I feel like one part of that crash that was so brutal was how the camera matched the speed of the car. When the car first impacts the wall and rolls through turn 1 on its roof, the cameras still going at the same speed as when the car was normally qualifying. It’s scary
That Anthony Alfredo crash was vicious. A real testament to the safety of these race cars. Insane how a driver can take a hard impact like that and walk away.
The Reutimann crash will always be one of the scariest for me. He was my favorite driver. I remember after his crash, they showed that his pant leg on his firesuit was torn.
@@nascarfanFlatTire i feel like that was the worst. Thank god for safer barriers bc i think if he hit that wall that fast without the safer barrier he would’ve died, even with the HANS device. NASCAR is so good with safety.
Pls, part 2, with both Pocono's flips, Davey Allison 1992 and Steve Park 2002, and maybe The King flipping at Darlington Edit: I remember another flip of Steve Park, but at Sonoma in 1999, and I have another one at Sonoma too, the famous "S-l-o-w roll over" of the #22 Caterpillar car
Yap, I've seen cars flip at tracks on TV that isn't Daytona or Talladega. About anywhere on either short tracks, 1 miles, 1.5 miles, 2 miles, 2.5 miles, (Pocono) and road courses. Yes, I've seen it all!
Roof flaps would not have help with some of these because they are not flipping from the aerodynamics but cars getting under them friction from the wall or digging in to the ground
Forgot about the flips at Sonoma. Steve Park and another in 1999, Richard Petty in 1992, and the Cat car in 1989. Also Two more cars at The Glen as well. 1986, 1988 I think. I get why you didn’t include JD Mc Duff’s 1991 flip at The Glen as he died.
Most of these tracks are considered intermediate tracks by NASCAR standards (1.5-2.0 miles long), the tracks that you can go flat out are considered superspeedways, (Daytona and Talladega). Pocono and Indy kind of qualify as superspeedways if you go by track length (anything greater than 2.0 miles) but they race more like intermediate tracks, so they aren't usually included.
That last one... oof. I know these cars are safe and all that jazz, but that McDowell crash had to have hurt the way he hit the wall like that.
it was one of the first real tests of the COT's safety, it was really shocking at the time that he just hopped right out and walked away.

Yeah a lot of wrecks are still painful but that’s unavoidable
Anthony Alfredo crash at Kansas was such a brutal crash 💥🏎
Thank god he was ok
At least he walked away thank goodness 👍👍
Yeah Justin was a moron in that moment
Compared to other accidents Alfredo's doesn't seem brutal

He should post more “hardest hits” videos.
And great video 😁
Kansas is the intermediate version of talladega
Talladega is the superspeedway version of Kansas
New movie idea: Track In Black
McDowell was known for his scary flip at Texas but now he's known for 1 of the biggest upset winners in the Daytona 500
His career is legitimately amazing
He accomplished *absolutely nothing* for about 13 years, then FINALLY won that crown jewel

That's the only time in the CoT era where a firesuit got damaged due to an accident
The fact that Brad survived that crash still amazes me to this day.
Reuitmann crash was crazy
It was McDowell

Hey
How aren’t these considered Super Speedways? A lot of them looked like they were to me

How is this even possible?

They crash so big
Nascar need more flips
No it does not
We need the opposite! Flips in nascar are terrible
Perhaps
Chris
This is factually incorrect it’s super speedway is technically defined as two miles or greater. Say plate tracks.
Actually it's any track over a mile, but we just don't ever refer to them as superspeedways.
