Companies need to release components less frequent. It needs to happen every 3 or 4 years and offer alot of performance/efficiency differences. If you do that, ill pay whatever you like
Well, yes, well, yes - your opinion is very valuable and more correct than teams of several thousand goals that do this. What is the problem of buying once every 3-4 years? Or do you have incontinence? Normal people update components as needed and don't suffer from bullshit with updates every time something new comes out. For example, someone has updated from 3000 series to 7000 series, someone is sitting on 5000 series and he wants to update, for example, in six months - he will take 9000 series. Stop looking at the world through the prism of your limited thinking.
For Flight simulator you should have gone with a ddr5-8000CL40-48-48-48-128-168 kit tuned to CL40-48-48-48-116-116 + improved subtimings is faster than ddr5 6000cl30-36-36-36-76-112 or 6400cl32-40-40-40-120-120 on either of them and a lot lower latency due to synced FCLK and UCLK (altough the write bandwidth suffers a little, but read bandwidth goes through the roof) Zen 5 most CPUs manage DDR5 6200 in Gear 1 a lot do manage todo 6400 in gear and pretty much all do 8000MT in Gear2 Zen4 most CPUs manage 6000MT a lot 6200 and some 6400 in Gear1 while 8000MT isnt 100% in gear 2 with Ryzen 7000 especially ones bought 2 years ago (older revision of the IOD with less consistent binning / Quality of the IOD)
They are practically the same CPUs, if not the same, let's look at the positive side: the 7000 series is dropping in price, the 7600x and/or 7700x are ideal for playing everything and with excellent performance.
I'd be curious to see this on the latest W11 preview like AMD suggested, but this doesn't look great. Zen5% actually seems like a generous term at this point...
You'll trade 1-4 more fps and 5-10 less Watts of your "atleast its using less power" Thingy for $140 more? "Efficiency" Isn't a real word in this case bro, you'll be robbed in broad daylight, doesn't make much difference in productivity either
@pangeran_excellion the new windows 11 update helps but the performance ain't much gained I agree. But for my sustained productivity workloads, these power consumption matters. It also has much less heat compared to 7900x. Even with the best aios it can often lead to thermal throttling when you keep it running for hours or even a day at work. The 9000 series fares much better in these scenarios. Due to less power draw, less heat is generated. The 7900x often operates at 95c, meanwhile 9000 is much cooler for the same performance. Meaning it'll be less likely to throttle due to heat in sustained heavy workloads.
Fun fact: AMD has been having the same core and thread count for their CPUs since 1st Gen Ryzen. What this means, is that AMD hasn't been increasing Core counts for the same time, soon to be longer, than Intel wasn't. AMD does not care about you. Gamers, look to the 9800X3D. If that fails, the Core Ultra 7 265K is our last hope.

Yes, it's normal. They can withstand temperatures up to 95° until Thermal Throttling is performed, where they lower their performance to keep the CPU below that temperature and if they can't maintain it, they restart. Do a Cinebench test and see if it can handle everything at maximum load. If not, either you need to change your thermal paste or think about investing in a good heatsink.
