They aren’t trying to make traction easier to cater to new players, it’s to make it more realistic. They can get to full power very quickly in 2nd gear in real life
I know alot of people said this already, but Lando one time said that medium traction is more realistic than no traction control. In the 2021 game I mean

That was the previous generation of cars. The new cars have a lot less mechanical grip so traction is massively affected. Go look at a comparison between a 2021 lap and a 2022 lap in real life and it’s clear. You’re statement is correct when applied to pre 2022 cars but definitely not the current ones.
@@zzgaming29 dude, have you even looked at the telemetry? You can see how early they get on the power. And it probably isn’t about tyre grip, but other components of the drive train, as david grecco said
I don't think it should be a matter of tastes: if real life F1 car traction is easier (I really don't know, but according to F1 drivers it should be so), then it has to be changed
You are talking about the possibility of the handling model being updated so its easier like we arent talking about EA Sports here... A company that has made Fifa as uncompetitive as ever. There is literally no skill gap, so im pretty sure they will do the same with F1

Yeah what they’ve done to fifa is a joke. I remember climbing the ranks as a kid taking me years to go up the levels. Now kids can do that in one year. Such a shame cuz the f1 game looks really fun and enjoyable rn. But it’s also the same with fifa where it’s good for the first month before updates.

Hello, just to let you know I watched a video and when codes talked to the f1 teams they said that the traction was not enough at the initial phase and they have tried to increase it to match real life and they will only do updates to improve it throughout the game if necessary however I've watched videos and done some comparisons to real life and it seems pretty similar so i feel like they won't change it much at all.
4:30 I’m glad you mentioned that the overtake button is powerful but it takes too long for it to charge back up. When you use it. You really have to be very strategic on how much you use it, where you use it, and when to use it to defend

As controller player, I never actually struggled with traction before. Now it's noticable in low speed corners really, but I feel also big difference in high speed corners. Car just sticks differently so it feels bit unnatural. But it's only been like 4h of playtime, so deffinitely we can get used to this as well. Overall, solid game apart from that F1 Life BS that I really do not understand.

What I have struggled with in the F1 games is to know how to ride the curbs, and low speed corner exits (really only turn 3 in Austria...). I have a lot of time to gain at corner exits to get to full throttle faster, so don't know yet if the F1 22 "easier traction" will impact me. But as a new associate at a huge law firm I have not got the time to play yet, have to wait for my summer vacation. And I'm looking forward to it!

get yourself into a league pal, online is so bad. or find a decent streamer to watch like averagejoef1 who does lobbies and has cleaner drivers who race in them.

From the time I’ve played I’ve been loving the game. The problem is tho is that to get some ffb I’ve had to turn my settings all the way up so my wheel definitely needs a update or something. Liking it tho 👌

I think the skill gap lies in the throttle use out of corners, in the couple of hours I’ve played you get yeeted if you have close to half throttle out of certain corners which is something I need to get used to, but don’t know how representative this is of f1
I would say the problem with the traction is the people whom do not have advanced or even good pedals (if at all) however I also understand people not wanting them to make it any easier.

Was fun to watch. Nex to your clean driving skill (say this a amateur :D) the fact the other players drives like F1 and not like a crash derby. Wanna join online racing too but remember in online in Racedriver Grid online (all after part one) there was not fun becaus people can't lose.

Limitless do you recommend to use a low steering saturation like yourself? or is it a personal preference? I usually need to turn so little the steering wheel to turn completely, around 60 degrees, and I dont know if thats limiting my performance (I drive at 110 IA, not slow at all but cant improve). Hey man i have been playing F1 games since F1 2020. Although i am a new player to the franchise and my skill is nowhere near most of you all. That being said, last couple years ive enjoyed career mode, but i played everything on easy. My biggest challenge would be the online races, fun as hell though!!! This year before the release of F1 22 i told myself "I want to immerse myself into this game much more than before and actually feel pressure" So this year i up my A.I difficulty, and i am absolutely LOVING the challenge! It feels so much more realistic, its exciting, and im having more fun than ever in career mode.
I agree when you said "Dont make the game easier" because doing that will not increase my skill gap as much, playing harder modes will make be a better driver.

