Lyrics:
I live in a nameless town
No need to wander around
I live in a nameless town
In a black out
Many friends have said goodbye
Paraded out in one proud line
I say they all just lost their minds
Midnight where we used to dance
Underneath the ugly halogen lamps
Oh, it all went away so fast
In a black out
We’ll wait for the year
When the tide comes
Rolling over the rails
From here to the end
Of the island
Washing away
I rent a room with all our stuff
When you come home I lift you up
And there’s only the two of us
In a black out
Now you’re sleeping in the back
Of a speeding yellow cab
Throw a kiss goodbye to all of that

This song makes me feel an emtion that I can't describe.
Soft songs slow your heart down
Oscar Wilde on Chopin: "I feel as if I had been weeping over sins that I had never committed, and mourning over tragedies that were not my own. Music always seems to me to produce that effect."
Nostalgia
bittersweet nostalgia
just wandering, do you get a likewise feeling from this song? 'albert hammond - air disaster'. In my opinion it has a sort like emotion, but less fantasy like.
"Midnight when we used to dance" I swear that is the best part.
YES. Next is, "I'd rent a room with all our stuff, when you come home I'd lift you up, when there's only the two of us..."
I prefer I said that lost there minds
For me it starts at "We'll wait for the year when the tiiiide comes" and continues until the end of the song
That part right there 😊
Another great song from Lucifer's soundtrack.. this one was used in a pretty awesome scene too

Super Epic

MIDNIIIIIGHT WHERE WE USED TO DANCE
omg I love this part 🌒💓
This reminds me of a time long ago with my first true love. We were driving up a long country road into the mountains at night, headed for his father's house. We stopped at a closed restaurant where there was a phone booth to call ahead and let family know we were on our way. I remember standing there by my sweetheart as he called, night bugs flying around his head in the glow from the light above the restaurant's front door, hearing the crickets singing all around us in the night. In that moment, I thought, "this is what happiness is, I am really, truly happy and I've never even known what that felt like before." Then he hung up the phone and spontaneously caught hold of me, waltzing me around the restaurant entryway and back out of the light into the soft darkness by the road where the car stood waiting. I'll remember those moments as long as I live, and when I first heard this song, I was immediately reminded.
This is a fantastic, haunting song. Thank God for Apple's ad! I'm so glad I found these people!

This song is so beautiful. I can relate to it so much, especially growing up in a small town.. how quickly the rumors spread & how everyone is just in & out of your life like nothing.
But the beautiful part is the little things.. like dancing underneath the ugly halogen lamps with someone you love.. or loved. 💔

This song does things to me on the inside that I can't even begin to describe. It's been such a tough time. Thanks for this and wish you a long and great life, Hamilton.
A few years ago, this album got me through the hardest thing in my life to date. Thank you Hamilton and Rostam ♥️♥️♥️
This song gives me such a nostalgic feeling. I don’t know what from. It’s amazing.
It really does..
2017 nostalgia
It was in an old iPhone commercial
The intro of this is played in Sweet Tooth and it took me a while to figure out which song it was lol. It's not mentioned anywhere for some reason
The beat was played but no singing lol
was also featured in a show called the society that got canned after season 1 which was basically another under the dome situation show
Yes, when the dr was riding the horse at night.
For me it's the same in sweet tooth.
I immediately recognized it lol
The Society has some good ass soundtrack dude
This is so good, I feel like I'm in a dream
this song reminds me lot of feelings when i used to feel
I'm so in love with this darn show already, and I KEEP looking up new music, it's killing me! (😈)
This scene was a sooo stunning. The cinematography, the slow mo walk, the plot context of the ep for the moment w/ this song... so so beautiful. I'll never forget it.
if you truly listen to the lyrics, it’s beautiful
Amazing voice, so much talent, people will be listening to this guy in 30 years.

This song is so haunting... odd word to use for a song, but it seems fitting. That guitar, the composition, the RANGE of his voice! Gawt dayum!!
From another time, so much of his music.
This song makes me want to go backpacking around America 👌
i'm here bc i heard it on the radio... i feel lonely
Grace Banaan I'm sorry you feel lonely. It's not forever. It's just a moment and the moment will pass. Courage!

I like how he says Throw a kiss goodbye to all of that.
Introducing me to this song is the greatest think apple has ever done
The way he sang it is what makes this song a classic.
Who's here from a good taste in music?
Came here from Lucifer. Stayed from good taste in music
Don't blame people who love another taste in music, just respect
@Matt Olds F I N A L L Y
Here from Lucifer too that was a special scene lol
That implied two completely different things. Hope you know that.
Being a fan of mr. Leithauser brought me here.
My new favorite music ever...I have spent the entire day watching videos of these two, so damn talented it is incredible! They deserve complete success and recognition for their talents in writing and performing. I LOVE THEM SO MUCH
I don't know what I am supposed to do or be anymore. I wonder if I can ever feel true happiness again.

This song was played one of the most visually appealing scenes I think I've ever seen in Lucifer... Unbelievable how this gives me chills every time.
Oh my the memories.... This song holds so many of abuse and little happy moments whenever I was safe for a little while or believed so while listening to this song. Wow such a flashback to those years
Didn't realize how much I needed this tonight. Beautiful!
i know.......right. beautiful song
To everyone here because they liked the song, check out The Walkmen, the singer's previous band. They're awesome and Hamilton is an amazing singer.
JJ finally someone that isn't talking about a tv show or a commercial, or even this sounding like Bob Dylan. Don't forget that the other half of this band hales from Vampire Weekend. I remember listening to the single "We've Been Had" many years ago by The Walkmen while driving around in VW. I listened to that first album a lot.
This makes me think about life a lot
This song makes me cry almost every single time I hear it.. I really don't even know why. I remember the first time I heard it was on Sirius XMU, I was driving home from work one night. I was all stoked to get home and take a shower so I could sit down and eat dinner and watch the World Series. I forget exactly which game it was, but it was the Cubs Indians series (imo the best WS ever). But I was also at the tail end of the longest relationship I've ever been in.. things were pretty much irreparable at that point. Maybe it's tied into that? I really don't know. It's just a beautiful melancholy feeling. It feels really sweet and warm but the more I allow myself to feel it the more it hurts.
Stay Strong. Find something to channel your energy and emotions. namaste 🙏
@@Sahil_Antil Just saw your reply.. thank you

Not many songs hit like this does at the 1 minute mark. It all I’m here for, all I need.
Reminds me a bit of "The Partisan" by Leonard Cohen. Excellent stuff.
Yes this song sounds heavily influenced by Cohen. Like it a lot.

Awesome song. Not even the genre of music I usually get into, but it really pushes you towards a mellow, reflective mood thinking about life.
