when the game is flowy in a sense and it feels natural i dont care about the "lonelyness" that much because when u just play with some music it is not that noticable. i really like that the spots are realsitic and not that cramped. it just feels more realistic. like u dont find a quarter in the middle of the streets etc. Thanks for ur analysing. Much love bro

dont put things on god@@tr13ky47
Word, never felt lonley in pipe, skater XL etc.
HUGE facts from this guy🗣🗣🗣
An object dropper would be pretty cool to help with the open space
The muted tone could be because he was filming for a trailer, trying to add a more cinematic filter. If you look at the first look when old potato was testing that didn't have a filter.
my theory is that they knew a lot of people will watch the trailer multiple times and get used to that kinda boring tone and because of that we get blown away from all those bright colors when we can finally play it by ourself 😄 at least i hope that it will have bright colors. and one more reason why i think that the final game won't have that boring tone is when you look at the new screenshots he uploaded on steam like 3 weeks ago, the colors there are bright as they are supposed to be and its ridiculous to think that he changed the entire look of the game after that.
@@marvinwagner9666 i hope you're right .
@@marvinwagner9666 what a ridiculous conspiracy "we made it look bad to you love how much better it looks later"
@@BodieMTB in 3 days we will see 😃
@@marvinwagner9666 Worst case scenario we can change it in Nvidia CP or using shadow play filters. Imo it works great and allows you to change the brightness, and vibrancy without relying on the devs to add it themselves.
the brown colour pallet gives out skate 1/2 vibes. when you did combos game became more colourful that was a cool feature
I personally dont mind the empty map. I have 4000+ hours of no npcs in PIPE, so it won't feel any different to me. Plus theres multiplayer which will be so fun and feel less lonely. What I'm hoping for is that when you perform a trick slowly in pipe (slower input), it'll actually do that trick slower (for larger airs/gaps). I like variability of how tricks can look in session based on input because you can add your own style. Hoping that's also present in this game
Facts I got too many hours on pipe
I know, I've been playing pipe since the very first demo, the one even before pipe came out. Been waiting for almost 8 years, this week is going to feel so fucking looooonnnnggg
@@tannersmith8415in it together bro
For anyone having any complaints about the world not being populated... Just imagine this all takes place in 2020. I can agree with an object dropper would improve the game. It's not something that we need immediately but it would be awesome! WITH THAT, thinking about the community maps that can be made! How many people are going to think about the ability to climb? How many parks are going to have vertical building of parks and transfers? The biggest accomplishment is by far the physics of the game! If you swap out the city, world, park or level... what ever you want to call it, the game is infinitely playable! Just adding IRL skateparks that BMXers normally can't ride in real life would be HUGE! Of course an object dropper can add to all of that as well! An incredible feat no matter how anyone looks at it! Mash made this. Not a large team of EA employees. Not a small team of indie devs. Mash. Incredible! I am looking forward to seeing what everyone can do with this and the worlds people create. I just hope people learn to make INTERESTING things to ride! Skateparks are neat and all but the best riding comes from construction flukes and awesome architectures!
I’ve been playing the same maps for years…the city looks like heaven to me
I actually do like being alone in the world in these types of games. I think a few parked cars or benches that LOD heavily wouldn't hurt. I'm just in love with how big the map is!
Yes, I care about the empty world when I plan on spending endless hours in the game. I kinda like the game to surprise me with unexpected, unscripted events however simple, like a pedestrian stubbornly blocking my spot or having to avoid cars while pedaling full speed towards a massive wall ride
You think you want that, until you don't lol. Been playing SKATE since the first one came out originally, and I quickly opted for turning off all pedestrians and vehicles throughout all 3 games after they were nothing but highly annoying.
@@MonkDave666 me too, SKATE saga fan! I guess it comes down to taste, I also got upset at stupid NPCs but I also enjoyed jumping over them and scarying them.