I play on Xbox series S and the handling feels a lot better through the controller than last years iteration, the traction gets a ton of feedback whilst accelerating.
Im thinking of buying this but lookimg at how smooth the wheel is it dont look like the ffb is very real. I drove the f1 22 car on ams2 and that was so good.
The ffb is shit bro in f1 2022, you don’t even feel the slide unless its too late, i’m using thrustmaster t300
I m gone use high down force but not to high like in the middle of high and low down force so I m not to slow on straight

For console players make sure you change the graphics mode to performance it makes a big difference

Having tried it in VR and 2d i will say VR is way more better from my perspective the cars feel totally different in Vr compared to 2d, i am quicker in VR than is 2d you get a real perception of depth and speed now all it needs is optimising.
how did you get vr to work because when i start the game in vr it stutters and i can not drive?
@@jibbestorm3524 nothing special just started it and it worked no stutters but that was only time trial and i could get in around 20 laps before it would crash and close the game so its not optimised yet typical you would think that EA had learnt their lesson after the botched up BF2042 launch, my wheel also seems to be very light lacking FFB even turned upto 150% its barely noticeable.
And to top it off they used Steam VR really such a garbage tool, resource hungry not a patch on oculus just cheaping out again, don't want to pay premium for premium tools but want their customers to pay premium for a not so premium game.
On the EA forums loads of people complaining that have bugs bad frame rates and jittering, cars feel like they are magnetic to the track it feels like its there but all of a sudden its not.
YT doing its job and delivering content, who would imagine that?
The reason why most people are seemingly running low wings is because at a lot of tracks the game defaults to the increased top speed setup..will be interesting to see how that plays out

Since you're saying that will be testing ALL platform's i want to ask you if microsolft cloud gaming is included on your reviews. I do not have money to build a full hardware setup right now and i am consedering start playing on the cloud. But, i do not have any informations about the game of formula 1 on the cloud playing multiplayer championships. Please if you could bring this content i thank you. For me you are one of the best players in this game.
I really enjoy the game myself and I share your opinion on not making traction easier. Would even say that they should punish players who use assists even more or at least nerf abs.
Why? That’s so dumb. They already are. If you have played with TC on or brake assist on it is literally slower the only thing I think makes someone faster is anti lock brakes because they can push more. And honestly I enjoy med TC I can do no TC but when I’m playing online with people who are idiots I can control where I go a little easier. That also brings up is racing line an assist? Is controller or wheel an assist. Or if the problem is racing online turn your abs on then and only use no abs for career. If you aren’t faster then someone on full assist that’s all you. Also how could you possibly ever know who is using assist online. I swear you people who race with no assist racing line in cockpit mode on a 500 dollar wheel are ridiculous. Some people just enjoy racing with people and having fun. It would be a terrible game if people who already use assist can’t keep up. That’s literally the whole point of using assist so that when you aren’t as good as other players you can still keep the car on track not take anyone out and have fun.
@@dedo7326 in other games using abs or too high abs Makes you slower if you trigger it like acc, it should be the same in f1 tbh, and im using abs but i agree that it makes no sense that abs is so op, it should be nerfed just a little bit so the best players with no abs can be consistently better by a few tenths

The game is a lot harder but the cars feel planted i feel like its more so throttle control
Handling feels solid but i definetly need to adjust some controller settings to make it easier to be light on throttle because i cannot put down any power without spinning

How is the multiplayer lobby system? In previous games I was often mostly fighting the lobbies, games with 3 players, not loading in properly, lol. 75% of my time was wasted on it.
Is that aspect improved?
I think in about a month this game will be great, since they'll (hopefully) have patched all the issues it currently has, but at the moment it crashes every 15 mins and VR is painful to use because of the head tracking latency and jittering. Regarding the traction, I think they should just get it as close to real life as possible (when traction control is turned off) - I feel like they can get on the throttle slightly earlier/more aggressively than we currently can in the game, but I don't think there's much in it.
I think the game could use a bit of balance, the ERS is a lot more powerful than the DRS. Other than that ive really enjoyed the game, the traction is a bit hard to get used to but once you get the hang of it, the game it loads of fun in my opinion

I think the traction changes were made after consulting with the teams - I assume Codies has the budget to do so now unlike before.
It’s not about budget since the F1 games up to F12018 had almost perfect traction physics

I hope they make the handling model an optional easy vs hard setting. So when you have TC off just have an extra setting easy TC or hard TC, allowing more fine tuning in the settings.
So you want different kind of physics?? Nah fam... just Play the game. No one needs those options
@@jv5tv515 Its more like a few extra steps for the settings. TC off is too hard for someone you can have a little bit of TC, between fully off and easy.
Instead of 3 options (full, medium, off) you have 5 or 10

