Alex, thank you for this second interview with these guys (Dux and Grittani). You are the only one who tries to really get to the understandings of how to use data in excel to find an edge. A few more interviews with these guys and I think the light bulb will be fully lit.

Thats because we are listening to each other and as one is explaining something we are thinking about what they are saying. Dux and I are similar when we talk to each other we look away as the other person is talking. Tim G will stare at you in the eyes when you talk.

It's a good interview and I've enjoyed even the facial expressions during the interview! They've learned a lot about each others too. A great trader must be a good observer and if measure something it must serve a purpose. If not just throw away that data (I agree with Grittani). Matti talks and thinks like an algo trader but he's a good observer too. Observation and an analytic mind are essential tools for a trader (even algo traders).
love the institutional content, great interview questions. u ask the questions us novice traders have. good job brother, keep up the good work

Last four weeks I’ve been tracking data with Excel. Had no idea this is what Tim did until today - very reassuring to know I’m unintentionally following in the footsteps of a great trader.

Great content, all these guys are awesome. I think data tracking can be helpful and build confidence especially for very analytical people, although I'm finding market conditions to be important areas to consider. If you have a huge 700% runner you will generally see other stocks spiking in sympathy over the next several days. Buyers are more aggressive, both in terms of buying dips, also in chasing breakouts. Then we can have lulls where all the lead gappers fade. These changes, or cycles in the market can influence the data, and really need to be taken into consideration while tracking or trading. Not to mention patterns also tend to cycle. Regarding the comment made about support and resistance being subjective, it's true the amount of buyers or sellers at a previous high of day might not make it a real support or resistance based around those previous traders, but since thousands of other traders will look to those levels it can often be a self fulfilling prophecy for support or resistance.

Do you find that certain patterns work better in specific sectors? Or do you look for patterns that work in all sectors?
Good question. May ask next time. But personally feel patterns work during diff times of the market.

This is true, over 6 months I only had 35 solid occurrences, any others were too illiquid or gapped down too much from the start to even play
