      @@biggmanarthurhey man I have a 06 accord that’s j35 swapped, has bc cams and upgraded valve train. Supposedly bigger injectors, pnp intake, dual throttle bodies, j pipe, tuned on hondata, I want to boost it but wondering what more I need to do it besides the turbo and manifold etc, I would get new injectors to be sure and then a fuel pump, would the stock j35a6 internals handle 400whp? Reliably?

    Awesome build man. Love seeing the J get love. We (HalferLand Performance) specialize in Honda Jseries Performance Parts and our R&D shop (my daily) 06' Accord Coupe 6mt made 550/464 on 8psi with all of our parts (Our Stage 2 Cams, Our rods, Our pistons, our block guards and more) in the J35a7 swap running our custom kit with a Turbonetics 6968 Tseries Billet wheel journal bearing. It sees boost by 3500rpm and full boost by 4200rpm. She ended up trapping 134mph in a street car takeover event and weighing in at 3400lbs. So your setup should fly if it hooks!!
    I would have thought that 7875 would make more, but again it's a VS eBay turbo, probably not the most efficient. I say that as a buddy made 1000+ with his Borg 78mm...but again, totally don't think it's the tune or anything, definitely just a limited turbo ($200 one at that). • @HalferLandPerformance
      @HalferLandPerformance Рік тому +3

      Depends on weight and load. The small Civic/Del Sol early mid 90's cars can take 600whp for a a while but usually you end up trans limited to around 550wtq. Our 550whp Accord broke 3rd twice, opposed to a lighter less load Civic which can probably hold that power level for double the time (each time was literally around 5-6months with lots of passes). Now I put around and do my daily stuff in the Accord (Full Interior, Full weight, touch screen radio, AC etc so 550whp daily is fun) but ended up picking up an 03 Accord coupe, gutted it and it will be our new R&D car...gutting is the key, to try and lower the weight closer to the civic guys. There are dog box options out but soooo expensive ($8k+) and straight cut gears but people are still breaking those around 600whp. Maybe we should start working on making stronger gears 🤔

      I had great luck with a vs racing 7875. Bit over sized so helps keep peak tq further up the rpm curve keeping the rods happy. I've ran 20psi on a stock engine with that turbo making 615hp

    • @biggmanarthur
      @biggmanarthur  8 місяців тому

      @FlipSideGarage yea those turbos will just spool fast which just puts those rods in the danger zone. I don't see u having issues running 10psi or less but I wouldn't push them much harder cuz the tq those turbos will make and how early they make it will cause failure to the rods

      550wtq is around the upper limit. I commented to another person on here with what we found but ultimately lighter cars fair better...we broke 3rd twice in our R&D (my daily) 06' Accord coupe at 3400lbs full weight/interior etc. with Lighter cars like the civic the trans isn't carrying as much load so can take that power a little better. If you're going a race car, power to weight is everything, and the less weight usually means the more power the trans can hold
