I was android for well over a decade, switched 1 year ago to iphone 14 pro, switching back now. LOTS AND LOTS of stuff left out of this video. I like my apple watch ultra, but since it is part of the apple cult it has to go as well.
@@PeteMatheson I like your videos and I understand you have to make the titles the way they are because of the algorithm, but maybe it says more about how UA-cam works than the content creators. The persistent need to get viewers eyeballs on their videos amongst increased competition makes a worse experience for everyone.
@@alexpiptom It’s always been known that unconventional titles usually don’t get the views as much as what I call a “Cloned Title”. As someone who studied Business marketing, I know firsthand how uncreative titles get more opinions than creative titles. I also tested that theory before, and the results are night and day.
I also used it for my entire life, and I'm exhausted with all of the problems. I'm switching 🤷🏽♂️ I'm done with my Samsung S22Ultra that works like a mid-ranger
i bought a s23 ultra last month... having worst experiance ever... previously LG and oneplus user... those were kinda smooth compared to this expensive buggy mess I bought
Android user from nexus 4 to Pixel 5, never have an issue. Used Iphone 13 mini for the last year, keyboard is not great and notifications are a pain, IOS is not that great IMO.
I am not understanding the comments about "crashing" "buggy apps" "sluggishenss" . My Samsung is a beast and it "just works" in my opinion. I was an iPhone user since the first iPhone and tried a flagship Samsung phone and never have been disappointed.
I don't understand this statement either. People with iPhones say there are no bugs and it's so smooth but I have owned a iPhone 13 and there were apps that crash and don't work properly at all. All phones have some problems including Samsung. Point is the iPhone has problems just like every other phone
@@PRFECT11 You may need to update Chrome itself. On my windows desktop I though Chrome was broken as it would load very slowly. Turns out once you update Chrome it works.
I agree with most of what you say. I was recently 'forced' to use an iPhone and was pleasantly surprised as to how every single app worked and behaved. Delightful. But I just had to get an android for my needs. Google Assistant, fantastic call screening just took the cake. The biggest reason I continue with Android is their notifications. I have an iPad and during my 8-9 months of using the iPhone, I kept missing notifications. So, for ME, Pixel is the clear winner.
@@MrBlack-cd1ot currently, discord,go puff, tik tok, some game apps, prime video, Hulu not using my whole screen. Crashes discord bugging out on the UI, janky tik tok. iPhone just has better app optimization
If there are any notifications I really need to view, I’ll go to settings -> notifications -> then I select the app, and set it to persistent. Basically, the notification won’t go away from the top of the screen until I click it. Or I’ll turn on my ringer (I have AirPods on a lot).
If iOS had some of the pixel features id switch ASAP. The call screening feature is something I use often and love. Also if apple would let the user easily customize their app layout and home screen.
I agree that call screening would be a great feature on iPhone. I think the delay is due to Apple lagging a bit with AI. I think Apple has some interesting customisation features nowadays. You can remove "Home Screen" icons and still have the app accessible in the app screen... I forget the same - swipe to the very right.
Homescreen customization and keyboard customization. The two missing things that keep me away from iPhone. I envy lots of things about the iphone and would love to use one, but these have been deal breakers.
@@hobosnake1 It's funny how I feel like customization is such an easy fix for them. Just add a setting that allows you to import custom icons for apps, and then let the community go wild. As for keyboard, just add a keyboard that is similar functionality wise to Android, but put it behind a setting so that for those that want it, they can go turn that on, while people used to the current keyboard can just stay with it. It annoys me how little Apple would have to do to break through the market. RSC messaging and side loading, is apparently coming to iOS in later versions, which is HUGE for iOS to do. I think as we run into a hardware brick wall, and most people are struggling to see it being worth it upgrading their phones, especially with each new phone design basically being the same, Apple switched to all these customization and experimental features all of a sudden (focus modes, lock screen/home screen in-built switching, widgets, remove app instead of delete, and a bunch more settings for a custom experience). All they are really lacking is multiple volume sliders, custom icons, move apps on any tile on home screen, and some extra options when saving/sharing/taking photos. I wonder what the future will look like once iOS meets Android in the middle in terms of features, but is still at the top of performance and optimisation?
The biggest tech propaganda is that iPhones are simpler and bug free. Sad that many just take reviewers' word and run with it. The few times I've used an iPhone got me wondering why so many people love that phone so much when current android just does so many things much easier.
