Not enough damage?
*FASCISM*
😭
Hey, if you can't beat the Fasc why not join them?
Based.
That’s what we did in America…works great
@@novas-requiem
America has never had a fascist government
Can someone atleast appreciate the loop?
It's a very clean loop!
Haha - thank you! I was quite proud of that one XD
@@speedmanplays I concur.
Sorry mate, you missed it by a second
My samurais holding the forest hills with all bonuses against a tank: 😐
Learned something new with the Listening Post Spy operation! Good info!
Glad to hear! More to come
Do it with a Secret Agent for +6 combat strength!
@@Sascha5 Ooooooo, I need to try it!
Mongolia doubles this diplomatic visibility bonus to +6 as well! Great, subtle bonus
@@wintertrance :O
That sounds really good in the mid-late game!
It's only called a support bonus on the defense. On the attack, it's called your flanking bonus.
This! The devil is in the detail.
it is needed to research the military tradition first to open the flanking and support bonus. Even though it happens very early in the game it would still good to notice in the video, because you could skip that to research something else.
@@SaintTrident yeahh depends on ur priority, which depends on wut civ did u play
@@SaintTridentmaneuver is already 😊
I knew some of these, but I had no idea diplomatic visibility gave you combat bonus. So THAT’S what the listening post operation is for. Thanks for the tip! I’ll definitely be trying this out.
Remember to level your spy to level 3 - it count's as +6 instead of +3!
Same
@@UrsaRyanYou forgot about crusades
I won cultural victory everytime in last two years by 1700's😂
Correction: AT is Anti-cav not Melee but Oligarchy does boost both types and also Ranged but the promotion class, not all ranged attack units like Siege
Also the diplomatic visibility boost makes Catherine better at war than you’d expect and means printing is important for war
I love how my feed is now full of civ6 content, this will forever be used in my saves 🤩
Plan on doing a science victory, play as Aztecs, find Maui turn 5, ugh guess i gotta do domination now.
Perfect masterclass :o
Thank you soooo much for this! I really appreciate that you share valuable snippets of info like these, I usually can't spare the time for longer videos and these shorts usually have game changing info. You're the best!!!
Glad it was helpful!
Terrain is also super helpful. If it looks like combat between units might take place over multiple turns, I'll park my unit on a hill or in a forest for that defensive bonus. By that same token, if the enemy unit is in a defensible spot, I might try to goad them out because the AI is dumb like that. If an enemy unit makes the mistake of ending its turn in a marsh or a floodplain, that's an excellent opportunity to take a potshot or two with some extra damage.
Yep - defending is always a great thing to consider if you're not able to push = ) Even fortifying for a few turns is a huge bonus
Fighting on the defensive is also a great way to not squander exp.
If attacking means you level up, defending also means you level up, meaning if you attack, your unit hits max exp, and damages itself, then it's vulnerable, since it's hp is low, and it isn't fortified. So when an enemy attacks you, you can't get the exp, and your unit might literally just die.
Always utilize this.
I wish I would have seen these earlier. I’ve been slowly understanding these just by playing more. Thanks for sharing
Great tips! I think you can get even more with a great general from the right era, unit promotions, and if you're in a dark age there is a policy card twilight valor which is another +5
Simple and straight to the point. Perfect!
Because everyone knows that, to beat tanks, you run up to them & hit you with your javelin
As an extra: if you both follow different religions, you can use the war of religions military policy card for a further +4 bonus 😅
I never realized it could end up this easy. I kinda always be up swarming them anyway with melee or range/siege units lol
For more diplomatic visibility, you can send a trade route (out of war) or a delegation beforehand and if they dont have one with you u get the bonus
Useful info! Thanks!
Great tips!
Glad it was helpful!
I didn't even know diplomatic visibility gave you +3!
It stacks as well!
Honestly super helpful, I never think that extra 5 or 10 attack will do that much but clearly it does
+10 is roughly double damage to put it in perspecitive - very handy!
That's impressive!
Don't forget to plant troops into defensive terrain like hills and trees. It will give them a defense bonus for when their troops attack yours. Once you learn how to manipulate the AI, they will be throwing their troops into brick walls the whole time.
