I've been waiting for this one for quite a while. I even bought a gaming PC (well, not really a gaming PC, but one that's powerful enough to play certain games) to play games like this one at during the time!
Wrestleman! Love the aesthetic of this game - like a long-lost DOS adaptation of River City Ransom. The pallette and audio are pure PC, style is classic NES.
always cool to see different fighting styles,reminds me of when Vegeta does his giant swing vs recoome or black Goku in dragon Ball z/super

Guys please keep the 3DS in mind after you find success on Steam (I'm sure you will), It would be the most amazing beat' em up experience on the go and while the Switch seems to be going to sell well, the 3DS already has a big user base.

Keep up the great work! Also, it's a shame the NES Mini doesn't include RCR like the Famicom Mini did. It would have definitely generated more attention to this game.
Looks fantastic, but ouch, those sounds are way too heavily processed. It sounds like all of the SFX were run through a Plogue Chipsounds preset and it doesn't really have the desired effect imo. They're way too high-midrangey and will give folks headaches after too long. I'm sure the effects themselves are great, just the post-processing kills em.

Modern day video games have been around for over 30 yrs!!! Why has it taken sooooo long to put wrestling moves in a video game?!?!?! Besides in a wrestling game. Hybrid Heaven on N64 was the last time I saw wrestling moves put in a non wrestling game besides Final Fight, or Street Fighter, (very limited).
Ross Malagarie I was a huge fan of N64 wrestling games. So it inspired a lot of the gameplay and moves.
Thanks! DDTS, suplexes, power bombs, clothslines, RKOs, Stone Cold Stunners, brainbusters, sidewalk slams, back breakers, back body drops, super kicks, F-5s! A boss should use a F-5 to one hit kill you! If you don't have these or most of these moves in the game PLEASE make a wrestling move DLC!

One of the playable characters in Fist of the North Star: Ken's Rage has a couple wrestling moves, mostly in the form of power bombs. That's a PS3 game :O

Adrian OK I'm shooting for once a week. it's helping me test the moves also. mind you each character has about 30 moves each so lots of playtesting to smooth things out

So just for curiosity sake I made a G+ thing with a photo of myself in it.( Unfortunately my dark blue eyes look almost black in it for some reason) Feel free to compare if ya want. Lots of fun moves... but its still Missing ALL the Japanese 'Feels' that made kunio what it is.... I was living in japan when kunio reigned supreme. The music is also very "EURO-chip" sounding and Technos wasn't doing it that way. We need a legit japan release from the OG. I dont know what its going to take. But I know that many of the developers who worked on the classic games are still alive today.

Hard to say without getting hands on. Punch, Kick, Grab, Jump. Special + direction + P/K/G performs big moves. Two buttons will cycle through items, another will activate (or alternatively they'll slot into a hotbar and number keys). Eight buttons, and only five used regularly? Doesn't seem overwhelming.
...But anyone who considers themselves a PC gamer should have a compatible controller. If I didn't already have a dedicated XBone controller, my desire to avoid the keyboard would be so strong that I'd learn how to play this game with a flight stick.
As one of the people that participated in the backer preview, I can shed some lights on the controls. There is only one button to cycle through items. The special button replaced the other cycle button ("Next", according to Andrew Russell). The missing eighth button is the block button, which would make six buttons actively used.
On the subject of using FG controllers though: I played this game on a Hori FC4 (via x360ce). I needed to switch around a few buttons to get the best feeling for the game. We did have someone do wonders with a hitbox though, as you can see in the early combo video. I don't know his layout though so I can't help you there. Having your buttons set up like Street Fighter (Square, Triangle, R1, L1 on row 1) should be a great start.

& Mr. Streetwize: Ahh, forgot Block. My mistake. And thanks for the correction on item cycling. I played around with the backer builds for less than an hour total so the game will be fresh upon release., so maybe I shouldn't have spoken with authority... *wink*
