This comment slammed me back into my marriage. My husband took 5x as long in his morning and evening routines than I did and was obsessed with his looks. At the beginning of our relationship, he loved that I didn't wear makeup as he considered wearing it to be a sin. But by the end of the marriage, he was angry at me for not wearing makeup, and threatening me with affairs with women he worked with who had weekly manicures and makeup. I am so thankful for our divorce.

My friends who used to bring sick people from Gaza to a hospital in Israel were kidnapped to Gaza. There are very difficult feelings. This makeup routine is Intensely Millenial in a way that I find hard to describe but am feeling deeply validated by. Like, just concealer and highlighter? That's what I was doing in high school in 2007 before there were makeup tutorials. And dare I say, could that simple drugstore routine be honorable in its own right?

It is a feeling! Sometimes you can be all done up and still feel like trash, or the inverse. I’d the surface level tricks help - then more power to you :) but ultimately, of course it’s an attitude of self compassion
Yes girl on not following skincare advice online for your skin concerns! Most are not effective enough for skin concerns and it’s a waste of money and time because our skin doesn’t react the same or they overhype results. I also upgraded to a high end lip balm (Dior) and it was a gamechanger!

I use the same mascara except not water proof, thanks for your tip!! I wondered why my eyelashes never stay curled!!! Super annyoning! Also, I love Esther Perel and her story!! The first time I heard her was on a Brene Brown’s podcast!! Esther is AMAZING and so are you!!
I also have a tiny ceramic box for earplugs to keep "the night voices" at bay lol. I actually got the idea for it from your baby teeth trinket box lol. I thought, "Why not keep something unsightly and somewhat weird (ie. Earplugs) in a pretty ceramic?!" And I also love a good thrifted purse-- I love it for getting neutral real leather bags--plus I love more sustainable fashion personally. Also love doing tone on tone for outfits. And the perfect mascara and a little lip tint are my go-to's (a long with blush--which is totally "instant pretty"). Thank you for the laughs and amazing fun content as per usual.
