"Have you seen the animal kingdom? Gay af" Damon spitting facts
HAHAHAHA
I was just about to comment that 😂😂😂
Just in the forest delivering FACTS.
To all the mothers strolling with their kids, older men going for walks, and the occasional rando (like myself) who happens to be at the park at 10am on a Friday.
@@damondominique 😎
i would 100% buy his book if he ever published one
omg yes plssss
This is the sign Damon
This^^^^
YESS!
omg please yess he has the best advice ever
There is an old saying about the straight man’s homophobia being rooted in a fear that gay men will treat him as he treats women
wow that hits hard indeed
FACTS
oh.... my god
Yes! Homophobia from straight men is coming from the fear of their own masculinity being invalidated. It's such a multi-layered problem it's mind-blowing
The thing I resonated with the most in this video is: "Anyone who doesn't agree with your lifestyle, doesn't need to be there" 100%!!!!!!!!!!
what if they're your family?
Can we stop making it about lifestyle and just about people.
@@anaf.3353 I mean, it sucks and its difficult when it is family but at the same time, family isnt necessary the people you are born with, it can also be people you meet along the way. If your family doesnt agree with who you are and it is ruining the way you live your life, you can step away and take some time without them.
12:57 POV: You're walking in the park on a peaceful evening enjoying the chirping birds and the sunset and you hear this from the bushes.
i don’t even need to scroll to that timestamp cuz i already know which part that is 🤭😂🤣
"Who he talking to?"
"I'm talking to the masses baby"
“I think men like men more than they like to admit.” - Homophobia summarized
IF YOU’RE HOMOPHOBIC YOU’RE PROBABLY GAAAAAYYY!!!!!!!
Who wishes they could be friends with Damon?
Me me me !
I’m glad we all on the same page
We all do!! 😩
I sometimes daydream about randomly coming across Damon in the streets of Brussels, having awesome conversations with him while showing him around and getting him to meet my friends so we all end up getting along and living hapily ever after... in a weird cutesy fantasy of mine 🥳
I dooooooo
you deserve an OSCAR for that intro
The president of Poland this week literally said LGBT are not people, so as someone stuck in this fuckland it was nice to listen to some LGBTQ+ positivity thank youu
I also come from Poland and living in Berlin and hearing this shit going on in Poland gets me sooo frustrated!
hop across the border and live your best gay life in germany sis xx
Your country will not be that way forever. Keep fighting the good fight x our generation has POWER.
That intro thoughhh 😂🙌🏽
one of my favorite youtubers supporting another one of my favorite youtubers 😌 we love to see it!
I know it sucks!
What the world needs is more you-tubers like Damon. I love that Damon is not scrambling to make his channel relevant to today's events and issues because he has been doing it all along. Love from Canada!
😢😭 thank you for the support!
THE INTRO!!! hahaha
"Straight???... How can I make this about me...I knew it! Why didn't you just tell me? You know I wouldn't have cared?!" so true
"Challenge everything that was decided for you before you got here" 🙌🏼👏🏼👏🏼
recently realized i'm just a straight up lesbian lmao, when i came out as "bi" to my mom last year she was like, "don't tell dad or grandma"! Now that I know I am a fully lesbicious woman I do be panicking. Also I'm unpacking all these weird stereotypes I had, like it's "less feminine to be a lesbian" (I'm a very femme b lmao) how is that less femme? it's literally two females- who put this in my brain??? Anyway thanks for telling me I can come out when I'm ready... bc... i am not!
You got this!!! And thx for sharing on the UA-cam universe
same. I came out to my friends as bi with the rationale that hmm i don't like men but i do like women, boom I'm bi. i know, wth kind of thinking is that, i know it makes no sense. in my mind it didn't even think that being gay was something that was possible for me as in it never crossed my mind that i could be a lesbian because I'm attracted to women and not men. idk if any of that makes sense lol. in high school i sneakily mentioned to my religious god parents that I'd be cool with marrying a woman and that was way before i came to terms with my sexuality but they brushed it off and i let them. even as at 19 and on my own in uni, I'm still not ready but I'm okay with that for now.
@@brownstudios5379 That's so relatable. When I was first questioning my sexuality I also jumped right to the conclusion that I was bi, as if gay was not even an option. Deep down I think I knew all along, but saying that I was bi meant that I was at least half ''normal'', that's how I subconsiously thought about that I think.
@@whyisgamora4191 wow, "Deep down I think I knew all along, but saying that I was bi meant that I was at least half ''normal''" thats exactly what i thought too, but sitting in that idea it took me a while to just be okay that I wasn't into guys because that meant that there will be no meeting the expectations of my family that I have left even if i like girls. my brother was cool with it and he said he figured something like that might have been the case, but the idea of being able to saying was bi was "safe" and I hate that I felt that way. I know my truth now but coming out to the rest of my family is gonna hit hard but if i don't, I'll end up hurting myself by hiding.
Yes
"if you're not standing for the world that you would like to see one day, then what is the point of your lifetime" 👏🏽👏🏽
This whole video is just amazing
How tf 30 years old Damon looks younger than 20 years old me.
