Hi, I have just joined your face book page, very interested in having a Digifleet TX converted, but PC board a bit lacking in copper, especially where battery connections are soldered. Can it still be and and what cost?Michael
@@Rcmodelgeeks hi Rob , I have the digifleet and also a hi Tek laser 6 , whick one would be the easiest to convert? There doesn't seem to be much room in the digi. I would use either for boats rather than planes. I used to build planes years ago but my son kept me busy building so I never learned to fly. Hands knackered now so safer with boats.😁
I had the DHT Module already installed in another TX but based on your video here, have resused it in a PCM Digifleet and......it works!! thanks for the inspiration.
G'day Rob I wish that was around when I had my Futarba which became obsolete once bloody CB radios came in over here and operated on 27 megs like the Futarba so that was the bloody end of it and to have it converted you might as well bought a new transmitter. Very interesting vid cheers Rob and the crew regards John PS I'm glad you said that noise was Colin's phone because it sounded like someone " farted"
Practical nostalgic conversion job,if I get hold of a nice Fleet like that one then you can do the necessary conversion,I like the nice long sticks too, well done you.
It seems you have already earned the 'Golden Screwdriver' award, so you realize how important it is to disconnect the battery when working on something like that.
Hi Rob, Bit of an old vid now, but I hope you can still answer a question. Contemplating the same conversion, but I won't want to retain the 35 ability, so my inclination would be to remove the rf board altogether. However on your vid it shows a further two wires, pink and brown, connected to the board. Wonder if you would know the purpose of these wires, and whether I would be safe to just disconnect them. Thanks Jeff
The earlier ones generally were either black or blue. with silver gimbals. Generally the principal is the same. I dont think the rf board changed very much.
Just one or two questions where can i get a kit and is the sky rx futaba friendly .last question can i convert my 35 meg futaba to 2.4? and do you have a conversion plan on PDF i could have ,cheers I,ll send you and ur mate som Jammie dodgersfor helping me out lol
Hi Graeme The Frsky module has been discontinued, so they are difficult to get hold of now. However, Lemon also do a diy board which works the same way. It will bind to Lemon's own receivers but also to Spektrum DSM2/DSMX receivers, giving a wide choice of units. Hope this helps. Jeff
Thanks for the info ,i,ve been to you,r link found the kit but out stock never mind the,ll get some more no doubt.once i get every thing i will come back to you for some more info cheers bernie.
Before you start poking around inside it. Remove the sides and disconnect the batteries! 4 batteries at each end ;o) they will be junk anyway. i replaced mine with 2500mah AA cells.
It just so happens i have a retro Digi Fleet that is a goer ,i might do this conversion .yes quite like it i may hve to play the vid a few times to understand what to do but hey so what.
Just a note to say if anyone wants their Digifleet Radio converted to 2.4Ghz I'm happy to convert it for them.

I take it you can charge the bigger batteries through the chaging port as per usuale?
Yeah thats right. You can even use the original charger. It will just take longer to charge fully of course. ;o)

Hello. Interesting and very well done. I too have a DigiFleet radio and looking to convert to 2.4Ghz, are you still able to carry out the conversion?

I did similary in my Digifleet works okay!
The batteries did you make them up or can you buy all conected up in fours ? ,cheers
i just got 8 AA cells with solder tags on and joined them. You could just buy 2 RX battery packs as long as the are AA and square not flat.

Genuine bread board electronics !
How can I get in touch? I have one of these and would like it converted to use with a modern spektrum 2.6ghz receiver
thanks for the advice, i will let you know how i get on.
I would love to convert my old MRC 765 to 2.4ghz but keep my long fishing pole telescoping antenna with my two color ribbon on it just for looks.
To be more retro make the Moth Giant scale rubber powered. :)
Should've put the antennae in the middle where the original telescope antennae is.
thanks for that i have a blue one i will get it out of the loft and have go, many thanks.
