17:40 That's the Francis Lai soundtrack to _'A Man and a Woman'_ , superb. Also FYI, don't be put off by the Quadio BRs, they just use only the 4 main channels used in the 5.1 set up, recreating the original Quadraphonic masters from the 70s ANYONE can play them :)
Hey Mike, RE: STP. I just had delivered today a 1985 sealed copy of Richard Peterson’s “Second Album”. 😅…- listening to it now-surface is as quiet as a church mouse😎
For crying out loud, Mike. The soundtrack to "A Man and a Woman", by Francis Lai. You've been listening to the main theme in elevators all over the world since you were a kid. How come an audiophile like you don't know this wonderful French film? ;-) Can't be farther away in style from maestro Morricone's; completely "sixties French" style. Glad to see that this is coming out. I have at least four different versions in my collection and will sure add this one too; thanks for the tip and great job with your site!
Hi. It's Eliot from NY. I believe the Mazzy Stars are only color vinyl with the RSD Essential sticker on the cover. The ones without the sticker are black vinyl.
Pretty excited about the Margo Guryan. One of my favourite albums, I only have the fold down mono Vinyl Me Please colored version. Numero always does great high quality jackets, hopefully the sound quality is good too.
Mike, I'm sure the Abraxas one step was sourced from DSD256, but the new supervinyl is sourced from DSD64. There would obviously be no need to lower the DSD rate if it was from the same source. Mofi have confirmed it's a new cut on social media, but not the source. Bit strange??? I'm sure it'll be good regardless.
I recently purchased from TIG both the "Sounds Of Summer" and the Analogue Productions 45 rpm versions of "War...Greatest Hits". You know what I liked best? Side 1 of my original pressing of "War...Greatest Hits" on United Artists. The vinyl on the UA(All Disc Records) pressing was quieter and the sound really jumped out of the record in front of me. Side 2 wasn't so great, with surface noise plus ticks and pops. The Rhino color vinyl has too much surface noise.
In honor of the MC5 finally getting into the R&R Hall of Fame, AP or MFSL need to do a deluxe release of Kick Out The Jams. Only the best live album ever put to wax.
I used to look forward to these, I’m a massive vinyl collector but during the last few years, it just feels like I’m getting fleeced. AP just released the Doors again, I already own the 45rpm AP and now they are selling a new one, cmon.
Hi Mike , I'M not only a subscriber I'M now a costumer,....I just ordered Belafonte at Carnegie Hall the 5 record box set so I'm going to ask, do you have any Belafonte in your collection?
I just want to know who makes the frosted inner sleeves? My record from the last whatnot auction came with one. There's no white paper backing in it...
Too bad RKS blew the purple release. He put everything into the middle in the soundstage. Not much separation and it doesn’t sound 3D. The OG purple translucent images much better also he basically balanced everything out so the drums are muddled in with everything. Too bad he didn’t stick to the OG setup. I love the new RKS for its clarity….but it is not a better stereo experience IMHO.
@revelry1969 bro no one agrees with you. We have seen you say this on multiple websites. Just stfu already. If you don’t enjoy as much as the og, then dont listen to it and stop commenting about it
@@SonicPVC he can manage the soundstage and small eq changes which affects instrument frequencies giving the sensation of separation. He cluttered the soundstage with low end by balancing all the instruments out. Voice and drums further back in the soundstage. This album was mastered and mixed to feature the voice and the drums. Brendan O’Brien I believe is on the record in an interview talking about this somewhere. The OG has much better instrument separation. I think Bob Ludwig did the original mastering….Chad should have never approved this RKS. It deviates hugely from the OG. What ends up happening is that my ears get fatigued being bombarded by a bloated middle section of the sound stage in the RKS cut. Also it doesn’t sound as 3D as the original. I like the clarity of the RKS but he disregard what Bob did. In the end it is a “good” cut but doesn’t beat the OG to me. One guys opinion. Glad I have both. Get the translucent purple one and you will hear the difference. The purple og is noisier vinyl, but the soundstage and presentation is better to me. Have to take the good with the bad. I forgot to mention the OG is cut about 3-4 DB quieter which means you have to turn it up….more head room. The RKS gets too loud too fast
I have the first press- the re-press from Fagens Xmas box set and the Mofi one step… honesty they all sound darn good - of course the Mofi is a little more detailed but all are good in their own respect
The best mornings are the ones where an in groove new release vid is waiting at the top of the feed
I don’t know…I’m too busy listening to my purchases to watch these anymore

I don't think the mastering engineer has anything to do with stereo separation or, the drum mix.

How much for Paul McCartney's "Off the Ground" Lp on the background wall❓I don't see it on the website, only in your video.🤔
Appreciate her trying to do KPOP in the store, kinda cool, but maybe get more punk before KPOP….. there’s like no punk.
How can I buy that Porky's Revenge! soundtrack I see to the left of the screen.?I live in North Carolina