LOVE THIS! Spot on!!! Why "I" switched. I tried to go back to Apple, but for ME, it was a horrible experience. I have come to the conclusion that I much prefer Android (and I've used both systems for years). Do what you want, and use what you like and what works for you. Whenever folks would ask me which is better for photography, Canon or Nikon, my answer would always be: "Do you have any glass from either; if you do, stick with that brand. If you do not, go to a store and play with both; they feel different and some folks prefer the feel of one over the other. Get whichever one you like more."
@@PeteMatheson Yes it seems they need outside reassurances that the phone they prefer is the best phone to ever exist. I personally have an iPhone 14pm, and a S23 ultra. Awaiting my IPhone 15 pm to arrive Friday and I’ll trade in the 14pm. I use both Apple and android on and off, I say use what makes you happy not what everyone else thinks!
As someone who mainly uses a Google Pixel, all your reasonings to switching back are absolutely reasonable. Out of all your points, the first one is where Apple just crushes it. Apps! App developers love the straightforward nature of making apps for Apple. However, if an app developer wants to broaden their consumer market for their product, they should take care not to burn any bridges with Android users. I know I myself don't bother with apps or products that I can't use on my Android devices, which means I'm one potential customer they just lost. I'm sure I'm not the only one.
As an app developer I can tell you that developing for the iPhone is a real pain. Xcode is slow and cumbersome and you are locked into MacOS unlike android where a Dev PC can be 20 cores if I need it be. Dev tools are mostly free for android apps but paid on MacOS and in a corporate environment it's not easy to submit security approvals for applications. I generally develop and optimise for android before moving onto iPhones although I know some Devs go the other route.
I'm pretty sure the only reason most developers make their app for Apple first is because that os is used by only one company. The thing with Android is that it is used by a multitude of companies, not just samsung.
Among the reasons I missed iOS when I initially switched to the S23 Ultra were because of the app named "Documents" by Readdle being not available on Google Play, and also iMovie. But the past is past, I've moved on. Not so much of an advocate of iOS or Android - I love them equally. Being a fanboy or sheeps from both sides are just plain childish. Some just never grow up. Considering the amount of money I've paid for these phones I've used, I don't think the trashings from others matter at all.
After the latest apple update, My Readdle calendars was wiped clean-no backup nothing/ Nada/niente. Now I'm Going to pixal 8pro and making the plug to google calendar-backup online. I do not trust any Raddle app.
@@stevenr5149 that's a sad news, sorry to hear that you've to deal with that problem. Lately I somehow have forgotten about Readdle and have moved on to Google One for everything.
2:50 over 100% battery capacity isn't impossible. Batteries have a nominal capacity and a margin, which is usually 50 mAh. So, for example, you could get the lottery where you have a phone with a rated nominal 3000 mAh battery, but an actual capacity of 3050 mAh, which is 101.6% of the nominal capacity. Which explains the 102%!
iPhone having the USB C gives it an advantage now. But I'm still being held back by iPhone poor photo organisation. There's still 7 years of photos sitting unorganized from my old iPhones in my backup folder. I could organize the photos into folders easily on my Android and just copy them out into my windows PC.
Install Google Photos on your iPhone. Organize it as you see fit. Also, Google Photos is on both platforms so if you wanted to switch in the future then you could. Never go for software that is exclusive to one platform or brand. In the long run you'll regret it.
You talk about Android to copy into Windows PC. I said, buy an Ipad tablet (m4) or a Mac (m3) and just see how fast the AIRdrop works with your Iphone.
I have loved my switch from iphokw to the pixel, but I will say after about 8 months, the one thing I still notice is how almost all apps, especially social media, just behave and look better on iPhone. It's not a deal breaker, but definitely frustrating.
Yeah, its possible for the actual maximum capacity to be more than the stated, nominal capacity. That's what 102% means. Its not impossible. It just means that the manufacturer quoted the capacity as 4000mah, but it measured 4080mah.
I’m a US Veteran and having direct access to my VA record as soon as changes are available is one of the reasons I stick with iPhone. Furthermore, my banking app is miles ahead of its android counterpart. CarPlay is way better too, having a button popup when I’m close to home to open my garage door is just awesome. I’ve always liked android but my experience is too solid on IOS and leaving the ecosystem is not an option for me.
@@pr1me_78 The real secret behind Android phones is that they serve the majority of the Third world with average salaries $300 a month. These hundreds of millions use cheap $100-150 Android phones because they can't afford more expensive phones. Those Pixels phones exist simply to play with muscles. Google doesn't really need Pixel line. They make it for Prestige.
