the erdinger about a inch at the bottom of the bottle mix around the yeast at the bottom and top it up it tastes better with the extra yeast at the bottom of the bottle
I tried the Guinness 0.0 at Christmas. I agree it’s not bad. My favourite non alcoholic beer is Becks. In a pub though I usually drink tonic with ice and lemon which is all the best bits of a gin & tonic. Slainte.
Stole a few bottle off my dad when I was 15. Though I was great . Me and me mate knocking back bottles having the craic , genuinely thinking we were getting tipsy till we read the label and it was non alcoholic beer . My mam pissed herself laughing when she found the empty bottles in my room. By the way for everyone slagging non alcoholic beers - they are grand if you wanna stay off the drink , or if you wanna have a pint before picking up the kids from school etc . I couldn’t drink coke or Fanta . There’s a bit of a placebo effect off the non alcoholic beers. Lidl have a good cheap non alcoholic beer too
Had to switch and try a lot of alcohol free due to the big C and chemo. It's now beneficial to me to keep the amount of units pretty low. So for me Erdinger zero, Guinness 0.0 and San Miguel 0.0 in that order for me. Though Northern Monk do some nice zero IPA's. Old Moat 0.0 is not too bad. Compared to years ago the chice is pretty good now.
Really impressive how close the NA Guinness is to the regular Guinness Draught. I don't drink nearly as much Guinness, I probably don't notice as many differences as you but it's close enough for my money.
I think Guinness Guru and Guinness in general is intrinsically linked to booze, so you could easily open up more content options for yourself and not feel one bit bad about it. In fact, it could be the 2023 turbo boost the channel needs! Keep Guinness vibes and comparisons humming away in background, but try stuff. I saw this title and was looking forward to watching it anyway. For sure. Hope this is helpful in some small way.
Been out when had to drive. Had a few of these. Loved it as an non alcohol beer. Obvs if I wasn't driving I wouldn't have went anywhere near it. Best I've had to be fair. It does lack the body and mouth feel and creaminess but all the other stuff is there. U can tell something is missing but for me if I'm gunna do the non alcohol beer guinness is the best by a county mile
I'm a cold pint bottle of Guinness man down in my local which incidentally I think is your new local now you moved but decided 2 have a dry January so I've had about dozen pints of Guinness 0.0 over the weekend. I agree totally wit u about it. No where near the full flavour of real Guinness but not to bad.
Not sure if its in the Republic but you need to try Lucky Saint its sold in Tescos in NI. Contract brewed in Germany, unfiltered lager, the real deal. Erdinger to much sugar added
I remember drinking Clausthaler non-alcaholic in Germany in the eighties. Dreadful muck and if you drank four of five of them you could still have the delight of a hangover!
the non alcoholic weissbier can be good, we have several brands selling them in germany. i recently quit driking and the "bitburger herb 0.0" is pretty good as a pilsner alternative, the regular 0.0 is pretty shite though
You say they're made for "people that dont drink" but that is not true because people that don't drink wouldn't want non alcoholic beer because they dont drink anyway. They are designed for people that do drink but for whatever reason have to or want to or need to give up alcohol.
Always enjoy the videos but a little bemused as to why a non-beer drinker should review these. There are plenty of alcohol free stouts out there, such as Nirvana, Galactic Milk or Bonfire Stout which would have made more sense for the guru to tackle. I used to think guru’s reviews were alcohol induced but now I know that he talks bollocks quite naturally.
I think he put a poll out asking which ones to review. I love Guinness but I’m not a Stout fan (tried many other stouts and dislike the flavours). So if there was no Guinness I’d probably go for one of those in this review.
Was just in Tesco late tonight and saw they had a big tv screen advert for Guinness 0.0. Wanted to pick up a pack but because of the geniuses in the Scottish government I can’t buy any alcohol, or even non alcoholic beers after 10pm.
Yeah same in Ireland , I also think it’s insane that it costs me the same to buy a non alcoholic in the pub that a regular beer. It should be tax free . Ridiculous
Lucky Saint is a decent lager but that's only compared the the mainstream pish you get. I'm no into lager more a dark Ale guy but I love a good stout I look forward to trying the virgin Guinness I don't expect it to compare to the real deal tbh but she doesn't drive and Scotland is the new reich so sometimes needs must!
Gah. Fuck things like Heineken Zero. Like you said, wouldn't drink the full ABV stuff, so why try that piss water? It's a 1/10 from a NoLo side, and that's being generous. Get some good stuff in, if we're not drinking we want some good, tasty stuff, not the crap that half the pubs have in like Becks Blue or Heineken Zero. Six NoLo stouts you could do a test with: Big Drop Galactic Brulo Dry Hopped Drop Bear Bonfire Hammerton Crunch Mash Gang Anxiety Saint or Reign In Blood Northern Monk Holy Death
Guinness 0,0 is excellent. Irish genius. A good 'drink'...don't call it a beer. Also...Brooklyn Special Effects ...a very good drink...you get a beer vibe with both of these products.
Can't see the point of the Bulmers. I presume that's Magners in the UK by the look of the label? Might as well drink Appletise(r) or something similar for half the price. BTW, Wheatbeer is always lively, even the stuff straight from a wooden cask.
To be fair to all them drinks..No way should they be drank on the same day.. A fair review would be try them on different days and then comment on them..What de ye think???I enjoy yer vids from Derry City
Big fan of your videos at the start but you seriously need to look at a few Doug de Muro clips to figure out how to review products. Your review process needs a lot of refining. Needs broken down into category’s then an overall score.
@@colin6673 they don't taste nice Colin. Every non-alcoholic beer I've tried has a strange and unenjoyable taste to them. It's a shame. I'd much rather a soft drink than them.

No nasty twang on Guinness 0,0...it's a good 'drink'...but not a beer...I'm a 52 year old alkie...the nerves in my left leg are shot to fuck. I had a scan in November and my liver is ok. I do the wagon thing from time to time...but not in January...maybe mid Feb to mid March. Guinness 0,0 is excellent and Brooklyn Special Effects is also pretty good.
Fair play for the inclusive language. Will always be those who ridicule that sort of thing but I have a few mates who appreciate it. It's a small thing but makes a difference. 5 years cancer I ve decided to stop to help with treatment and it worked …… but ……. I still call in for a few Guinness 00 is simply the best
Hope you get better
Hope you have a good recovery Paul

Same reason for me. 18 months out now and my unit count is low single digits a week.
I’m a lager drinker and for me the top 3 AF lagers are:
1 - lucky saint (by a long way)
2 - Stella Artois
3 - Becks Blue

Non alcoholic beer is much healthier than a soft drink. Look at the ingredients of a Coke and the calories...
I still get a hangover from non alcoholic beer, so I can only assume that my body just doesn’t like the ingredients
I quit drinking five months ago and I’ve been enjoying non-alcoholic beer. Erdinger and Bavarian is sound. I like Heineken too
But yeah I get what you mean about the emptiness. I’ve grew to love them though
Have you ever tried the whiskey barrel aged versions of guiness? Are they a thing over there or just an American thing?
Barrel aged stouts are brewed over here
I've tried all these myself apart from the Bulmers and the Guinness for me is my favourite with not trying the Bulmers one.
