I’m 57 recently I was told I have Osteoporosis after doing a bone scan … I do exercise everyday .. I’m gonna try to find the supplement instead of medication you suggested … thank you so much I’ve been listening to your videos all morning, just found you today hugs lots
So sorry to hear about your osteoporosis diagnosis, but we're happy to hear your dedication to becoming healthier and stronger! Let me know how it goes.
Thank you Dr. Brown, I am 61 and my bone density showed osteoporosis in spine but not enough to go on medication just yet, took Fosamax for a couple of years some years ago but doctor stopped it as it didn't show a lot of improvement - doing my 24 hour urine tomorrow. All bloodwork is normal for calcium and Vitamin D - taking 4,000 iu a day and it is now 53. Parathyroid went down from 93 to 83 with the increase of Vitamin D.
I am 59 with osteoporosis. I lost 9% bone in 2 years, my doctor recommend forteo a treatment that scare me for the evidence of bone cancer on rats, and to inject the drug daily. I was losing bone but not as fast as now, but just in these 2 years I was in a lot of stress and stop exercising at all.
Hello! The effects of caffeine on calcium in research studies are inconsistent. It may be a good idea to make sure you are getting a sufficient intake of calcium and limiting your coffee consumption to a maximum of 1-2 cups a day.
Do you think the home test strips are accurate? I am showing 5.0mmol/l of calcium in my urine. I do take a Ca/Mg/Zn supplement. Thanks a lot for the information you provide.
Well all your ideas are right but it's a battle to get these tests done in nz I managed to get my vit d checked and it was at 90 without taking vitamin d but I asked the doctor if I could have my urine tested for loss of calcium in my urine but it was just brushed off oh you dont have that we don't have these opportunities in nz but I'll just work on everything else to build my strong bones so I didn't get an opportunity to ask the 3rd question she just wants me to take the drugs I'm going on vitamin d for a year and do alot more weight work and increase my jumps I'll look into the weighted vest too.my doctor says my cause is lack of estrogen I'm 5 ft 3 and 50kilos. By the way I'm very grateful for your videos

Doctor I've been diag osed with 5 autoimmune diseases. RA for over 30 yrs. My age is 63. The most recent density showed OsteoPena. When i had a mini stroke, from stress, my shoulder required a total replacement, with 2 fractured vertebrae that have been repaired by Kyphoplasty. The following year 8 more fractured one by one. There's more vertebrae that need repair, so that i can straighten up and walk. Calcium.i went through a time , 6 days, when I could see calcium in my urine. During this time, i urinated much more often than usual. No infection. I read that this can happen when the body is getting rid of a future kindney stone. Is that true? My
Hi There! It sounds like you have been through quite a lot with managing your health conditions. It is important to consult with your doctor about calcium loss in the urine. There are tests they can do to test your urine for this loss.
Yes. Hyperparathyroidism is a disorder where the parathyroid glands, located in the neck, produce excessive amounts of parathyroid hormone (PTH). PTH plays a crucial role in regulating calcium levels in the blood. When there is too much PTH, it can lead to elevated calcium levels in the blood, a condition known as hypercalcemia. Chronically elevated levels of PTH and calcium can have detrimental effects on the bones. The bones may release calcium into the bloodstream, leading to a reduction in bone density and, over time, to conditions such as osteopenia (reduced bone mass) and osteoporosis (severe bone loss). This is because PTH stimulates the breakdown of bone tissue to release calcium into the blood.
When I lived in South America, some of my friends would grind eggshells for calcium. It is a good source of calcium, but a little hard to digest. But remember, calcium is overemphasized and we don't pay enough attention to the other 19 key bone nutrients!
Serum magnesium exists in three fractions: protein-bound, complex-bound, and free, ionized form. The free, ionized form of magnesium in our serum is the only biologically active form. This is why here at Alkaline for Life; we use and recommend the ionized form of magnesium. If you'd like to know more about magnesium, I've attached a link to a helpful article. Hello! My Dr. wants me to go on Calcitriol which is a vitamin D 3 to get into the bone more. My own vit D 3 that I picked up at Whole Foods isn't doing it. Now I do have some kidney issues and do easily get dehydrated which doesn't help my kidneys but am trying to drink more. I believe some meds that I take might have something to do with it but will go over more with my doctor. Now I did try Calcitriol but it doesn't agree with me and feel very tired. Lousy side effects. What should I do. Wishing my regular vit D3 would work but not sure why it don't. Dr. Brown or anyone please reply. Need to understand more. Thank you
I have a question, please, my blood calcium was a little high on a blood test. Does that mean I’m losing calcium from my bones. This is the first time. I’m 77 years old. Thank you 🙏.

Calcium from algae, sourced from marine plants like seaweed, is a plant-based and eco-friendly calcium supplement. It not only provides a good source of calcium but also includes other essential minerals like magnesium. This type of calcium is easily absorbable, making it a great choice for those seeking a sustainable plant based option for supporting bone health.
@@DrSusanBrown thank you. One more question: what about what we hear that calcium + magnesium should not being taken at the same time? Is it true? Cause my combo Bone supplement has both in it. thanks in advance.
This question comes up often and the competition between Calcium and Magnesium is minimal which is why we recommend taking additional magnesium to help to small offset. The Ionized Magnesium offers very absorbable sources of Magnesium nutrients alkalineforlife.com/products/ionized-magnesium?_pos=1&_sid=aff070759&_ss=r

You have to take Vit K2 with Vit D3 so that the calcium goes into your bones and teeth and not into arteries or other tissue. It's important.
Best to look for liquid VitD