Defend is a lot stronger than attack, totally agree!
You can fight in an enemy border converted to your religion, with the crusades belief its an aditional +10 + a great general another +5 with the promotion against meele units+ 3 light cabarlys with flanquing bonuses promotion for a total of 44 combat strenght bonus
Basegame is bad at explaining flanking and diplo visibility. Wish it weren't that way.
Crusades give +10 cs as well if you spread your religion to the city in question (Only works within the enemies borders)
I've played civ6 for almost 500 hours but still haven't gotten the domination victory in deity. Is there more information like this?
more to come!
If you're finding domination victories difficult...play Basil.
Warlord +5
I once killed a superior heavy cavalry unit with horseman in 1 hit. The horseman has +4 flanking bonus, surrounded the enemy with 6 units, and have a general. That's +25 bonus. (forgot the exact units used, this was in vanilla)
It's awesome the things you can do!
For extra bonus points, pick Basil II as your civ and have a few cities under your religion. Oh and pick up the crusade belief if you wanna just be evil.
I was playing with spain and by the time I unlocked conquistadors I was making almost 300 gold per turn (standard speed), plus -40% discount on purchasing them with gold and full damage to walls from city state bonuses, I could buy 1 every other turn. Strength, they had:
58 (base)
+10 (adjacent holy unit)
+10 (crusade, or +5 if not your religion)
+5 (great general)
+4 (oligarchic legacy)
+3 (diplo visibility, I had printing before everyone)
So I got a 90 combat strength unit without resource upkeep in early renaissance. I one shotted a few cities.
They are silly powerful units! Just need to avoid the renaissance walls!
You didn't mention great generals!
You said not bad at all just like sniffing brit
I've never once selected fascism because i hate it so much IRL. ive also never used a nuke. i usually use crusade if i want to win wars. but i should explore some of these combos
Enjoy the fact that this is a game and not irl :) if anything, it teaches you just how bad these things really are!
@@UrsaRyan for sure! it's just instinctual disgust, not an intellectually sound conscious choice. but watching your channel inspires me to be more creative :) are the mods that you use listed anywhere?
choose saladin to double flank
Why are the units helmet different is that a mod?
I would never be a fascist
So many small details you learn each time 🤔🤔🤔
Facism always come in clutch😏
o.0
Your anti-tank crew is an anti-cavalry unit, not a melee unit. 🤓
Melee unit specifically refers to the swordsman/musketman line of units. While they deal melee based damage in the fact that they take damage when they attack units, if the game says melee units it only means the swordsman->musketman type units, or any with the same promotion tree as them.
why not move the attacking unit into the forest too, wouldn’t that give an additional defensive position?
That would only work if the opponent was attacking you - we're talking here about you attacking = )
Isn't AT crew anti-cavalry and not a melee unit?
it's both, and one, depending on the definition!!
I thought Anti-Cavalry counted separately from Melee?
A lot of things apply to both but anti cavalry get +10 against cavalry and -10 against melee
It's a very strange definition! If you read the card, Oligarchy does boost anti-cav XD THere are two definitions of melee - melle the troop type and melee the anything that attacks directly and lives on land
How can you easy way strengthen up your soldiers? - Change your government to the fascism!
It's a naughty strat but it checks out!
Hold up..... i can put non purple cards in the purple slots? Lol. Ill have to try it. Might help......
Haha, they're called wildcards for a reason! XD
@@UrsaRyan yeah it makes sense NOW. Lol. Just started playing it. I bought it on the switch like a year ago but never played it. It was on sale for really cheap but now I wish I had gotten it on PC.
Anti tank crews are not melee units…. They are anti cav.
There are two definitions of melee in Civ 6 - melee, aka not anti cav (agree), but also melee, which includes anti cav and melee. I'm referring to the latter. Thanks CIv for being so clear! XD
Weird
Naw my domination victories came with me making all my cities produce units and using overwhelming force to win

Legit didn’t notice that they had country specific uniforms on the units… 🥹