I look like I just woke up in this video. And it's cuz I just did.
@@damondominique omg you answered so quickly I didn't evenr notice. You do be looking fresh in the video though
@Nathania Prince yeah I can't wrap my head around this too
@Nathania Prince i think he's 28??
Sunscreen
Reminded me of the story when I was abroad and there was a guy who was from a serious Muslim background (let's call him A.). There were many people in our year, one of the guys was gay (G.), everybody knew that. So A. would always try not to communicate with him much, he didn't really like the fact that he was gay. But when a bunch of guys went on a trip together (including both of them), G. was the nicest to A. just casually asking if he's alright or comfortable. When they came back he didn't forget about it him and would talk to him, being nice and all. That really changed A. He was so ashamed to think about G. He realised that he's just as human as anybody else. And he considers him his friend since then. Sometimes what we think isn't really accurate. He was homophobic not by choice, it was ingrained in him and since he never really met gay people before he couldn't even explain why. I like that story and that wonderful change of perspective.
Alaia May I Love this! 😍
Reminds me of the show skins
i was just staring at his guns the whole time ...lol
ahhh the intro killed me hahah creative and amazing!
it's so grating to have people say "I knew" - I'm not a scooby doo episode!
And I would’ve gotten away with it too if it weren’t for you meddling kids.
I thought I was a lesbian for a while bc I never had a boyfriend... turns out I'm straight but I'm just scared of relationships lol
My uni taught us the words, “coming out” is inappropriate since it perpetuates the idea that everyone is born straight. That they are straight until stating they are gay/lesbian/etc.
Love ya Damon for making great videos👏🏻
For many people it is this way. It isn't considered that someone could be not straight. Heteronormativity...
Yes, it is. Hardly anyone takes into consideration that person x might be gay or bi or just not straight. I hate the concept of coming out, yet I feel like a fraud when I don't bcs people keep assuming I like girls, completely ignoring the fact that gay/bi people exist..
Can another human be my spirit animal? “You’re straight?!....I always kinda knew...” 😂
I completely agree, we need to question each and every belief we’ve been taught growing up and your priorities align once you do.
Can’t wait for more red wine talks 💅🏽
I was literally painting my nails when i read that i must thancc you for this
Same same. I loved this also
"w-w-whwh... how can i make this about me" --- yep we're listening to a professional here people! he knows exactly what he's talking about! 👏😂😂😂
Damon: “I don’t know a gay person who’d want to be straight “
Me: *thinks how easy it is to be straight bc you don’t have to deal with men>>>>”
the perks of being bi are you don't need to be straight to ignore men lmao
Tbh I’ve learned to really love men even though they are sometimes cowardly and fickle in love
yea bruh i think im the only bi person ik about who wishes to be straight lmao... life would be so fucking easy! being only *mildly* upset about the fact that your parents hate gay people out of SYMPATHY, rather than living in fear and anger constantly bc youre one of the "abominable" people that they hate, would be fucking awesome. :) imagine being able to talk about the political issues that bother you on social media without having to think twice about whether or not this will out you to your homophobic ass school!!! or hell! being able to talk about things in private without being scared that it will somehow get leaked and that you could probably be disowned or even dead or something bc you live in a violently homophobic country! ✨✨✨✨ yay!! the Dream would be NOT having to question your friendships and whether or not some of your friends *actually* support you or if you regret coming out to them!! even BETTER! having one less thing to cry about at night and not having to try and reconcile your sexuality with your faith would be amazing, too :)))))) ❤❤❤
thank u for reading my rant that literally nobody asked about i need to get this shit off my chest lmao.
I'm gay and don't wanna be str8 either. Like, the struggle made me who I am and I'm afraid I would turn out as a typical straight boy, the ones that are on straight tiktok if y know what I mean. I can't risk that lmao.
@@whyisgamora4191 straight tiktok is the main cause of all diseases of any kind. its fucking terrible
That intro was something else Damon 😂
"If you're not standing for the world you'd like to see one day, then what is the point of your lifetime?" BARS !!!
"Maybe I'm just way ahead of my time. Or maybe I'm way off." lol
"how you gonna get mad at two people just wanting to love each other" like fr it is that simple
The panicked "how can I make this about me??" SENT ME
If anyone wants to translate my comment so that everyody gets a chance to learn about Aristophanes' myth, you're welcome to do so!
Damon, have you ever heard of the androgynous myth? It's a story about love and sexuality found in Plato's Banquet. The myth, written by Aristophanes, tells that originally there were three kinds of humans: male, female and androgynous. Each gender is double. The female is composed of two women, the male of two men, the androgynous of a woman and a man. Only, these beings are very powerful and threaten the Gods. So Zeus decides to separate them. From that day on, men, once they were simple again, sought out their halves. This myth shows that the Greeks already considered sexual desire to be either heterosexual or homosexual. There, I thought it was a perfect match for the theme of the video!
Voila ....
I feel proud I could understand this 🤣 c'est très intéressant!
