Its a shame as the ONE time they fired it it got whacked out the sky by Patriot Air Defense.

@@crismaster7498show us😂 the only one who is shame here is you
As an American, That is some sweet rocketry
The way they use retro rockets to set the missile on its horizontal attitude is amazing, presumably it does this so soon after launch is to avoid enemy radar.
Largely because the radar computers are currently too slow to notice them coming. Radar FFT calculation incur so much performance penalty, so they have to use custom processors for that purpose.
Retro rockets? You must be smokin aderalls
@@elitex50 What are you talking about? Retro rockets is not the name of a high school football cheerleading team cupcake!
This "retro" rocket can fly in ANY direction regardless of the position of the launcher.
Is there anything similar in the US?

Lol doing a handbrake turn just after launch is impressieve.
Seems like Russia has an indefinite number of top quality missiles 💪🏼
And not nearly enough money or people to maintain them.
It's so SATISFYING to watch
Fact that it's fired from mobile platforms is the kicker, means it can be launched anywhere, a bunch of old rusty looking containers near a derelict port just camo for sailor's doom and they wouldn't know it.
You likely person who judged people by its look
It can be launched from Air (jets) , water(subs & destroyers) & land (mobile launchers)
Except the rocket fuel they are using can’t be stored on it long term, it likely takes 3 to 6 hrs to load the fuel, can’t be driven once loaded as it’s unstable as H E double hockey sticks, like nitroglycerin… hiding it in a container, sure but 4 to 6 hours fuel loading which puts off a significant temperature signal that can be seen from space, idk, id bet a drone could take it out well before launch. Similar to the rockets Iran used against Al Assad airbase, we knew launch was happening well in advance, just weren’t entirely sure of the target, and even once launched had time to get out of the way. Ie only a first strike of this thing would work, but after that, they would be obliterated before they could launch. Course, the Moskva was taken out by a much smaller anti ship rocket, but it was one that didn’t need fuel loading time. Pull it out of its container, aim and launch.

Defense against the US imperialists is a matter of national security.
What is the us security ?
Russia in china full power
When you refer to the United States as imperialist, are you suggesting that Russia is not imperialist? You should say "the Russian Empire is preparing against the American Empire." And, if you hate capitalism, I remind you that Russia has been capitalist for more than 30 years.
oscar trespalacios Russia does not have an empire.
@@brabus8317 well, Then tell me what an empire is for you.
after the Bolshevik revolution it invaded and annexed other nations forming the largest and most powerful empire that humanity has known, but then failed. That does not mean that they do not want to return to being an empire as it was because their weak economy does not allow them. That is the reason why the United States exists: to prevent this and other global abuses from happening.
oscar trespalacios The British empire was the largest empire by landmass that covered 33.7 million km2. Because of its massive size, it is said that the sun never sets on the British Empire because it spans across the globe ensuring the the sun was always shining on at least on every territory abroad.
Turning at the air,,, so impressive
This has to be one of the best capable modern short medium intermediate range missile systems. Its supersonic, can be launched for sea air and land. It can be launched vertical than switch to horizontal faster than any other cruise missile then maneuvers at supersonic speeds. Where the tomahawk is older more reliable but it cant go from vertical to horizontal as quick as the p800 or even the older brahmos which makes it vulnerable during the launch phase then when cruising the tomahawk can maneuver better but its subsonic not supersonic and possibly soon or already is hypersonic. All this and possible future nuclear warheads.