I also agree on most of your points. Me "a blood bound Android user since...EVER" am now switching to iPhone. Also not because i like the device or cameras better (I will miss my 10x from the Galaxy S23 ultra!!) but just that apple has everything running. It is boring as f*** but as I am also getting "older" I have less time and also less desire to constantly configure and workaround technical issues. I am not saying I will never return, because I really really like customizing my OS and that is quite not possible on IOS to the extend I desire. Also the extend of sniffing in my private life Google is doing really gets out of controll... So ...2024 will be my first IOS Year and I am really curious how this goes because I really am an apple h8ter :-) (mainly for the company politics they apply on their products and users and developers and also for the astronomic prices....and because so many people just buy it as a status symbol and only use 10% of itz functions and eco system)
In the same boat as you, used a oneplus 6 for four years and now using the iphone 15. Its not as perfect as people make it out to be, ios 17 is actually buggy in a few ways. Maybe a little less than android, but the bugs are there at times. Also 60hz on this phone is fluid but not fast. My oneplus 6 can still keep pace with it even though the animations are not as consistent.
Curious how that's going for you 4 months later. I have a Pixel 6 Pro which has so many bugs, charges slowly, etc. Then I was considering buying an Apple TV 4K as a streaming device... And it got me thinking: why not make the switch? None of the flagship Android phones are appealing to me anymore. Also getting "older" and not as interested in customization, haha. But then there's that nagging feeling about joining the "cult" and the status symbol issue (even though for us savvy people, it's not about that at all!)
Great video. I use both iPhone 13 Pro Max and Samsung Galaxy S23U, and I have never experienced any of the issues you have with my Samsung phone or Watch. Yes, Social Media apps are not optimized for Android but I really enjoy using my Galaxy over my iPhone. I find myself leaving my iPhone in my backpack or pocket more often than my Samsung.
The opposite is true in India for app availability. Most apps and services are built with Android users in mind to target most of the market and then available on iPhone.
I live in Australian and here all apps are more focused on ios than android and they are kinda same price as well i have both s23 ultra and iphone 15 and ios is much superior. I know its opposite in india
Ok but not sound mean.. but it’s just that India has so many poor people and android is more accesible so of course it will be the most used system. Makes sense
@@iamjiroe ok, let me ask you this: Would these people switch to Iphone because of whatever features it provides in 2023 or just for the sake of having an Apple Phone which is viewed as a status symbol in India..? I'll tell you, it's the latter one. Most of the guys who buy an Iphone in countries like India don't even know the Refresh rate of their devices, let alone features. They just buy it for the sake of Showing off and bragging about it. People like me, on the other hand, who closely follow newer Technologies and Advancements in the Technological world, I would definitely go for something like a Pixel 8 Pro or an S24 Ultra just for the sake of Experiencing real INNOVATION. (And not first time using a USB C 🤭😂). And btw, I live in Pune, India, thus such statements.✌️
I remember using an iPad 2 for 7 days. I realized I couldn't submit myself to a jail. People here in India, who actually work and want get stuff done use Android and Windows. Those who like to use iPhones for whatever reason, always carry an Android phone alongside because Android let's you do what you want to by hook or by crook! Using a Galaxy S20 FE 5G, cost me, 250 pounds, does what I want and more. If I don't like the camera for a certain usecase, I switch to Google Pixel Mod, I want to transfer high speed data - I got USB 3, I want to manage files and organize them - I got a real file manager, I want to use my phone apps on a large screen I got Samsung Dex,I want to block ads I got ways to achieve that as well, I want to sideload - sure go ahead, I'm running out of space shooting 4KHDR10 - not a problem I got SD card support! If you grew up in a walled garden it's fine, but once you experience the freedom you can't go back! Android and Windows are far more versatile and has better features:performance ratio than iOS:MacOs and that counts the most.
I don't want to choose between the features I value the most !! I want them all in one phone !! Why is that so much to ask??

Absolutely the best “I am switching “ video I came across for years. Yes. Honestly! Because it’s in the end YOU who is switching and I am currently collecting my own personal pros and cons on this topic.
Great video very honest i do find a lot of videos biased either to Apple or android how ever much they say their not. But yours was well balanced both sides
Thanks Robert! We're all at least a bit biased, whilst I'm enjoying having fun with the whole Apple vs Android thing, they're all both great and it just comes down to personal preference!
