I am riding Union Bindings for 7 years now - two pairs of Atlas and now one pair of Strata. My abilities are kind of intermediate and if we count my 50 years of age I am maybe even more advanced :-). Atlas are very good, but aggressive indeed and you need to be a speed chaser or try really ultra heavy freeride lines. Strata is a fantastic binding for resort riding. When I switched from Atlas to Strata / the reason was to try the small disk/ I found that the small disk makes the snowboard so lively under the feet. I got so obsessed about this feeling that I will never get back to the big disk. It is really glad that the Union have found a solution to forward lean adjustment. In the 2018/2019 model this was a nightmare, because it was constantly loosening up and you loseit in the end. My Strata is paired with Capita Super DOA 2020 158W and it is a fantastic combo for every day riding. Can't say about powder. I decided to go for another brand and got a Katana by ROME. These are paired with my beloved Jones Aviator 2.0. I plan to have powder adventures with this combo and bring my carving to the next level. I believe they will do the job. So far I am very happy with Katanas. My love to all the snowboard community and Kevin who gave so much to us all. And remember behind the tricks and speed there are many hours in the gym - legs + core and yoga + mobility.
Super DOA is a great allrounder and it is absolutely fine with the Stratas. If you are well fit and with above average skills most likely you will be able to go to the POW. But in general a fantastic combo for resort and park riding. 15+ & 15- my binding setting
yeah I’ve been on my Super DOA/Strata combo for 3 years. Love it. But I will say I did pick up a pair of the new Forces. Going to test it out this weekend.
@@RHagans so I’ve gone up about 6 times this season on the super doa and union stratas setup, and I’m in love. The board has been amazing and I really like the feel of it. It’s my first camber board and I love it. My dad has a pair of forces on his board maybe I should borrow them and see how the feel on mine
riding my ultra and atlas FC for the second season this coming season. They are both so awesome for the things they are meant for. I do kind of like the Ultra better than Atlas simply for the cushy footbed. I need a couple warm up runs to get cush with the Atlas because they are so stiff, but that cushiony footbed on the Ultra is just so nice to slip into and go.
I still prefer my contact pros, great surfie feel, happy in the park, or just jamn around the mountian, all good on drops, they have a lazy aggressive feel if that makes sense.
i just got the atlas 2024 yesterday, tried them out on an indoor slope in the netherlands today and they were freaking awesome! great response and feel and imo they were very comfy aswell!
Im a beginner and ive found a pair of forces for pretty cheap - my boots are pretty medium flex- dp you guys reckon the forces will be too rigid for me
Hi Kevin, wondering what is the name of those purple snowboard pants in your videos? The link to Backcountry doesn’t have the purple one, so like to find them somewhere else if any left. Thanks!
Thanks Kevin for the great vid! I am looking for a binding to pair with the Capita Mercury for all-mountain riding and I was between the burton custom and the union strata/forces. Which one comes to mind when pairing it with the Merc? Thanks!
Hi Kevin! What do you think about Burton bindings? I've been using Burton Cartel X since 2020, now I'm thinking of buying new ones, what do you think is most similar to them from the Union line in terms of characteristics?
What would you reccomend for a "Yes Dicey 2020-2021" New Force, Ultra or Strata. I am mainly riding on groomed slopes. My level is beginner-intermediate.
Does the Ultra or does the Force have a better ratchet/buckle system? The kind used on the Ultra looks like it would be better/easier to ratchet but I wouldn't know since I've never had Union bindings.
How do you like the mini disc vs the traditional sized disc? im kind of a "if it aint broke dont fit it" kinda guy so i never gave them a shot but was always curious
Hey Kevin. What would you recommend for beginner to go with (Ultra / Strata / Flite Pro) + Yes Basic + Ruler boot? Also, of the Ultra and Strata which would be more flex / softer? Thanks
Hey man how are you doing? Looking to buy a pair of Force/Ultra's to match my GNU Riders Choice 2024 for all mt - freestyle, what do you think it will suit best?
Anyone have experience with the Union STR bindings? I want to get a second pair of bindings for my Party Wave because my Flite Pros are way to soft for the party wave transitions are to slow because of the flex in the flite pros.

I just got the daft same setup, 2024 super doa 163w with union stratas, I’ve yet to test it but I’m excited for the season. How do you like it?

I have a pair of white Ultras with my last years Golden Orca.
Good combo!

I think the forces will are still good for beginners. Not too stiff.
@@SnowboardProCamp thanks really appreciate the reply - hoping the whole set up is flexible enough to penguin walk 😁

i think they are the Snow Down pants from Quiksilver
Yep they are Quiksilver, I have the tan version. Really like them but definitely suited for warmer weather riding
Thanks Kevin for the great vid! I am looking for a binding to pair with the Capita Mercury for all-mountain riding and I was between the burton custom and the union strata/forces. Which one comes to mind when pairing it with the Merc? Thanks!
Probably the Forces. Stiffer binding to match the Mercury.
Thank you!

Does it makes sense to put Ultra's on a mind expander? or union strata or force might be a better fit?

I’m going in my 3rd year of snowboarding. Would you recommend Union STR just for riding on the mountain?
What about Falcor?
Good ones too! Stiff and responsive for freeriding

NOW bindings FTW!!
First Have a great winter!
Forces have my attention, if you dont want them kev ill take them off your hands :D the ultras also look good
Edit: no ultras mini disc is bad juju
You reviewers know that there are more binding brands besides Union, right?
Right?...
Got something different arriving today.
Just admit you are paid by union
Forces are ugly this year. Definitely prefer last years design
