Man it makes a lot of sense to record your live sessions talking through your thoughts and then treating them like game tapes reviewing them later to get better at performance I'm definitely going to be doing that
Thank you for bringing Jared to talk. Every interview he gives is truly unique. He always manages to bring a lot of small but valuable insights about trader’s mindset.
Man, the bit at 12 mins is very much me. Last week I watched a chart for 2-3 hours waiting for a setup. I ate lunch outside for 10 minutes and came back in and it was well underway, done even. I lamented to my gf that I made a mistake. As an outsider, she easily thinks of it how Jared does, but it took me a while of self talk to accept that it was just how it is and that it wouldn't be the last time the setup occurred and wouldn't be the last time I miss it and likely get annoyed with myself.
You're on the right track, brother. Your self awareness already puts you ahead of the game. Keep growing, and someday every mistake you've ever made will be a lesson you can use to help others.
Alex, I am so glad I stumbled across this video. I have been studying and trading for 2.5 years now and I have watched several interviews that you have done. I am finally starting to understand all of it and I am finally in a position to pour everything I have into it. I know that one day you and I will be sitting across from each other and we will be having a conversation about my journey and bouncing ideas off of one another. I have lost 10k in the past trying to trade being over confident. I have passed and blown several Apex challenges. I have watched countless hours of videos and listened to podcasts to learn more and when I finally figured out I had to get a handle on my own brain, well it started to change. There's only 2 things ive ever done in my life consistently, and only about 2 years ago, gym and trading. I look forward to watching more interviews.
Wow 🤩 awesome interview 👏🏼👏🏼. Great questions and amazing insight. I’m happy to say I’ve done some of things he talks about(journaling). I’m working on keeping the internal temperature cool and calm. Also been hitting the Sauna at the end of my trading session, or once I’ve met/fail my daily goal. It helps. Anyway thanks you for everything. God bless you 🫶🏼
The analogy of taking a break after an argument with the wife is a good one, also the wife is the market.. she's always right! The sooner you accept this fact the better :)
And if I am a girl trader, the market is my husband? When will you boys understand that there are so many professional female traders out there these days, that any gender ralated jokes are not in fashion anymore.
Didn’t watch the video yet but came to say I bought his book “The Mental Game of Trading” and it legit changed my entire mindset within 6 months. After almost a year now, my psychology is the best it’s ever been during the worst month of trading I’ve ever had this September 🙄 but I’m not even worried about it just trading my set up. The intro was crazy hearing him say “6 months” cause I’m like 👀 dang how’d he know? 😂
Nailed it again Alex! Great content. Love the end. Once you internalize what you need "you can never unlearn it". East Dallas let's find coffee over charts!
Great video. I have made so many emotional mistakes on trading. So costly. I’m taking a break 😂😂😂. Definitely writing down what I have done wrong. Wrong.Self analysis.

The Mental Game of Trading by Jared is one of the best books on trading i've ever read. If you want to be successful do yourself a huge favour and read/listen to it early on in your career.
Does he even trade? I know he's well-educated and established in the poker/golf scene... and now trading... but I think I remember him talking about not trading.
no he doesn't . he said I do not trade because I know what skills are needed to be a great trader and I don't have theses skills . this is why trading is 100 percent skill based/process based event . you will hear young traders say trading is 80- 90 percent psychology .this is false . if that was the case Jarred would be the best trader around .
@@kohosalmon3637I believe he is able to offer advice on trading because trading and no limit texas holdem poker are very similar and in my opinion trading is easier ( once you have customized your system to fit your trading style ) you have to stay the entire session at a poker table where as in trading you set your profit targets. In retrospect, let me back up and say trading was easier for me to understand because I was already used to feeling high pressure situations as well as learning how to manage my bankroll. I came in knowing what it felt like to make all the decisions and still lose so much money in one hand. Once I discovered leverage trading, I took a break from poker because its much easier to disassociate your emotions in trading through setting take profit points.
We’ve seen many interviews you’ve done with other traders. When will we see a step-by-step demonstration of your trading process, such as how you start your day and execute transactions? We’d really like to see your approach to trading.

Man sorry to hear this brotha. Trading is not easy at all but I mean that is up to you on if you should quit. I'm not one to tell anyone this. Especially after just reading a short text on a comment without knowing their entire story. THx for watching tho!
It sounds like you can't afford to risk capital at the moment if you're $20k in debt. What I'd recommend is going to SIM trading where you don't risk any capital, while you stack your income/savings. AT THE WORST, I would trade futures prop firms like Apex Trader Funding (Coupon "ARSENAL" gets you 80%-off right now, lol!) But yeah, I highly recommend you DO NOT put your money at risk until you can afford to lose 100% of everything you're putting in.
@BTheStory thank you for the effort you put on here. Yes, trading is really hard. I wish big success to anyone who is in this journey because if you make it, you'll be upon most of us here
I have been trading for over 10 years now. I thing I would advice you on is start with a micro size trade. I trade the futures market and if I have 5 losses in a row, I step back to see whats wrong or I start trading a micro like the MES in future. If I can't make money on a micro size trade how would a large trade make me money? Probably just loose more. Start very small until you start making profitable trades. More profit then losses has kept me in the game all these years. Yes I trade full time and love it.
@@leger205I love to hear that you trade full time, I just started trading full time and I’m a measly 2 years in to my journey .