Nice video. So I’ve tried to switch to android and failed at least three times. I still have a pixel as a back up. However, the more I research Apple as a company, and how they take advantage of their ignorant customers, the more determined to switch to android. Apple is starting to feel slimy.
@@PeteMatheson Same, I'm trying to switch to android but I'm already too deep in the apple ecosystem. Like I have an apple watch, MacBook, iPhone and air pods. And iCloud is so nice to use on my apple devices, it just works so seamlessly across all my devices. And I can't afford to just buy an android ecosystem. So that's just why I'm staying with apple. But if I was not deep in the ecosystem, I would immediately switch to android.
Have been using both, switching time to time. Every has pros and cons Android: flexible, more connectable, slightly less optimisable, buggy iPhone: more polished, optimisable apps, stable but bored
To summarise the reasons for iPhone: A third party battery app misreads on someone else’s phone. A coffee app was slow. I go to the gym. (?) Too much choice for fitness apps. “It just works” Android has loads of features but iPhone has some of them too.
I think you encapsulated precisely what has kept me using the iPhone ever since the 4S. I know Samsung flagships and other Android phones have many cool features and better hardware and so on, but in the end what matters for me is exactly what Apple manages to create in a phone. Everything just works the way I want it to, and even if I could customize my iPhone 10x more as some Android users would have mentioned is possible on their devices, there is almost nothing I want to change on it anyway.
I wish I could say the same thing. Everything just takes one or more steps to accomplish in ios. Selecting text is painful. Notifications are a mess, the gallery or "roll camera" photos are another mess. I could go on
@@razan3304 He isn't wrong. There are some things that you do have to pay for which you shouldn't. And this is coming from someone who used the 13P and switched to the pixel 8.
Only thing I wish Apple to fix on iPhones is the option to remove the camera short cut from the lock screen without having to disable the camera as a whole! I don't know how many times I have opened the camera by mistake or notice the camera has been running in my pocket. Been waiting 3 years now but seems like noone cares or keeps telling me "never happens to me".
my last iphone was the iphone 5.........i do love the s23 ultra. it has been rock steady for me. however a part of me wants to try the apple system for a little while again........i dont know if i should though.
I was an android user since the very beginning and I was so tiered of android being buggy laggy, problems always. No proper updates and app crashes and what not. switched to iPhone 14pro last year. No regrets and I am happy.
At 9:38 that is a bug with your gym app. iOS does automatically resume music after a video is done playing in most other apps. I agree that iOS needs better audio controls though.
On the watch front I absolutely agree, I have a Watch 6 and have also used an Apple watch on a 14 pro Max when I made the switch just for something different, it was a night and day difference with the Apple watch being superior
I have BOTH Android and iPhone. I 1st got the Pixel 8 pro back in October of 23 and recently got the IPhone 13 Pro Max on the 13th of January of this year! The 13 is my favorite and lucky number. So I had to get the 13th iPhone and it was GIVEN to me on the 13th lol. See? Lucky number for me lol! I enjoy owning BOTH of them. I just use both within the day. My pixel in the morning and iPhone for most of the day and turn my pixel off and put it away somewhere.
I was a Android user for 4 years. Had a Nokia with only 16 gig, which was on until it started to fill up with Bloatware, along with a basic Huawei tablet. I had enough and got an I pad on eBay, a 2022 SE and an Apple Watch SE2 last year. Buttery smooth and everything works. Traded up to a 13 this year.
I really miss 100x zoom. Thats the best feature of the S series. I love watching people from a mile away. Also miss the back button. Navigating around in Samsung is much easier than iPhone . But I will keep my iphone 14pro for another year since I want to feel young and cool longer
Maybe people would laugh, but for me the key factors of throwing away iphone were weight and unconformable sharp edges. And I had the iphone 14 pro, which is not even so heavy as max. The only two things I liked in iPhone over android, were cameras and airdrop. Now with nearby share from Android and Windows I finally have one reason less to like iphone.
Photo quality is heavily determined by software. Some android OEMs are also making massive leaps in their photos and are now competitive with apple. Huawei is probably better than apple at this point but they're gone in western markets. Google itself (Pixel) is also competitive with Apple. A few years from now and this advance apple had with photos will be gone.
As an actual mobile developer, I can say that I have not met a single person who likes to develop for Apple devices. It is far, FAR easier to develop for Android. The reason a lot of apps are iPhone exclusive is because they have an agreement with Apple.
