Nice job. But you are very brave when working with seal with half moon crankcase retaining "pin" still in. I dropped two of them in the engine when taking the pulley off.

Thanks for up loading and taking time out to do the video. With the woodruff key, did it just stay in place, what happens if it comes out , how do you keep it in place? Thanks

Those PTFE seals should be installed without oil and then leave them a couple of hours to settle to intended form. Those are instructions of Victor Reinz (Elring, etc.) in that matter.

Hi! Doing this myself on a 190D 2.5turbo.. The shaft you're putting back in at 3:26 , is this hold on to it's place just by force and the accesori belt itself?
Did it stay dry after you changed the seal? Read on some forums that you should change both the little shaft and seal to make it not leak again..
    Regards

Badgern Can’t remember for sure but yes I think so.
Yes it is still dry. But its important to use a seal which has a lip offset because of wear marks on shaft.

It did in fact leak after closer inspection. I have replaced the seal again with another which is of another type, it has a wire in it. First attempt it leaked a lot more than before. Then I instead pushed it in 2mm deeper inside and not a drop so far, looks promising!

      nissejokke thanks for the advice😊
I finished the job myself 1,5 hald week ago, and turns out it was steel leaking a little bit as i did a check on it some days ago... I tried to fasten the crank bolt a little thigher yesterday to see if that does the trick🤔
Did you put the Seal flush or close to flush? I did mine close to flush, maybe i Need to tap it a little further in

I hope you realize that, when you "unloosen" something, it means you are tightening something, not loosening.
