Liked this video. It’s somewhat difficult to find unbiased videos on this subject. Many such videos are made by the manufacturers, which is obviously not ideal. Based on other info I’ve read, seen or been told I agree with all of the points made in this video. I would add two more points if anyone is considering installing their own screens (options 1 and 2 in this video). First is roof pitch. A steep roof often makes it more difficult to install certain types of screens, primarily the ones that are designed to slip under your shingles. Secondly, roofing shingles often extend well into the gutters, which makes it difficult to install any sort of screen or cover.
None of these things will work. Call it a screen, guard, whatever, it's just a short matter of time before they clog up & fail. I have worked with screens & water most of my life & except for a very, very few situations, the minute you put any type of screen, filter over most anything water, it will start to plug. If you have gutters that work, you will have to clean or have them cleaned. There is no way around this so don't waste the money on things that CANNOT work. You are not just dealing with water, but water with impurities that make it slimy, you are not dealing with leaves but wet slimy leaves that cover & glue everything down. I could write a book & barely cover all the problems. None of these products can or will work.
Currently I don’t have any guards. My problem is that I have to clean it every hour lol. For example I cleaned my gutters the day before it rained. Once the rain hit and some wind blew my gutters clogged again and then comes the hard waterfall. Any advice you have to solve this problem without guards would really be appreciated.

I am handi-Capp and would never bother clean them. I have to valleys and present gutter guards don’t work well in the valleys.
