The tired rotting iterator, half dead and inactive, is unable to speak nor help the living corpse that is the pup.
The child may have the same personality, but no memories. Despite that, the pup will always have the same subconscious of dread, where early death should be sought after.
Though he feels nothing to put through the iterator into such terrible obsession, for the child did not know nor learn anything about consequences. All until she came back to life.

hi lol. I kinda headcanon that youngins aren't set in the reincarnation cycle until they survive till adulthood, since they're newly existing to this world.
Monk and Survivor may have just entered adulthood, hence the karma and achievements are newly available. Hunter was just created by NSH too, or he has died many times before he reached the start of that mode.
We do barely see any babies around for any creatures, and noodleflies and centis(maybe spiders too) may have the instinct to lay eggs a lot to combat their many babies being eaten a lot whom couldn't mature for the reincarnation cycle.
I know pups were a scrapped idea, so maybe they were in the same situation. Just an idea

I read the comics and I'm just trying to piece it all together.
So basically, This scug got abandoned by their parents for being too much of a burden, and always wandering about and disobeying instructions.
They eventually found company with an iterator, who dedicated their life to this slugpup.
This iterator worked tirelessly to ensure the safety of his scug, but the scug saw this tiring the same as his parents. The scug thought it was their fault for making the iterator so restless, and that they were being a burden, all the same as they were to their parents.
And so it ended it's life, in hopes of freeing the iterator from it's burden.
This sent the iterator insane, and many cycles were spent attempting to devise a plan to resurrect the pup. The iterator caught the rot in its insanity, and once success would finally be wrought, it would succumb to the infection.
Fuckin dark. I love it.

I am very impressed because now that downpour came out and slugpups got added, your headcanon about the pups not being part the karma cycle until they mature has been proved correct. I've never heard of something like that before and it seems insane to me that you just figured it out!

Although Five Pebbles still claims that all living things experience the cycle, all the way down to microbes. TBH the cycle is a bit inconsistently defined as Moon implies the cycle causes everyone to come back shortly after death, including the Iterators, but the Iterators were forbidden from breaking the self-destruction taboo, an action that would be pointless if they simply came back after death.
This song tears my soul from inside way I like it. I heared a lot of different sad things but this one have definitely something really special. And in fusion with this animation.. No comments t-t

When rivulet got reincarnated as a slugbot
now at rain world downpour i now realized they couldn't leave or anything so they had no choice but to either try to find a way out or be in a endless loop of trying so they had no choice but to ascend im crying rn
pups are no longer scrapped. they can be found after you complete the Gourmond food achievement and complete his rotundness's route. Rainworld has the Downpour dlc where gourmond and 4 other new slugcats exist.

I would play this character and probably be very sad from the roboscug slowly losing power over the course of the 10 minute loop and passing out, resulting in a game over. With the recent release of downpour re-adding slug pups, I think it would be interesting to see how roboscug would interact with other pups. Maybe if they also got the same ending as Gourmand and returned to the Slugcat tree on the western outskirts, they could get help from the other slugcats?

I know this is random but i want a slugcat that’s a failed 5P experiment where a scug got in during his experiments and became a DLL hybrid. You can control it, but if you press your grab button midair your body contorts violently and tendrils shoot out of holes in your body, allowing you to scale walls with your legs

It's kinda funny how that one part of pups not being part of the cycle seems to be pretty much canon now that Downpour released
You are not the only one here that headcanons younglings not being stuck in the cycle. I am here too. I always think: "If a slugpup is less than 49 cycles old, it will not respawn, so it MUST be protected at all costs." In this youtube comment I will not be including an entire fanmade wikipedia article about slugpups and how to raise them from the beginning. However, do take note that respawning is slightly broken in different cycles, and that if a slugpup is about 100 cycles or older, it will probably respawn randomly even if they don't know how to properly survive without the support of an older slugcat, prefferrably their mother or father. They mostly find their way back, but that is not guaranteed. Most slugcats or slugpups don't know when they are finally stuck in the cycle, mostly every slugcat thinks older than 50 cycles. That made me think: "What if Artificers children WERE stuck in the cycle, but respawned in the wrong shelter and they just never found Arti again?" If I were a mod coder, my dream mod I would spend ages on, would add WAAY too many slugcats, and those would probably include Artificers pups from when they have grown up, with a cutscene and everything to make things clearer about who they are. (Then again, the family tree of all slugcats in my headcanon is chaos, all of the 10 vanilla RWDP slugcats are all related to eachother in some way, either above or below the family tree with only the ge erations of the official slugcats. It, is CHAOS)