I vote Damon for president/prime-minister/just leader of the world.
He is the kind of person kids should grow up watching. I’m 18 but he inspires me everyday to be better and live my life as I want, which I haven’t done it yet but I will!
"part of activism is helping people understand," yes. this. so much.
wanna pop in n say that sometimes girls got a thingaling and sometimes they got a dingaling and likewise for guys! And non-binary ppl n intersex ppl r vibing as well
lol yesterday I posted on the housing search group of the city I'm moving to in france. A bunch of people put super nice and welcoming comments and I wanted to spread the love and positivity so I commented back like wow thank u all, I'm soo looking forward to moving to this warm community. AND OF COURSE someone had to come in with their negativity like, don’t be naïve, they’re just nice to you bc you’re american/korean, otherwise they wouldn’t give a shit that you’re coming here, people here are shitty etc etc and I’m like MA’AM but WHO WAS I HURTING? WHO was anybody hurting?? 🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️ idk might be irrelevant but just made me think of this when you said how can people have negative things to say when you’re just trying to LOVE one another 🙃
don't let them get you down!!
yes!! the pep talk we NEEDED to start off this pride month 🌈
Thanks for not following the algorithm, the square fits perfectly on my iPad 7!😂👌🏾thanks Damon!
no you are not way off, you are 100% ahead of your time. Thank you for showing up with so much light . This means everything.
"challenge everything that was decided for you before you got here" yesssssah, period.
YES! We shall challenge the set rules cus they're wobbly and not very valid anymore...
Didn’t think I could love and appreciate Damon’s existence even more but here we fucking are.
8:04 makes me so sad when other gays do wish they were straight like u wanna help them but it just kinda brings u down too, guess we'll just all be livin our proud life🌈 can't be everyone's councilor lmao
Makes me sad too. I love being gay! But it's not specifically for the gay part but because I finally know who I am, my brain makes sense, and I feel comfortable in my skin, ya know? Also the gay stuff. Happy Pride!
Yes, but also it's not necessarilly self depreciating/internalised homophobia, but the yearning for the objectively easier life that is when you correspond to heterosexual normativity injonctions.
The intro was everything !!! 👏🏻 Such a flippin' GREAT video !

Never give anybody the power to decide who you must be-
No parent, no church no goverment. It is only for you to decide.
i always appreciate how AWARE and CONSCIOUS you are of who your audience is and the context of the topics you discuss. thank you!!
Preach !!!! Wow , you said a full facts that can apply to so many things!!!
I'll never regret coming randomly across the Damon&Jo channel a few years ago through some youtube recommendations... I'm sure this video will help so many people! spread love
I love coming back to this video. Thanks boo
straight up this video made me burst into tears. thank you. you said everything i needed to hear today to feel okay and valid
Yes, yes and yes to all of this. But also, I'm loving the mise en scene in this video. The editing and outfit. You are GLOWING
Damon always has the best intros
Always a sigh of pleasure when a vlog hits!
“it makes you think your coming out will be that way” i recently came out to my mom as bisexual bec my sister came out as gay first and i was only comfortable to after she did because my mom said she could care less who we love. i always knew my mom didn’t care but i think that fear was still instilled in me.
Yes!!! You articulate it so well.
Thank you for this particular one. I love it!
The way Damon curates videos is just so clean and smooth. Lav it
your thinking 🤝 my thinking!! love u dude, keep on stating facts!
I could listen to you talk about anything. I love your perspective on life and literally just want to be your friend 🥺
i fucking love this energy bless you for this ❤️+ that damn hat metaphor is great, the hat deserves to be in a museum!
this is the shittt! like sorry, was i loud talking about my own life, and my own relationships, in my home, from my heart? it literally doesnt affect anyone else.
your videos are always IMPECCABLE 🖤🖤🖤 editing king with a good ass narrative
This video describes what goes on in my head almost every day! I try to surround myself with people that question everything or think beyond what they know.
100% agree with everything you're saying! Love the video Damon!! xoxo
I am so glad you are this relaxed about your sexuality... it’s such a good way of thinking and i agree with all that you’ve said
Thanks Damon. It's extremely satisfying to see somebody question so much so many absurd beliefs that we carry on a daily basis just out of habit.
I just came across this channel.
AND I'M HERE FOR IT!
You decide your own worth!! Thanks Damon.
You always say the most insightful and perfect points, and are funny! Love this video!! (as always)
you don't know how much i needed this today, my fbi agent or the ~algorithm~ really over here looking out. im bi on the low and having discussions w my fam trying to advocate how much (other) people's "lifestyle's" doesnt fucking matter is exhausting esp when our country uses the marriage contract to weild rights that non-contract holders can't access. like if u not ognna change the institurion of marriage stfu and let people live.
This might have been the most important video to my life I have ever seen. Like... literally I cannot thank you enough for putting all those thoughts that I have had into words- and then making it hilarious AF too, that rly didn’t hurt 😂
His videos are super aligned. I love it. Simply explained but powerful messages ❤️