Building 10 billion dollar aircraft carriers is an enormous waste of money. Russian hypersonic missiles would sink all 12 In minutes .
robert wolf you forget they all have very very good missile defences and would never come close to a oniks missile range
its just the same concept of tanks($2 million is the minimun price) vs $1000 RPG7 with $100 rocket.
it requires an army personnel who train by sweat & blood for 3years vs emotional talentless civilian who never use a gun a.k.a terrorist.............. remember without laziness science will not born.
Aircraft carrier was built to fight small countries in the middle east
Well I think that aircraft carriers actually are good in intimidating and attacking defenseless tinpot countries. Obviously a country with this kind of weapons would easily destroy the entire american navy.
Michal D Roosevelt
Surprising that the man himself, Roosevelt, would think the Americans are heavily unprepared for such a weapon.
Aircraft Carriers are indeed useful to intimate countries and show we mean business, but it is not the only reason.
Aircraft Carriers sail (in the USN) in Carrier Groups consisting of USN Destroyers, Frigates, Cruisers, Submarines, and Tender.
The Destroyers, Frigates, and Cruisers all have Point Defence Missiles & CIWS (Nicknamed Cheesewiz, after the cheese). At this level alone, a carrier would be safe from all aircraft and any land/sea/air launched missiles. However, our carriers themselves are armed with CIWS as well as have aircraft who can go in on Seek & Destroy missions to destroy said missiles

Nice Job Russia, from Iran
No, if you launch vertically the enemy radar will detect it...
this commentary aged like rotten milk ahahahahahahahahahahahaha
It's intended to be able to hit any target anywhere around, that's the vertical part. The part where it turns horizontally is only because the target is far distance and on (most likely) land. It also flies so low to avoid radar detection from other countries
America now is crying 😢
So what?!
It's coming for my house bro.
Just imagine if Russia wasn't in a frozen land it would put to shame the whole world economically and militarily power still is impenetrable love to the Russians from Mexico.
Russia isn't in a frozen land, it has vast stretches of temperate climate and while the seasonal variation is generally quite extreme due to the absence of the sea to even out temperature, it has just about every type of terrain there is (though taiga and tundra do take up quite a large share)

Only the media makes it seem like Russia is bad. Lots of dumb people fall for it but not as many as you would think
no sonic boom? ok thats odd
Joanne Lee probably didn’t hit sonic yet, or the video ended to soon for you to hear it.
You wouldn't hear a sonic boom from behind the missile anyways. Sonic boom always travels forwards and to the sides of the missile since that's the way the missile pushes the air out of the way
Mother Russia!
The nose is a bit wierd? Fires a couple thrusts for some reason on way up, then one to pivot so fast (good) then another to stop turning once horizontal (great), then it seems to say "job done, komrades" and has a final fire to detach itself presumably clattering to earth with a big hot metallic thud.
I wouldn't want to be standing (or sunbathing) a few 100 metres down range!
It`s done to keep missile flight trajectory as low as possible to hide it from ship radars.
The extra thrusts are to perfectly align itself on the set path. if it doesn't do this, it can result in complete location misfire, even if the thrusters barely move or rotate the missle a milimeter
What's weird about that?
We are so afraiding Nuclear weapons 😢
america? I never heard. Show me who it is.
It looks super cool and the technology is no doubt amazing...but what is the tactical advantage of this? Why not just angle the launcher for a semi parallel take-off? Im sure this could be applicable in submarines or sub surface but the tech seems redundant on a truck that’s already equipped to tilt the rocket in any direction. What do I know though, I’m just a cat!
An angled launcher can only fire relatively (depending on the missile) 45 degrees in front of it and then the missile would waste fuel turning around to hit something behind the launcher, this is the same concept with the s-300 --> s-400 series of launch platforms, just stick it up and fire in any direction
Hierachy 1871 thanks!
coz it designed for allover mount bases : trucks, ships, bombers etc. Missile sense his launch direction - up/down or popup- and make few corrections, just like a cat in the air!
@@Hierachy but couldn't the angled launcher just rotate to any direction??
@@djdrjacob1655 depends on the platform, but most do move, it mainly shortens response time due to it removing the need to actually turn to face the incoming target.
for example look at ships now, everyone is moving towards VLS systems due to respons time (compared to the older arm launchers/box launchers)
like the US is developing larger VLS cells for the future anti-shipping missile instead of an angled box launcher like the harpoon system.
example is the refit of the 3 Zumwalt destroyers by removal of the gun system with large cells as mentioned before
These make sense for defensive purposes. Dont need to have a bunch of ships and to fight ships when you have land based systems that can wipe out foreign invaders ships from a distance.
Defense purposes?
Haha
