    Highly underrated guitarist and musician. He's one of those guys that creates guitar orchestras in his music. Very thoughtful.

      I get what you're saying, but I do think he is well appreciated in the music community for his contributions to hard rock, atmospheric rock, etc. APC is a pretty big group and they did incredibly well off of their first 2 albums - he's had a pretty charmed musical career, ultimately - one that we all could only hope for! I am glad for him. Makes you wonder how many incredible musicians are recording at home and never get to our ears...

      He's not a virtuoso, not a shredder, but he has his cool, atmospheric sound, emotional!

    This is so true. Some guitars just have the sound and feel that others of the same make just don't have.

    I start all my new albums from absolute zero in Logic too. Then when i've got a great track 1 - that is the template for that project. I start completely from scratch every time.

    Heh. My "main" Les Paul was 1 of 4 that were absolutely identical, hanging on the music store wall. The other 3, I wanted nothing to do with after playing them, and ended up taking home the one that I did.

      And look at what he got for that: his best guitar. Ya never know what will sound good 'sometimes. My favorite is made out of mahogany plywood.

    Aww what a guy! Sometimes it's as much about how an artist thinks or their perspective that's instructive or inspiring as the music.

    They should have kept the neck volute they had during the Norlin era. The KM Les Pauls had them.

    Lol... I know that no matter how much I practice guitar, I will never get good enough to look at my guitar and think, "Damn...I really need better pickups because these aren't conveying the message I want to send with my mid-range tones."

    Billy, I should really let you try one of the torrified singlecuts I've produced. They have bolt-on wenge necks & sound spectacular. If you're ever interested in a signature model, I'm sure I could draw something up you might find interesting 😉

      Mine fell off a guitar stand & went ping!!
      Sounds better now than ever...
      Les Pauls & SGs are known for losing their heads.

    • @ZiddersRooFurry
      @ZiddersRooFurry 2 роки тому

      The way Gibson makes their necks the point where the main part of the neck meets the headstock has to be angled a certain way in order to keep the strings at a certain tension. However, this makes the point where they meet weaker. A lot of new guitars have something called a 'volute'-a piece of wood in the middle that strengthens the joint. Gibsons don't which is why it's VERY easy to put the guitar down wrong and cause it to break.
      That said he did say that they're rough with instruments on stage and that at one point Trent threw the thing into the crowd and it broke when it landed.

    • @chriscampbell9191
      @chriscampbell9191 2 роки тому

      I read that Trent Reznor broke it. Then gave it to Billy after Billy fixed it. Also, it was "cool" in some bands to break their instruments. Not for everybody, obviously.

    • @nimitz1739
      @nimitz1739 Рік тому

      I guess you never dropped a Les Paul. They are known for breaking at the headstock very easily. Most of the famous Les Pauls have repaired neck.

    • @stephaneaudet
      @stephaneaudet Рік тому

      @@nimitz1739 No i never dropped down the Les Paul and i even chaged my strap lock (Schaller*****) to be sure that my instruments don't fall down.But yes i know about headstock.They are very fragile in this part.