Your galaxy watch 6 sounds like how I feel with my galaxy watch 4 classic. It's always been super laggy and sometimes just flat out unresponsive. You'd think Samsung would have made it better by now, but I guess not.
You make the same video every time a new phone comes out. It's a bit redundant. Everyone knows what's coming when a new Samsung or Google phone comes out.
Seems like an Isheep, I've been using android on and off for around 12 years now, it has been the more stable OS for me and had none of the issues you mentioned...
Guys relax. He will switch back again tomorrow to android, and then in the same day switch back to iPhone and promise that it would be his last switch. Then after the end of that sentence, he would switch back to android. 10/10 Highly reliable review🤡🤡
I have a 14 Pro Max as a work Phone (provided by my company), and an S23 Ultra as my personal. The S23 Ultra eats the iPhone all day. To the point where I've put the iPhone away and used the dual sim function on the S23 and used it as my only phone.
Having to completely delete an app from the iPhone in order to clear the cache of the app is just baffling to me at this point. Even android has made it harder. Once you had a feature to clear all, but I guess the manufacturer likes cache eating up all space on the phones.
No back button. No numbers row. No pip for almost everything including maps. Almost everything is an extra step on iOS. Foolish punctuation location on keyboard. Swiping different direction in different apps does different things. All my issues with iOS are every day issues. Almost all these benefits are one time fixes on Android. Actually using an iphone is shockingly bad compared to Android. No notification bar. The list is stupidltv long. Swipe is unreliable. Swipe texting is abysmal. Hadn't even figured out the music at the gym thing yet but thanks! That's the every day use stuff that makes it terrible. And if you are forced to use an app that only works on iphone, that's a company problem, not an Android problem. No "close all apps" option, gotta swipe away every single one.
The last iPhone I had was the 5 moved to Android as it was getting a bit expensive with iPhone. Fast forward 11years or so now rocking the pixel 7pro which isn't cheap great phone and camera specially, but I'm thinking now to change back to iPhone 15 pro. Reason I want change is a few reasons similar to yours but also resale or trade in value is way more on iPhones, I change my phones every few years but when it comes to selling it any Android phones they lose 60% plus even after a year which is ridiculous. Also pixels using customized Samsung chips and modems aren't great, the modems are really bad keep getting disconnected. Untill they use a non Samsung modem I'll probably give the iPhone a try. I could go on with more reasons we'll be here all day. yes I know the pixel 8 is coming out soon but not sure if it will be any better with the signal issues.
Been using iPhones for the past few years now and still can't believe how awful the ram management is!!!! I can't jump between multiple apps because they are constantly refreshing. It might be the new iOS update but my Spotify crashes a lot and UA-cam always relaunches after I swipe to another app. Apple putting 4 to 6Gbs of ram on their flagship phones is pretty dawn criminal, apps are only getting bigger and more demanding every update. With that being said I really do enjoy my 14 pro max but its clear to me that Apple's software needs a lot of fixing and honestly a complete rework in some areas.
Precisely! I already use 8 GB of RAM on the S23 Ultra because I use a lot of widgets and background processes. I really need the 12 GB of RAM on my 512GB S23 Ultra.
I had used Samsung smart watches for about 5 years before buying the Apple Watch 6 3 years ago. I've only used that watch since then. Thanks for the heads up concerning the latest Galaxy Watch. I was thinking about buying it for my S23 Ultra.
Any non-jailbroken iPhone is honestly a waste of time. With the time spent bending backover to figure out "the way to do things" that Apple decreed upon you and how you can work around it to suit your use case it's simpler to just stick with Android.
@@dolurosu only a fanboy will argue that more restrictions on your device and possible usage is somehow better or even a matter of "preference" in the first place.

Hi there Pete! Just wanted to comment on the last part of your video re Apple Shortcuts. Of the screenshots you showed, all of that you can do in Shortcuts as well actually! There is another tab in the Shortcuts app called "Automation" and from there you can do the same things - have something happen when you arrive or depart from somewhere; or when the battery is at a specific % or charging/not.¨ Other automation options have to do with alarms, when receiving e-mail/messages from specific people, when connected/disconnected to specific networks or devices, when apps are opened/closed, when the microphones identify a specfic sound (doorbell f.ex) and finally when certain focuses are activated/deactivated 😊 Hope that helps!