How does FFB feel?
I've always wanted to play F1 but sadly only have a G29. 2019-2021 was unplayable for me, so I can only indulge my F1 cravings through using Super Formulas on GT7.
I use a G29 as well. With the stock settings for force feedback and calibration within F1 it is indeed unplayable. But if you adjust these settings the wheel handles wayy better.
@@thomassmids Care to share some of your settings? I've been wanting to play as the career mode looks fun + online racing looks fun as well just watching JD's clips. I've tried a few settings for 2021 but it was impossible to get rid of the floatiness or random breaks of FFB. I couldn't keep a car straight lol.
About the traction, I don't think it should be made easier, but it should be made as close to the real cars. If this means it gets easier then this is how it should be in my opinion. I think F1 drivers had said that traction was not realistic in previous F1 games in terms of throttle application.
How is the FFB? Does it feel like the wheel is connected to tires? Are there "canned" effects or can you "feel" the grip and catch slides purely by the FFB feeling? Or do you have to drive "reactive"? Meaning driving visually, and when something happens, you react. I know it's hard to put FFB into words, but a seasoned F1 driver, like JD, should understand.
Can you finally map buttons any way you want? Or are there "Presets" again and some buttons can't be remapped?
Drivers delta: I would like to see delta to P1.
Regarding ERS. I really like iRacing and Automobilista 2 implementation of ERS, where you have different modes: Off, Build, Balanced, Attack and Qualy.

When ACC servers were down after an IRL F1 race, a couple of us (20-24 in total joined) went to AMS2, did 2x 20 lap race (so we didn't have to pit) around Interlagos and Spa. ERS management is much more strategic and satisfying when you put it into Qualy to get into DRS, then Build when DRS is active, and again to Qualy to overtake and try to get out of DRS.
I wonder too if anyone tried it, or JD ;)
Ive played about 40 minutes on pc so far and im finding the default ffb is pretty lackluster. Very vague and uninformative Using defaults since their lead handling dev suggested trying that first but ill try tweaking it now
@@PGMT22 yeah, I played on my G920 and it felt kinda weak compared to F1 2021, also played on ps5 control, cars are unstable and ffb doesn’t really help it
This is my biggest gripe with F1 driving model and physics engine. Tires are the only thing that connects the Car to the Track. And Physics and driving modeling should reflect that. If that is not the case, then any FFB effects will be "vague" and uninformative - because there is no "real" information conveyed through FFB. Only canned effects. Probably just Spring effect relative to speed. And track, like Kerbs. Previous F1 games had no undulations felt on the wheel. Like the tires are always "equally connected" to the road.
Clearly these people haven’t played yet and just want to negative Nancy’s. Yeah the ffb does seem attached to the grip more now, low speed it’s like pulling it around a corner as well as medium speed, while the light high speed feels like nothing, and wheel becomes like air once you lose front grip, the handling model this year imo is very good and much better than last years
Where i can change this view from behind? Becouse normal it is straight and you have a angle view

Hi, I have now payed the f1 game since f1 2019 and I am still 1 to 2 seconds off people like you what would you recommend for me to try to catch up in terms of pace is it to just continue to do offline against the ai overtime increasing the ai difficulty or would you recommend trying to get into a league doing more online etc 🙂
Turn all assists but racing line and ABS off
Time trials are your best friend, watch people like trl or jarno there time trial videos are really good in learning the track and top tips

I have question guys. I played yesterday first time with friend and we were mercedes team and we could not find how to change it, so question is, can we be some other team and how to set it?

The car does seem to feel a bit heavier but otherwise I dont see much change to the actual game, they didnt even fix the dumbest bugs like your illegal overtake. IMO half finished pay machine made without love, i probably wont buy it
To be honest the handling changed quite a lot, and its not only about the weight and the less downforce
just wanted to mention, that in these f1 games if the opponent in front of you is close enough, the game let's him open his DRS as well. even though in real life, that's not allowed
I've definitely been in many situations where I'm in 1st and still able to open it up...as long as the car behind me is close

How did you turn off the racing line I can’t find the option and I am new to this game
Press start, go to assists and turn off the racing line
on controller, it feels really stiff and it feels like the car wants to stay in a straight line and the steering is not very smooth. Also, the vibration on controller is very poor and you cannot get a feel for the car and when it is about to spin
We need a Dev to make a sim F1 game! Would be so much better with something like assetto corsa physics.

I just got the F122 for my PS5 and I use the Logitech G29.
I just tried a race and I noticed that the new “turn in” feature in the pit lane has the wrong keybind. I have to press “X” instead of actually using the steering wheel. I’ve been looking for that option in the setting and I just can’t find it… can anyone help?
I find these cars easier to drive than F1 2021, not more challenging. On corner exits there is a ton of grip and traction and overall they feel very planted.
One thing I want to remark... Yesterday I lost my front wing ENTIRELY in Spa and there was basically no performance ramification at all, I damn near won that race, came in in a close P2. Idk if that's a bug or just that the floor is generating all the downforce so the front wing isn't as necessary...?
I think it depends on driving style. I think people playing on a wheel who prefer understeer in a car will find these cars much easier/to their liking. I prefer oversteer so I find these ones harder and am still struggling a bit to make the car turn as responsively as I want after so much tinkering with the calibration wheel settings.
Least here is a mercedes car winner😅😅😅 overall very nice races pace as well
