This guy in the video saying he's "kind of an Ohtani hater" is insulting and just indicates how shallow the guy is. Sure, Ozuna deserves attention, but don't be hating on Ohtani for being a natural center of attention for all he does. Ozuna's stats are excellent in several categories, and he's certainly worthy of appreciation. However, Ohtani leads in several major categories (some by a lot, such as total bases) and has stolen 43 bases so far, while Ozuna hardly steals bases at all. Anyway, it's find to root for your team and their top player, but it's juvenile to rag on Ohtani.
First of all, only 40k bobbleheads were available for 52k people. This was the 2nd Ohtani bobblehead this year. The first one was crazy because a lot of people missed out. That’s why they were early this time. Also, some of the bobbleheads were going to be gold in color which was all the hype. The Dodgers don’t do sponsors for bobbleheads as they take away from charm. I don’t want my bobblehead with a big Wendy’s logo on it 🤣
You're right about the number. I don't know the exact number of gold bobbleheads given out, but it was a fraction of the total number. I think it's sad that so many "fans" choose to immediately list their bobblehead on ebay to sell it for a high price, but maybe for some folks this isa way to bring in some extra cash that's needed. (Tickets for the game are very expensive, too.) These guys in the video don't seem very careful about getting basic details right.
So I went to the giveaway last night. Iirc, it’s to the first 40k, with only a portion being gold. The bobblehead was presented by Daiso Japan and has the logo on the box. (It’s a huge dollar tree/99 cent store-like Japanese company. Most items in the store are like $1.75 to about $5, with certain items a little more. It’s one of the companies that basically follow Shohei, along with Kose, Boss, etc.)