@@miyaguin the npcs also piss me off in skate games but i cant imagine them not being around. i especially like the npc skaters that just skate around doing gnarly gaps and completely eating shit half the time
Die hard BMXers are going to love it regardless. I still haven't seen a hop 360 to smith on just a random flat ledge. Judging by the double 3 double and 5 to grind, it should work.
I Hope there is some dirt jump and Park with jump box, and more, i Hope they put the tunnel jam Park somewhere like they tease us 2 yrs ago and more secret location
i have a feeling all of the “spots” we have seen in teasers like the tunnel your talking about will be in the game. that spot looked like it was worked on for a very long time ( i mean that as in graphically and textures and stuff ) so i dont think he would try and make that spot look that good and not use it if that makes sense
I was really hoping this game wouldn't be a physics sandbox like pipe, kept alive by mods but given how bleak the map looks and how you're the only moving thing i think its bound to happen when everyone inevitably gets board of the map. The reason the skate games are so goated is because they feel alive, add in the amazing gameplay and abundance of challenges you can sink hours and hours into it without getting board.
colour pallete gives me skate 2 vibes
Which I dont mind. Im not a fan of how the current skate looks.
@@kevincollins8620 fully agree with you much prefer the skate and skate 2 aethestiics
@@schocky5991 wild this game came out and looks great. I was playing pipe not long ago it seems. And it feels like yesterday when I was learning about streets. I can't wait for console release.
never really thought about the whole colour pallet as you mentioned, but I see it now, however it does not bother me and I like the looks regardless. I am most excited about the flairs, they never really worked in pipe, but this game just makes them look easy and clean to do. Grinds also, look really good, the balance mechanic really adds to it. the character movement will make it miles better to traverse the land. Pipe's character control was awful, but looks much more manageable in this game. Big open world map, looks like there is lots to explore and cant wait to see what I and everyone else will come up with.
People complain about the world being dead, no pedestrians, cars, props etc.... To me, those are just extras, I mainly care about the spots and the BMX controls/mechanics. Having a more open environment allows for better framerates and gives the opportunity for stringing lines together. The ability to play with friends and strangers will be more than enough company for most. The feature of mod.io, will make mods much easier to install and give people almost limitless amounts of places to ride. Can't wait to sink in hundreds of hours into BMX streets. Mash has done an amazing job, people just want to focus on the negatives and ignore the good.
All I hope is we can still do cork 3 whips and underflips like we could in pipe. Only thing I am going to miss if it more easier to do flips. Pipe was a good challenge to master flairs and pat Casey 3whips👌👌
I wonder if he’s gonna throw areas from the old mobile game into the game. Would be dope the give homage to OG’s from the mobile days.
the color of everything reminds me of Skate 2 so i kinda fuck wit it
I don't care about NPCs too much, however there could be some parked vehicles in this game to suggest some city life is happening, this does feel like a post-apocalyptic BMX game :)
I am absolutely sure that someone will make an npc/cars mod eventually XD
Absolutely, we don't have to worry about Mash adding NPC, cars, or even character customization in the future
I get the talk about the dead city thing, bur anyone who played the skate games knows just how painful those NPCs were super painful
Right? :) I had "complained" how it seems like an empty, vast skatepark, but this is a very nice look at what it's actually like riding around. Very much looking forward to cruising through this now.
re: the environment, since you're asking. I absolutely don't mind no people or cars. Those games are never going to feel like a GTA, so there's no point in trying. I kind of even enjoy the '28 days later' vibe of a NYC evening in Session, no pedestrians. I only wish this looked a bit more lived-in.
I'll admit that I also thought it looked really lonely when I watches the video, but I feel like that might help make the game more chill
This is going to be the best game ever
yeah for me the highlight of the whole edit was that tooth hanger to 3 out. Just looked so damn smooth and natural.
