I always fell asleep when trying to watch a Stormgate match. After playing ZeroSpace and Immortal Gates of Pyres this week-end, it's just a no-match between those great two and StormGate. There is nothing interesting or radically new in SG. The universe and the units are really boring except two (the walking viper from their undead faction and the rolling ball zealot from the protoss faction).
I have no idea what's going on. Couldn't tell you if these players know exactly what they are doing or if they are clueless. There's something to be said for having recognizable unit designs like marines and swordsmen.
This unit is gaunt, he throws axes at people, there's also hexen, he has makes skull that give vision. This has been exhaustive look into all army units used in this game. If you got lost I dunno what to tell you.
Considering that people that won SC2 world championship in 2013 would currently struggle in gold with that skill level - it's gonna take a while before players know what they are really doing. Still this game was pretty straight forward - one player attempted proxy cheese, the other hard countered it
The celestials tried to do some work with a top bar ability called sovereigns watch or something. A global ability that turns buildings into something with a beam attack. The giant building is the celestials economic center and it can float around the map. Floating it over to your opponent and roasting them with the beam has been a plague recently, but this infernal countered it with defensive tower usage and the unit called the “gaunt” ranged attacker air and ground, and they killed the arc ship which wrecked the celestial player. That’s it basically, not much as far as a stormgate match.
Deleting creep camps is bad. What do people do in SC2 for example in the early game? Scouting and macroing or early agression. Watching a sc2 match early game where both players just macro is much more boring to watch than players clearing creep camps. Early agression can be exciting but when it happens too often its annoying and boring. Long matches with giant armies are more exciting to watch. I agree with the smaller maps in total and more centered creep camps, but deleting them in total is just bad. If you want players to fight over creep camps then why did you add speed camps instead of Luminite/Therium camps which give the players a passive income and would force the other player to contest the camps, this would give the players a reason to fight over the camps and to not let the other player have them.
Kinda goofy there's literally no delay before the arkship starts healing.
Why does the Arcship constantly heal like that? That seems ridiculous.
Warcraft 4 looking weird.
where sovereign and his watch?
Neat!
this is some stinky cheese

Ugly little match, but good to see the proxy cheese still loses, even after they nerfed defense.

That was bad play to just leave arc ship there.
tbh he already lost the moment the cheese got held.
damn the sound design really is terrible
Yea, other than the music - which is really good and it's a shame it was so quiet during the vid - most sound effects are placeholders.
I skipped through and it's still boring asf.
Wow this was not a good play at all
Yeah this cheese worked the match prior against another player and this time it failed spectacularly.