I really can't imagine that someone who has an S23 Ultra will switch to the iPhone 15 Pro Max... And this comes from the mouth of a long-time iPhone user...
Pete, have to 100% agree with you on the whole it just works factor. I keep trying the change and currently am using the Z Fold 5 with the Watch 5 Pro, however have been super in happy with the slow performance of the watch. Love your content mate :)
The battery with one hundred and two percent is probably a samsung And don't pull out your pitchforks on me. I am the samsung user myself and I love my s twenty two ultra
As a guy that goes back and forth from iPhone to android i enjoy these videos. Me personally, lately i lean towards iPhone for stability and how seamless all Apple products work together. Android had come a very long way, but I'm much happier on a brand new iPhone 13 i just got than i ever was on the s23 ultra which ive grown to hate. Pixels are my favorite android brand but they are plagued by so many issues i will stick with iPhone until android can improve a bit more.
Apple is simple and provides a rich experience while using , not to mention the best android flagships have such pathetic battery backups . Data security is just so shady overall on Android . Using a galaxy fold and 15 pro
2:45 While it can be bug, it can also be legit. When your battery is rated for 4500 mAh, all batteries have variation. It's just how it is with manufactured products. Some are 4490, some are 4920, some are 4510, and some are 4560. Anything within reasonable margin of error is totally normal and can't be dismissed as app error. It happens with the amount of food you get from packaged food. It happens with CPU and GPU (AKA silicon lottery). 8:20 Android watches are indeed lagging behind Apple both from experience and accuracy of the sensor + algorithm. I also personally like Apple watch more because of rectangular display vs circular. Circle watch looks nice, but Android hasn't been able to make it make sense when it comes to reading how the content or text is displayed.
I have been thinking the same thing. The only thing that keeps me on IOS is my AWU, and that is because it’s new. As soon as my contract runs out, I’m looking at Android.
@@marksharp It is because of 1 app that made me use an iphone but I am an android user for years now. I like to customize my screen and I could not do that properly with an iphone.
I’m switching from iPhone 12 Pro Max to a galaxy s23 fe as my first, apple feels like ‘your’ phone is apples phone and android is one toggle and your phone is yours.
I used to always carry one of each. But It became wearisome with duplication but never really confusing. Now love to carry 2 iPhones.... business vs personal.
I have been tempted to switch to android and get the galaxy s24 ultra, but seeing this makes me appreciate apple and I phone ( my 14 pro max ) more than ever and I don’t want to leave.
I couldn't use a phone, an iphone, that couldn't tell me via Siri how to turn it off. I asked it how since the power button no longer was a power button, but It literally did a web search response on how to turn off an android phone. $20 if you asked your iphone the same question, it would do the same response. I did this query 3 years ago.
I’ve used Android and Apple for years. Last 3 years I’ve used an iPhone and everything Apple. But. Android is different and fun again. So went for a Z fold 5. I’ve got a cheap 30 day rolling on the iPhone and also the z fold. Best of both worlds I guess 😂
I went the other way. Had the iPhone 15 and went with Samsung s23 ultra. IPhone is fixed and cannot do anything with it. Cannot sideload apps. It's to closed. Can can turn my Samsung into an android computer and can run 2 apps at a time. Android is far more powerful and Costuming. My experience with Android is opposite yours, no buggy software. And love my Pixel 2 watch. Yes hate the Samsung snd Garmin watches. It's taken googleva long time to make a decent watch
Just can't do that. The closed ecosystem, the more expensive apps, which are often the same on both, incompatibility with things that aren't Apple, I can go on and on. As someone that worked for a telecommunications company for two decades, it was always Apple that caused every issue; we eventually switched our devices over to Samsung and didn't have any of the issues internally, but still had the issues with the customers 😒 In fact we had a campus that had several laptops that wouldn't connect to the campus wifi. "Let me guess" I said, "do they use Apple devices"? She had a shocked face, "how did you know?". So, coming from someone that worked in tech for most of my career, you can keep Apple 😉
After years of being on Android, since the Galaxy S5, I have finally decided to take the plunge over to iPhone for most of the same reasons. I finally got tired of apps not functioning properly, the mediocre smartwatches, etc. I'll definitely miss how customizable my Samsung is. As well as features like the edge panel. But iPhone's come a long way in terms of customizability. And the usb c finally being added was definitely the tipping point for me
Make sure that you use service apps that are multiplatform. Stuff like Microsoft Onedrive, Google Photos, etc. apple's oldest trick is making you a prisoner of their ecosystem. The USB C will make it somewhat easier to "escape" but I'm sure they will still make it hard. So for apps, don't use apple's own stuff if you value your freedom.