Very small thing but I think it’s a dope detail. After that last clip with the tooth pick 360 out, the wheel pivot makes a skid mark on the ground. So fucking satisfying
Based on skate 3 skatepark created what I’ve learnt is the important of props and plants. Just needs bins and trash and pot plants around to make it feel more “lived in”
That's just filler copy and paste Skate 3's level design was terrible for that need to have more creative realistic spots not just trash bins scattered about
Can't wait to see what you do in streets
Game looks like the original skate games color pallet kinda . Really love the content man 💯. Deff need this for console asap
not sure if this is already going to be thing, but open lobbies would be cool and populate the map nicely
Looks like Session skate sim for BMX (which is great ! ) will get this one for sure
Can’t wait to see the mods people come up with.
I don’t think they mean empty as in population, I think they mean empty as in everything is super spaced out. There’s no benches or small rails anywhere on the sidewalks so getting a line might be difficult in a lot of parts on the map
I'm so excited for this game. The thing I'm most interested to see is the bike customisation. The 'loneliness' doesn't bother me at all. AI in these games is never great anyway and just seem to annoy me more than anything. The colour pallet isn't much of an issue either as like you said, we can use reshade. It does really make it feel like a game from like 2010. I swear all the games back then were really 'muddy'.
keep in mind he had to make design decisions to meet his main goal of 4k 120 fps on console. that means everything from object count, amount of sounds playing, texture resolution etc have been limited. there will be mods for sure to add features people feel are missing that wont have to stick to mash's guidelines and probably updates from mash in the future. im sure lots of people are gonna be looking at learning the modding workflow on day 1
Interesting.. where did you hear it's coming to console?
from a former rider for 20+ years the animations for the tricks and the tucks are what is letting it down the character is bow legged
Is this the same dev that made PIPE?
Yeah
@@Nitroh-that prick owes me money!
I love an environment that is a bit more "alive". But if multiplayer allows for head to head trick competitions and leaderboards etc then I would trade off a solo single player mode for a better multiplayer experience (competitive wise).
Here's my simple take, it doesn't look perfect by any means or maybe what we expected after 8 years, but it looks like a lot of fun has a few new tricks and that is the main part that matters to me.
My only concern is mainly about skateparks, I prefer park riding over street from the looks of it there’s not really any, other than the main one regardless it’s going to be a huge step up from pipe
There will be mod map support either from launch or sometime after.
@@lordbruh465 ahh that’s even better appreciate the info
Nearly $60 for another physics demo is insane lmao.
Colour pallet reminds me of England
I don't have any critiques, I simply can't wait to play this and will be grateful for what it is..imo
I haven't been in the discord for this game, but has anything been mentioned about a type of stats menu to adjust for higher realism?
Give us more colour for Christ sake.
Curious as to what people are thinking about the tyres sinking into ledges for feebles/smiths etc
I imagine that this game, similar to SkaterXL, will in some way be carried by the modding community. Things like pedestrian density and colour contrast of the world I hope to see tackled early on to make the world look and feel a little more ‘AAA’. The thing that throws me off is the scale of the environment. Everything looks massive and very far apart. It’s a little uncanny and dreamscape ish. The physics look great though and that’s the important think!
I'm surprised you didn't say anything about the bike scale how it looks like he's riding a super small bike
I dont really care about the empty map, its more fun for me as Mods will come at launch or shortly after, i can't wait what the modders has in store after i played 1000+ Hours of this map lol, (also multiplayer is there too, this could be fun as well for another hundreds of hours).
people also forgetting that there are also Diverse Challenges like Races, Trick Attacks, Secret Gaps, Tech Attacks and more, so its not only Jumping around doing tricks so they are other content to do,
so maybe modders can do challenges too for their own maps, that would be sick.
A couple visual things really bug me - the vignette when you go slowmo is way too dark and dramatic. Also I feel like I’m the only one who noticed there’s like a weird dark shadow around the edges of the player. Like a dark “glow” halo that shows up a lot when against a bowl or wall. Like a second shadow but it doesn’t correspond with the lighting angle at all. I’m probably nitpicking but it bugs me lol
Like in the first bowl clip pause while he’s in the light part of the bowl. There’s like a dark blur glow around edge of player
@@AndyS52 damn it now I see it too 😂
@@burgerbait okay i'm not crazy lol. bizarre decision
The map does look a bit scarce but its not that big of a deal, everyone will be bored of the map within a few months and we'll have loads of modded maps to play anyway :) As for the colour cast it can easily be fixed with reshade.
