Picture quality is very good for 90’s

Jon was always one for a tall story - if it was a good one, or would please the fans. But check out the camera scripts included with the Season 10 box set. Troughton hardly goes off script at all. Just a word here and there.

I’ve heard others mention troughton as lobbing too, but maybe it’s just a thing that has been exaggerated over time.

@@AnotherScifiGuy I'm sure it has. The only other one I can think of is Terrance Dicks, but I think he was just picking up on stories he heard Jon tell at conventions and so on. I've tried to track down some of these infamous ad libs, and I can't find anywhere he completely changes a line in any of the scripts I have (And you can check out the 3/5/2 Doctors scripts for yourself on the box sets). But if you want to know how, um...economical with the truth Jon was, read Barry Letts' autobiography 'Who and Me'. Turns out one of Jon's most oft repeated stories (Wiping out the camera crew on the Planet of the Spiders location) never happened at all. And when Barry confronted him about it, Jon said 'I know it isn't true. But it's a good story'. And he was right. It IS a good story.

Let's be honest here: they all are. Wonderful chap... all of them. Jodie wasn't great, but she lacked Jo Martin's natural gravitas and experience, and was forced by terrible writing to just be a weak copy of Tennant. All you have to do to forgive her is to remember her endless enthusiasm, and check out how much better Colin is on Big Finish recordings with better writing than during his awful tenure on the show.

I don't quite get his logic in all honesty. Says Whittaker was a terrible Doctor, and says that Martin's portrayal of the Doctor is not the Doctor despite its quality. It really just sounds like they want the Doctor to be a male-only role, which kind of sucks given how the Doctor can be a role given to practically anyone and their character written in so many different flavours.
Currently slogging through Series 12 with a friend after starting with 9's run from 2005, and while I do think that a lot of the episodes for 13 have been very unfortunately poor in quality (namely hamfisted writing and only getting to the good bits in the story after 80% of the episode's through), I quite enjoy 13's enthusiasm and infectiously bubbly nature. It's a shame she was paired with poor management.
I guess a neat positive of her run so far is that I'm surprised by the quality of the effects and sets. They're very much tuned to be more like a serious sci-fi set, but they manage and marry CGI and physical sets quite well for a TV show.

Where is this from? I don't suppose you know where I can see the whole interview? It's neat seeing all the living doctors together (except T Baker-he was still distancing himself from Dr Who at the time)