Shared the same thoughts as you, until I get to know about the new Google Pixel 8 Pro. The new P8P is much more interesting than the boring iOS. Man, I cannot even do torrents on my iPhone, unlike my old Pixel!

Youll experience problems when they're easy to find and tempted to move to iOS
I am not understanding the comments about "crashing" "buggy apps" "sluggishenss" . My Samsung is a beast and it "just works" in my opinion. I was an iPhone user since the first iPhone and tried a flagship Samsung phone and never have been disappointed.
It seems he tested other launchers on his phone
I don't understand this statement either. People with iPhones say there are no bugs and it's so smooth but I have owned a iPhone 13 and there were apps that crash and don't work properly at all. All phones have some problems including Samsung. Point is the iPhone has problems just like every other phone
This statement might of been true 5 years ago, but the latest android phones have no issues..especially Samsung and pixel
Finally found a group of people that I could agree with, my ipad often crashes when I open Google Chrome.
What apps do you have issues with on android? Just curious as I have no issues using Android flagship

If there are any notifications I really need to view, I’ll go to settings -> notifications -> then I select the app, and set it to persistent. Basically, the notification won’t go away from the top of the screen until I click it. Or I’ll turn on my ringer (I have AirPods on a lot).
Well yeah because iPhones are just simple and easy to use. Androids do much more. Just preference.
iphones literally got time sensitive that so fast when comes to ur apple devices
You are always popping up on my feed. One day you switch to Android, the next day you switch to iPhone. 😂
anything for clout
If iOS had some of the pixel features id switch ASAP. The call screening feature is something I use often and love. Also if apple would let the user easily customize their app layout and home screen.
I agree that call screening would be a great feature on iPhone. I think the delay is due to Apple lagging a bit with AI.
I think Apple has some interesting customisation features nowadays. You can remove "Home Screen" icons and still have the app accessible in the app screen... I forget the same - swipe to the very right.
wouldn't apply have an app for call screening?
It is finally coming to IOS 18 in fall
Have been using a S23 for the latest few months, zero bugs so far. Before I had iPhone 14 Pro. And honestly I had quite a few bugs.

Yeah buddy, mine is a S23 also, and it's been great so far. Can't complain. Even bought a Galaxy Watch5 Pro, I'm digging Samsung's ecosystem.
The biggest tech propaganda is that iPhones are simpler and bug free. Sad that many just take reviewers' word and run with it. The few times I've used an iPhone got me wondering why so many people love that phone so much when current android just does so many things much easier.
@MultiTacs yeah don't worry they're just all features, not bugs when on iOS.
@@PRFECT11bcus its not often as android, and many people say this just to make bad image to apple
LOVE THIS!

Completely agree, but you can't blame them for taking the easiest route first!
honestly i don't even blame the developers i blame the companies and schools that choose apps that don't work on all devices@@PeteMatheson
@@forumics Thank You for the response. That was informative. It's always nice to hear app developers chime in on these kinds of topics.

This. One of those things that are actually important, but nobody talks about such stuff.
Install Google Photos on your iPhone. Organize it as you see fit. Also, Google Photos is on both platforms so if you wanted to switch in the future then you could. Never go for software that is exclusive to one platform or brand. In the long run you'll regret it.

Let us know how it goes. Kinda in a same situation with a phone switch as you.
My experience is that android is got more flexibility. Why does a phone in 2023 still doesnt allow you to sort apps for folders.

Reliability is why I switched, android would have the strangest glitches with the worst timing.
Hadn't even figured out the music at the gym thing yet but thanks! That's the every day use stuff that makes it terrible.

@@dolurosua lot of people are "fine" with apple because they've never had anything else. And at this point all their content is stuck on iCloud and due to Apple's restrictions there is no easy way to switch. They are stuck in an expensive prison and the service fees go up every year too.
Apple is for people who need to be (governed) told what to do and how to do it
So so true
I’m always swapping from apple to Samsung’s I have the iPhone 15 pro max this year from the s23 ultra and finally some talking about the random crashes and glitches freezers
Hi there Pete! Just wanted to comment on the last part of your video re Apple Shortcuts. Of the screenshots you showed, all of that you can do in Shortcuts as well actually! There is another tab in the Shortcuts app called "Automation" and from there you can do the same things - have something happen when you arrive or depart from somewhere; or when the battery is at a specific % or charging/not.¨
Other automation options have to do with alarms, when receiving e-mail/messages from specific people, when connected/disconnected to specific networks or devices, when apps are opened/closed, when the microphones identify a specfic sound (doorbell f.ex) and finally when certain focuses are activated/deactivated 😊 Hope that helps!
