there more room on a half ton Ford?
Depends on the year. I thought this was fairly easy to do.
DoingItCheap man I'm good at construction... But I don't know Jack about automobiles. Thanks Paw-Paw!
i haven't watch yet but i foresee a lot of bad words coming lol
Well the video WAS an hour and sixteen minutes..... LOL !!!! Then I edited it.
Sir I have a 2004 Dodge Stratus 2.7 I've changed the alternator battery and new serpentine belt my car will not stay charged what can it be oh, and I put a new ECM in

I think so.
what ever you do, do not lose that pulley shield oem part is like $180 and most people lose it or break it.
OR, you can head to your local auto salvage yard as I did when I noticed one of the cars I bought at auction was missing it. (an 06 Stratus) and get change back from the cashier when you pay with a ten dollar bill.
yeah im just gonna junk mine.....
Bring back the cars when you can work on them and not have 30 other parts in the way.
I would love to have a pre 1970 six cylinder vehicle.
