Perhaps my favorite cover of this tune--right up there with ol' Lightnin' Hopkins. Unlike nearly all of the other covers that I've heard, this one wonderfully captures n beautifully expresses, per sensitive n well-executed tone, tempo, & phrasing, the essential & wistfully poignant mood (&intent!) of the lyrics. Thank you so much.
Hello Pam. Well it's been 3 years and 18 hours. I'm glad to hear from you. I figure you have things going on so this is the only video I can find. I really like your guitar work, your voice and your version of this tune. my request is still the same, show/tell me how you are playing this song. I have watched it quite a few times and it it still my favorite version. I hope your life is going well and that you are happy in whatever you do. I hope your talent takes you where you want to go. All the best. Cheers
Hey Pam, this sounds great and makes me wish I were blowing some harp in the background. I look forward to making music with you again someday, along with the rest of the Remedial Rhythm Boys! Steve
@@pamelabertoli407 Here’s our rendition. This recording was made during the peak of the COVID pandemic and each musician was playing live over the Internet from their homes in various US states (using Jamulus software). Some of the musicians I knew, and others I didn’t know. It was an open American Roots jam. ua-cam.com/video/Z9VLH6m4ql0/v-deo.htmlfeature=shared
Thanks! Not really sure where I got the lyrics. Probably a bunch of versions that migrated to this over time. Brownie McGhee, Big Bill Broonzy. Also Bonnie Raitt uses one of these verses in a different song I think!
Hello Pamela. Really good version of this song. All i need now is for you to upload about 103 videos of you playing other songs. Anytime you want to make a tutorial of this song, it would be great. Much love
Great cover, Would you mind sharing the plucking pattern and the chords used, I know it's played in the key of E major, but your inputs will be much appreciated.
Yes chord progression I played here is E E7 A7 E C#m7 F#m B7 E, turnaround to B7 Back to E (Second line is a I -VI -II -V progression) The song actually has a B7 as the 2nd chord -but I got used to putting an E7 there for a darker feel. Pattern mostly T 2 D 1 T 2 D Alternating Bass with thumb on E and D string 1 is G string w 1st finger 2 is B string with 2nd finger Enjoy!
What a voice! Could listen to that all day.
Sweet! Will post a few new tunes soon

As a blues singer and player myself I know how much work
goes into making it sound that effortless. Wonderful version.

Just posted a tutorial of the song. Hope that helps!
Great cover, Would you mind sharing the plucking pattern and the chords used, I know it's played in the key of E major, but your inputs will be much appreciated.
I'd like that too! Would you have the song tabbed anywhere to share? I'll keep watching and try to figure it out!
Yes chord progression I played here is
E E7 A7
E C#m7 F#m B7
E, turnaround to B7
Back to E
(Second line is a I -VI -II -V progression)
The song actually has a B7 as the 2nd chord -but I got used to putting an E7 there for a darker feel.

Enjoy!
I don’t think I have it tabbed but I will try to do a tutorial. A few people asked for it!
