    I went back to college at 31 and found I was the average age in my nursing program at school when I thought I would be an older student. So glad you're making your dreams happen! You will not regret this decision. It will be your life game changing move!

    I started medical school after I was in recovery. I was 38 years old at the time. I graduated, did residency and went into practice. You can do it, too. Best of luck!

    Happy for you, Daniel! At every step of the way you’re making newer and larger strides in life - it’s amazing and so very inspiring.
    You give me hope that I’ll be able to beat addiction one day and turn my life around. You honestly give me hope.
    And after losing everything… and I mean EVERYTHING (I’ll spare you the cookie cutter “riches to rags / from BMW and high stakes baccarat to homeless on the streets of Vegas / watched it all crumble and lost everyone while consumed by addiction” story you’ve heard a hundred times) - you give me hope that I’ll one day have shit somehow back in order…
    Don’t believe I ever will- but seeing how awesome your life has become and how much amazing progress like this you’re making on a REGULAR basis through your journey?
    Gives me hope, bro… it really does.
    I’m rooting for you. Sure, selfishly… I believe if you can do it, I might have a slight little modicum of a chance, too.
    Proud of you for going back to school.
    Peace and love
    (I’ll spare you any creepy comments in this message since it’s a serious one, lol)

      @@danielsinrecovery there were some core Computer Science classes like data structures and algorithms, operating systems, computer organization and assembly language, also took a few math classes (calculus isn’t as bad as everyone says it is, if that ends up being one of your required courses).
      Most of my CS courses used Java and at work I use JavaScript/React. I haven’t messed around with LUA though. I need to check that out.

    Have you went through THC/weed withdrawals before? I quit for good 5-6 days ago and I’ve been living in a nightmare. Insomnia, wake up in sweat, heavy/tight chest and high blood pressure and heart rate. I’ve seen other people online say they went through these symptoms as well but I’m just worried. I already went to the ER 2 nights ago and they said I’ll be ok , but it really sucks. I feel so alone and I’m exhausted. If anyone can help me I’ll appreciate it. These symptoms only started the day after I quit THC and cigarettes so I know that has to be the cause. I just don’t know how much longer I can take this.

    • @Ashley_Schaeffer
      @Ashley_Schaeffer 5 місяців тому +3

      Weed withdrawal is almost always all mental... Try to substitute a nightcap joint for some warm sleepy tea like chamomile or try taking melatonin... As a heavy cannabis user(300+mg/day) withdrawals were never a thing... although everyone is different... Also quitting because you have to vs because you want to is a big mental challenge... your symptoms are most likely tied to nicotine withdrawal rather than thc...

    • @mason96575
      @mason96575 5 місяців тому

      What that guy ^^ said. Weed withdrawal is a lot more about the headspace you’re in - especially if you mentally relied on it to that extent.
      You can take comfort in knowing you won’t have any physical withdrawals- that any of that you’re feeling is truly due to you just waiting it out- but not physically needing it.
      You can rest assured that you won’t die or have any sort of physical side effects due to a perceived withdrawal.
      Any that you do are due to anxiety- it’s not an actual physical reliance.
      I do hope you’re able to take comfort in knowing that. It should let you rest easy and calm down a bit.
      I’d suggest maybe not trying to quit smoking cigarettes at the same time. Focus on quitting pot first- then focus on the ciggies.
      Cigs do cause a physical withdrawal
