It is great to see that sparkies like you give the trade a very good name. I feel the same about old people, they have done their bit for us and it costs nothing to be respectful. Great video as always Nick.
Nick you’re such a nice bloke. Good on you helping people out. There is some tradesman’s that give one day a week out to Help others at no cost. Certain trades are expensive and some do sadly rip people off.
That was very good of you Nick, they probably rang up one of the many call out agencies who subcontract work to third parties and keep a large proportion of the hourly rate for themsleves.
I agree Nick, i have never been able to charge old people full price just out of principle.. even if i just knock off a little of my time cost it helps them. Good on ya.
Common courtesy and respect for others costs nothing. But the rewards can be many fold and lot have nothing to do with money. In a day and age where earning money is king its great to your ethical approach to both existing or potentially new customers. Well done and keep up the good work.
When I was in Telford you applied to the local council for passes to take a van to the local waste point. You were given 12 in a book and when they ran out you had to try and purchase more. But that was non comertial then.
I’m heading to the UK in July, my Mum who is 90 has an oven which is acting up, so I’ll be taking my testers with me. Also my Aunt has bulbs out and her Microwave is pooched.
I agree @£250 it comes across as expensive, however I very much doubt the electrician new they were elderly and ill when they phoned, the guy may be working long hours and his weekend is only time with his family so weighs up spending time with his family and also providing at the same time.
Adam has a hard spot for old people Good work nick ! I would have done the same , only difference I would have asked if they were kind enough to leave a google review . 👌🏻👌🏻 good stuff
I would have done the same with Google mate, but unfortunately I've had to remove all my review platforms due to Dick Heads leaving fake reviews saying I've burnt their house down ffs
When I was more on the tools I never over charged even out of hours at most I charged for fuel. I had pneumonia this year so I’m retiring from being self employed
You can take your van to tip if you have a ticket apply to council , you get 12 tickets a year . I stated its my only vehicle . I don't believe they let you in without a ticket in a van . Might be wrong ?
Don't get me wrong it's a good thing for him to do but what you're forgetting is he is profiting from the video talking about the job. So you should charge depending how much you value your time.
Firstly , they were not scammed as they were told upfront the call out fee 250 . Secondly was this a firm or one man band , big difference in overheads .

Treating people the way you would like them to treat your Mum is a nice rule to work from ..Your one of the nice Guys Nick..
I think more people are nice than rip off to be fair. It's just that the bad guys get the air time.

I would have insisted on a tea and biscuit at least, just to make sure the kitchen circuit was working properly of course.
Load test ofcourse it's standard 😂😂
You're a decent bloke no charge is the right thing to do

for good or bad, I'm one of those people. But I only do it for nice, honest people.
You did a fantastic gesture,I love you. The irony is old people usually have more money than young people.
Ur a good man the world needs more ppl like u buddy I always say what if it was my parents or kids n they needed help
Bless you Sir Nick for doing the right thing for the elderly couple

God bless ya for looking after the couple.... well done.
Full respect to you helping an old couple, good on you
Can't fault you for doing the right thing Nick 👍👍
It's great that you have a conscience but clearly not all sparks were built that way. Good work.
I would have been £124.00 buuuuuut then being old and having a heart I’d have likely screwed myself and just asked for a tenner.
@01:50 - we can confirm, that Stourbridge-ites are the hardest folk to convert. They just love scrap yards! 😂
Agreed
Are/will you guys ever be operating in Scotland?
I’ve got a mountain of scrap cable and cant face loading the van and taking it to a scrappy 😂
@@rsdelectrical For sure the intention is there, but it won't be in the next year or so I'm afraid so that trip to the scrappy may have to happen 😭

Good to see honest guys out there. What was the Quick-Marx template like?

Very nice for u that I do hope u get a lot more work from helping them out

Green cable are great prices seem as good as I was getting from scrap yard without the hassle . I only strip tails and bigger cables
No charge for that customer in that situation was perfect, well done Nick.
Biking films sound great to me, take care on the bike. All the best 🍻👍👍
9:09 you been watching Ashville? lol
I see so many pensioners charged a fortune for Electrical work . I don't know how they can do this with a clear conscience . Well done
Yes to the bike channel 👍🏽🏍️
Nick is the prince of waffle ... and we LOVE it!
lol thanks dude
Dont know about the quick marx as with the old one u can pass the cables through and mark the wall
Good on you, look after the oldies
Nick do you have a link to those back box templates please?
My local tip charges vans full stop. It so stupid i can then put the rubbush in my people carrier and thats fine.

Might be wrong ?
You're lucky to get a van into your dump. Our local one doesn't accept anything apart from cars.
Ours allows vans in 12 times a year (no rental) and cars 52.
Great Vlog nick first time since I been watching you never mentioned Adam's Mum in shock good job with the old couple
Wait for the next video 🫣😬
I still live in hope for the day that greencable will start operating in my area (N Shropshire)....!
It will come Tim, whereabouts are you as you can't be that far from me
@@NBundyElectrical Oswestry. I applied for bin and they said "sorry, not yet"
He may he may have not charged we will never know same as we will never know if you would have charged if you wasn’t filming this
Phone up the electrician and see what price he quotes you for a Saturday call out
And ask is he hiring?
For a friend, of course.
I think Callout charges are fair but £250 is well over the top. £50-150 for 1st hour is fine depending on size of company and distance.
good on you kid
A bike channel would be interesting. I think it was Thomas Nagy who did a couple of vids of him on the bike and they were a bit of craic
its made from plexiglas - transparent aluminum - star trek voyage home !!
Don't get me wrong it's a good thing for him to do but what you're forgetting is he is profiting from the video talking about the job. So you should charge depending how much you value your time.
Genuine top bloke. Love ya my never met friend
Charge them triple your standard Sunday rate….the Sunday rate you don’t have 😝
Thats about it
oh no one of those situations
Not bad £260 artisan would of been £30k 😂
I would have charged enough for fuel back and forth and thats about it
You need a nice fridge for your monster drinks glass door.
oh its coming mate
Acrylic will do if you can’t manage plexiglass 😂👊
Perspex. Plexiglass is an Americanism.
Do Greencable cover south Wales .
Not just yet but will be soon. Please still apply and we’ll notify you as soon as we’re rolling out down there
Are you going to cover the use of ebikes too?
Interested in the bike thing, I’ve just bought 7 classic bikes.
7? you've earning too much mate. subbing for artisan?
I get thé charity thing but at least get payed the deplacement fée. How many other times have you done à freebee. 😮?
Not sure if it's just me but i notice a huge mic volume difference these last few videos... nevertheless keep it up with the great content
Not quite sure what's going on with the mic mate but I know what you mean
I can confirm I was converted, can I have the tat back please 😂😂😂
its a no from me
@@NBundyElectrical fair
Tit for tat?
Nick.....maybe thats his price....even if it is ott...
Greencable not in South London yet 😢
It’s coming mate - get ur self on the list early mate and you could end up winning 🎉
We're moving fast! Hundreds, possibly thousands waiting for us there.
Was the give away done where people signed up with emails? Think it was alot of gear and you split it all up.
So, how much should the guy have charged for leaving his house on a Sunday? Should he have done it for free?
You are right in that there needs to be some sort of charge but £260 seems excessive. Maybe £100 for the first hour then £x per hour after that.
What happened with your step mums bathroom in the end?
Good question
Step mum? Pretty sure it was his mother in law bathroom
VAT=Vintage Adult Tax
or just a crook

Vlog. Clog.
what's a clog mate?
Please stop dissing other contractors (you know who i mean). Unless of course they are doing a bad job which is not the case.
The question is.... Would you have changed them??