This is just the start mod maps and ons dlc cant wait
i think for the loneliness in the city there should be other riders, like in skate 3 there are skaters all around that you can interact with, and i think that would be a really cool addition to the city to make it feel more lively
I don't mind the map being as it is. I would rather it look like that than see quarter pipes in the middle of the road like its a thps map. Plus, if we really need to, we can just mod npcs in certain areas to add to edits. I cannot wait. This is going to be the longest week ever.
It's 2000 times better than Pipe on Xbox so there are no complaints from me. I just need an Xbox release date.
I don't give a shit about NPCs or traffic its a bmx game im buying it to ride bmx not look at cars driving around and dialoguing with random NPCs...
I'm not super fussed about the NPC thing, but it would add a nice touch to make the map feel more full since it's very open and spread out. The last thing we want is the game to feel boring cause of the lifeless atmosphere. I get it's a BMX game and the focus is not on the secondary assets but if it helps create a better environment to ride in then it should get worked on in the future. Regardless it's fine by me either way.
I hope that the cassette fakie animation is in the full game.. like it was in pipe. In all these clips it’s a free coaster
I think some cars driving around would be cool to help make the city map not feel as empty. Those have always worked pretty well in skate but all the ea skate games and session have options to have npcs walking around and they are always very annoying to the point that I turn them off
There will hopefully be more realistic mod maps
I am sure the game is going to bang in a couple months with its fix’s an shit it gonna need I am sure but the game being dropped is so exciting I can’t wait
Yeah hopefully it was just a trailer filter or what it looks like during over cast wearher maybe? If he added variable weather..personally not a fan of gritty themes for landscape that look gloomy, even horror games that do that is silly, a good horror game would get people going even during a beautiful sunny day with lots of color. Someone will make it look better with mods anyway, as long as the gameplay is solid i'll be loving it.
modded maps will be lit
The physics look amazing but i gotta admit the map looks very emty and soulless. But when modders start making nice custom maps i dont mind. Its all about the amazing physics for me in the end and those look good so im happy!
something that has been bugging me, is the characters stiffness, I wish you could have a bit more weight and movement with how the character moves, like some more “steeze” for lack of a better word, and the character stands in a pretty uncomfortable way
Been playing console pipe for yonks, npcs are unneeded
i really don't care about the loneliness
They need to fix the turndown animation.
Is this game gonna have a campaign like skate?
honestly the world looks horrible for the amount of time we have had to wait, so boring and bare.
Does Streets have a price yet?
My guess is around a similar price to what Session and SXL are since it's in that indie dev action sport simulator category.
54usd
Will this game be dead like pipes ?
Definitely looks like it’s missing a lot of “life” to it.
It does look really barren and somewhat soulless. Just a few benches and trashcans could go a long way. Either way i'm really excited to play it.
I tried to reach out to the dev to get the Art Direction and visual style of this game to a place where it's acceptable and I received no response. I wanted to be able to consult for free and help illuminate some areas of this title that continue to force mods to do the actual work.
Game badly needs a second pass by a level designer who understands how much things like benches and ledges add to everything in terms of combos and lines. It would be so nice to be able to pop out of that pool into some grinds and then drop back in, and yet there's nothing around. Can't wait to play the game, it's an amazing achievement for the dev, but it's looking empty already.
Lemme see any of you critics in the comments make the same game BY YOURSELF.........
mash is not a solo dev
honestly i'm a bit dissapointed. It's been 6 years since we had PIPE and tbh this game isn't even that different. Sure physics look way better and the map seems quite big. But to me this feels more like a PIPE mod/DLC. I understand he made this game pretty much by himself but still... Hope Mash games will experiment with NPC
Lmao yeah the game is terrible - don’t @ me these controls are hilariously bad