Ah thanks man! Really appreciated Yeah the 5 Pro / 6's are still super slow for me compared to the Apple watch. I just can't get used to them.
there is more choice and freedom on android. maybe just preference.
The battery with one hundred and two percent is probably a samsung
And don't pull out your pitchforks on me.
Pixels are my favorite android brand but they are plagued by so many issues i will stick with iPhone until android can improve a bit more.
why did you hate the s23 uLtra? i/m still torn between the s23 uLtra or ip15pm
@@rinnegan04he's never had the s23 ultra
The S24 is coming out this month January 2024. I'm torn between S24 Ultra of iPhone 15 pro max
'im not switching for the faster charging ' apples charging is like the slowest
Apple is simple and provides a rich experience while using , not to mention the best android flagships have such pathetic battery backups . Data security is just so shady overall on Android . Using a galaxy fold and 15 pro
Apple literally used to have worst battery backup compared to even low ranged smartphones
That thing was fixed only 2 years ago you clown
iPhone does me, still on the 13 pro max and the m1 iPad Pro
Happy enough
I feel like you treat your phone experience like my grandma used to
I can't wait to swap my 13 pro max for a Fold 5. IOS is boring
Great device! I'm loving the Pixel Fold still, even though I know technically the Fold is way better on paper
I have been thinking the same thing. The only thing that keeps me on IOS is my AWU, and that is because it’s new. As soon as my contract runs out, I’m looking at Android.
@@PeteMathesonon paper lol
@@marksharp It is because of 1 app that made me use an iphone but I am an android user for years now. I like to customize my screen and I could not do that properly with an iphone.
I've switched between android and ios a bunch of times. As much as I love the abilities of android, ios is just more stable
I’m switching from iPhone 12 Pro Max to a galaxy s23 fe as my first, apple feels like ‘your’ phone is apples phone and android is one toggle and your phone is yours.
So what's the verdict on these smart flip and fold phones? I haven't been keeping up. Can you trust that they won't break?
Been using one for a few months now. No issues!
I used to always carry one of each. But It became wearisome with duplication but never really confusing. Now love to carry 2 iPhones.... business vs personal.
2 iPhones! Not worth going dual sim and carrying one?
Cuz Apple was made for kids and Android was made for adults
I have been tempted to switch to android and get the galaxy s24 ultra, but seeing this makes me appreciate apple and I phone ( my 14 pro max ) more than ever and I don’t want to leave.
Personal opinion here if you're going from Android to Apple the only reason why you would do it cuz you are losing your intelligence no other reason
@jonny_laguna exactly
Android... Never again no thanks.
I've been a lifelong android user and I'm switching to my first iphone ever in September
What makes you want to switch?
I prefer iOS and android but iOS is better always for me.
Switched to apple and i absolutely hate it. to make things even better right now while im typing this my keyboard starting glitching like crazy
I wonder if Google or another party will attempt to enforce a standard.
I was an iphone fan from 4s to 13 but since i use my pixel 7 for the first time,i dumped my iphone 13
I've been using ASUS Zenfone for quite a few years. I've never experienced these problems.
I'm into android Google ecosystem 💯
Just can't do that. The closed ecosystem, the more expensive apps, which are often the same on both, incompatibility with things that aren't Apple, I can go on and on.
As someone that worked for a telecommunications company for two decades, it was always Apple that caused every issue; we eventually switched our devices over to Samsung and didn't have any of the issues internally, but still had the issues with the customers 😒
In fact we had a campus that had several laptops that wouldn't connect to the campus wifi.
"Let me guess" I said, "do they use Apple devices"?
She had a shocked face, "how did you know?".
So, coming from someone that worked in tech for most of my career, you can keep Apple 😉
You must be the most indecisive clickbaiter ever... 😶
Just another sheep in the herd
This, THIS is it. THE video to show people when they cant decide
And the usb c finally being added was definitely the tipping point for me
That USB-C was what made me leave iphone lol
I have IPhone 14 PM and I CAN do torrents (without jailbreak). It’s just little complicated not impossible…
