Also, I have to say that Tim Curry is just an absolute treasure. I honestly believe his performance in Rocky Horror is the most iconic performance of the 20th century.
You guys need to do 90s fmv game "Ripper". Cyberpunk Jack the Ripper story with main character played by Christopher Walken. Also starring Burgess Meredith, Paul Giamatti, and several other crazy names.
I'd love to see that, I never played it, but I saw the trailer on a Demo Disc (feeling old) and it's the first time I heard Blue Oyster Cult's epic Don't Fear The Reaper.
@@JonathonWest-te4sj heh, I played it and it was the first time I ever heard that song. I remember you had to listen to the lyrics and move symbols in order based on "the wind, the sun, and the rain" line. 😁😂
Finally I have more evidence that the only way to make a great game is to include full motion footage of Tim Curry. But now I can never forgive Andy or Luke because at the start of the stream they failed to mention that Tim Curry was in the greatest film ever made, Muppet Treasure Island.
Old person here - there was an American Wendy's ad campaign in the early 80's that featured, "Parts is parts." It was regarding chicken nuggets, & implied that it didn't matter what bits went in to nuggets at lower quality establishments (McDonald's), but that THEIR nuggets were all breast. So, a reference, I guess? Thanks for another successful year of Hallowstreams! As always, you've been one of my favorite parts of spooky season. Already looking forward to next year, and hoping you can source a PSVR2 for a Luke & Andy's FMVR Zone for the 7th Guest (by all reports, NOT just chess puzzles).
For "life stone" to have an atomic number of 86, it would have to be a noble gas with a melting point of roughly 200°K, or roughly -70°C (-95°F). Meaning it would be basically impossible for it to be a stone outside of a pressurized environment.
I may have failed to make it through the framing device about the creation going to live in the Arctic, but I feel like the point of Frankenstein was the Doctor’s mistreatment of basically his son, and not that the creature was just completely the fullly developed person the brain came from, right?
i know luke and andy didn't believe when people called this "a strong finish" but tbh this has, without a doubt, been my favorite part of hallowstream, closely followed by dracula unleashed :D
poor Luke looks like this broke him but i liked how he said nothing and just put up the end stream thing, i can't believe i'm saying the FMV without Tim Curry in it was the better one this hallowstream
BTW, watching Ian’s playthrough of the first part of The Third Guest in VR it does look like they’ve fixed some/most of the more frustrating bits. I’d guess the radon reference is about how it was viewed when first discovered. People really did think radioactive things were health giving, until the awful truth became obvious. Poor Marie Curie’s coffin is lead because her remains are still dangerously radioactive. P.S. I’m so sorry Andy’s FMV Zone seems to have been cursed this year by the tech goblins. I hope your blood pressures are OK.
Very true, did a whole historical first person interpretation theater project on how the element Marie Curie’s discovered, radium, ended up killing dozens, of not hundreds of young, often immigrant, women and girls due to its use in the paint they used in their factory jobs. They were called the Radium Girls, and the cases they brought against the companies they worked for were some of the significant moments in the fight for workers rights and better health & safety measures. I’ve explained it in not a great way, but there’s a wonderfully written book called, fittingly, “The Radium Girls: The Dark Story of America’s Shining Women,” that explains it significantly better.
My Dad ended up with a rare form of mandibular (jaw) cancer, because of how fabulous new radiation applications were being used in dentistry in the 50's. Science: the cause of, and solution for, so many of our problems.
Yeah 7th Guest VR looks like an actually good game, and the way they seem to have integrated the original FMV in 3D is seriously impressive. I desperately want to see them do the same thing for some of my favourites. Microsoft has the rights to Zork now after acquiring Activision, I'd love for Zork Nemesis to get the same treatment, as done well the full ambience in 3D with its phenomenal music could be incredible.
This game made me consider that if this falls under "FMV," Myst would technically count, too. And now my head hurts. Editing to add, now that I've seen the end: Someone needs to put together a walkthrough that's just Tim Curry barking which direction to turn at any given time.
I'm about an hour into the video, does Luke ever realize that when he's clicking on the doors it's not making him walk through the door, it's just making him take a step forward so he can then turn and finally walk through the door. Every time he tries clicking on a door up and to the side he seems a little confused when he turns and sees a door. For instance- 32:57 , 38:42 and most clearly 40:50 Watch his reaction when Andy says "and through that door on the left." , Once Luke turns and sees the door he's completely lost again because he thought he just walked through the "door on the left" but all he did was take a step forward which is why he seems confused to just be facing a dead end since he thinks he just walked into a room. It's funny how much it seems to mess with him if you just watch the mouse cursor and where he's clicking combined with his confusion on just this type of door you can notice when he's just doing what Andy says because Luke is lost but Andy is totally following it and I don't think he realizes Luke's issue yet. I'm looking forward to this next hour+. 😅👍
I really enjoyed watching this, hoping you continue it later on. Perhaps Andy should have a 10 or 15 minute timer for saving progress in the future...?
