Dude, I would love to see how you handle your home collection, in terms of storage and display. I’m overwhelmed by my 6,000+ collection 6:23 (which pales in comparison to yours), and am always on the hunt for solutions. I continue to be impressed by your rebound energy, and will always be a fan and supporter.
You know you’re a man who has a massive collection of rare & expensive albums that for 99% of the vinyl community are impossible to acquire when you just happen to stumble upon a hard to find, limited edition of a highly sot after Beatles record just lying around in a storage area under other boxes. Oh and now you own TWO !! Well done Mike 😅
I've got super clean pressings of the first three LOVE albums. "Love S/T" & "Da Capo" are mono brown label and "Forever Changes" is a stereo first press. They all sound great. All three are among my favorite albums. Found one at a yard sale and found the other two at Sounds Good Music in Port St. Lucie, Fla. of all places. For good prices too. Record store knew what they had, the yard sale guy had no idea who LOVE was. Replaced my more beat up copies. Thankfully I live in a place where not many people give a shit about psych/garage albums. Makes it hard to find friends who like the same music, but easier to find good records for cheap.
Mike, I have never heard that Helton Felton, but I am about to. Tawatha Agee and Angela Winbush are R&B vocal legends. Tawatha was lead singer for Mtume. Do you remember the song "Juicy Fruit?" She also had an extremely successful career singing backup for many artists, including Steely Dan and especially Luther Vandross. Angela was a member of Rene and Angela before having a phenomenal solo career. She was later married to Ronald Isley of the Isley Brothers.
Thank you for highlighting Gary Numan Mike. I just recently watched a bio here on UA-cam about him and his extraordinary wife, their family and story. Streaming him and just adding his releases to my want list. Absolutely genius artist and I was just thinking how cool it would be to see him live...glad to read his shows rock.
Mike - I second some other comments above. More videos like these. Your true love of vinyl comes out. Also it seems like you are doing well - divorce is earth shattering. Keep, keeping your head up. Better living through music and vinyl!
I have a Jimmy Smith (A Date with Jimmy Smith) album from your George Benson collection that I bought off of Ebay when you first got that collection, cover in great shape, vinyl a little rough so I put both the album cover & vinyl in a frame & hung it in my music room. I loved that video you did with George when you were picking up the collection, I just had to have something knowing George once owned it. I am always looking forward for when you go back & revisit that Benson collection.....
I agree with you Mike on Newmans modern dark wave goth wave whatever wave you’d call it is the true cream of the crop. Many modern artists are inspired today by that much more than the cars
It’s such a shame you have so many records in storage that music lovers can’t buy to enjoy something to think about Mike, would love to see a room tour of your new music room
Yeah Baby! Gary Numan F'n *ROX* Bro! Most who are not avid fans don't really know that, they only know his early stuff. But... How The 'F' about that Intruder, huh...?!! 😁 Check out his one before that, Savage: Songs from a Broken World. It's better! Honest... BTW, FWIW since you are a record expert and after 40+ years of collecting vinyl I have picked up now and then some interesting ones, unknowingly at the time of course. But, around 2000 I got the Let Them Eat Vinyl Gary Numan 'Pure' 2-LP Red vinyl album. It actually sounds pretty good, surprisingly. The dang thing is worth like $200 now, I of course got it then for under $20 (same with Nirvana Nevermind, 1st US non-club pressing, just happened to buy it when it came out... 😊 NM copies now go for about, what, $1700 or so. Definitely my most valuable album)
The Movie Beetlejuice doesn't do it for you - BLASPHEMY! Might be Michael Keatons greatest work! I completely agree with the assessment of Jazz/Funk vocals at times - it can get a little weird...
@thomosburn8740 I have a much cherished and well worn CD of that show. I remember when it aired on TV and thinking Holy shit what a performance! Good call on your part

Always enjoy these "Records going into my collection" videos. Thank!
I hope this a regular thing. I love these videos. Thanks!
I like that you are showing more of your private collection Mike!
Keep on digging ⛏️
George Benson 's partyed-on records didnt surprise, imagine the partys he threw...and he also sold his entire collection. That surprises me.😅
Give Blood! My all time favorite!
Totally agree on Townshend. Pete’s Scoop albums are excellent. Classic Records did them.

Totally agree on a Pete solo show!

Fever is the Kylie album you need, got her best songs on it - get the current European reissue - fantastic bass
Lifetime Gary Numan fan.

Pete on the POLICEMANS OTHER BALL IS off the hook. Another excellent video.

Rough Mix top 50 best albums IMHO

Haven’t seen any of the video but I’m already onboard with the Kylie Min-gogue thumbnail.

Kylie Minogue song Breathe is definitely worth checking out. Not usually my type of music but every now and then.....
Your Beatles in the weeds collection sounds like my collection 🙂
I need to check out ur store, I've been to Zia records but not urs yet
Would love a video on your reel to reel tape collection!
Enjoyed the video.
Gary Numan is a great performer and a super nice guy
Mornin' Mike ✌️
Driving Rain is severely underrated. I dont understand why it gets so much hate.
You need to put some light on our side facing the album cover because it’s dam hard to see when you hold them up. Cheers

Is having all these records a BLESSING or a Curse?
The Movie Beetlejuice doesn't do it for you - BLASPHEMY! Might be Michael Keatons greatest work! I completely agree with the assessment of Jazz/Funk vocals at times - it can get a little weird...
he’s only in that movie for 17 minutes.
Mike keeps Kylie records...but sells Zappa records.
What does waffle ball jazz mean ?
my guess would be wiffle ball vs. a real baseball.
@@giantorangerecords Kenny G vs Eric Dolphy, LOL
Sadly, that Driving Rain album is not very good. The Russian Rock album, however, is a 5 star banger.
his Unplugged album is my favorite thing in his post-Beatles catalog. Very underrated.
