I have ironed after I applied Odicoat...I put the odicoated side of the fabric face down on parchment paper then iron the interfacing on the back side of the fabric. Works very well and it actually helps to really cure the odicoat on that fabric.

That's great info! Thank you so much. You know, I'm thinking doing another video testing some of the things I've learned about odicoat since the last time I made this video. :)

Hi, I haven’t tried that I’ve always clean it with a wipe and detergent. I think you can if you but there is a process before hand you need to complete sorry I haven’t tested that

How long does the gel odi coat last if it’s placed on seams to waterproof the seams of a bag? Does it flake off? If so, how long after use does that happen?

I've had a couple of purses for about 4 years now and the gel odi coat still looks good, it hasn't flake off, I don't think it will because it gets inside the fibers of the fabric. But that's just from my experience. Hope that helps.

She didn't check the how waterproof the fabric is with only one coat. Just because the instructions say you have to put on 2 coats . having a non-glossy fabric might be desired. It would good to know how waterproof one coat might be. Also, how does the fabric preform when you wet the uncoated side ? A little skeptical experimentation might be desirable here. After all, wouldn't the manufacturer be happier if the customer used twice as much product, regardless how it preformed?

This question came at the right time! Wow! I'm actually in the process of testing Odicoat and Heat N Bond liquid vinyl and testing different coats on fabric and how they perform. Great question about how the fabric performs on the uncoated side. I didn't think of that, but will sure include it. I'm actually recording the results tomorrow and will have it ready in the next 2 weeks. I'm testing 1 coat, 2 coats and 3 coats, if you have any other questions, please let me know :)

Just want to let you know that painting cloth with "Spar Urethane" will seal & waterproof it. Spar Urethane is clear, UV resistant, oil based and finished result if similar to old fashion waterproofing using linseed oil.

oh wow, that's so good to know. I googled it and the hardware stores sell them in spray and gallons. I will have to try it. I'm going to have to give it a try soon :) Thanks!!!

Ugh. Making a waterproof purse. I initially fused Pellon 808 fused to the back of the fabrics. Then I tried to add the OdiCoat to the front. First smaller piece went well. Second larger piece has many wrinkles? Air pockets? Could you please suggest how I went wrong and what to do on my next attempt?

Hi! Wow that's a hard one without being able to see it, but for wrinkles or air pockets on the fabric, it could be your interfacing wasn't fused completely, and it lifted up the fabric when you applied the OdiCoat. That's the only thing I can think of. Also, make sure you're applying an even coat of OdiCoat to the fabric once is completely cooled down. Hope that helps, it's so frustrating when these things happen.

I need to waterproof one small piece on my tote bag. I’m thinking of trying the Pellon vinyl fuse, however, there’s one thing i need to ask you,
I do not like the shiny side being on the outside . is it all right to put the shiny side on the inside of that tote bag pocket book

It should work, if the tote bag gets wet on the outside, it should protect the inside if you apply inside as well. Have you consider the vinyl fuse with a matte finish?
