  • Nikki is scared for her daughter's life. She says her daughter, Aanasia, has been fighting, skipping school, and even scamming her own mother using Nikki's credit card. Aanasia says it's not as bad as it sounds but Nikki is scared that if one fight goes too far, it could be over for her child. Can Karamo help this mother and daughter get their relationship back on track?

      Yes! The expectation needs to be clear! But, she had a very unhappy look when Mom explained why she was taking that phone! These electronics have ruined parents and almost a whole generation! Something that could have been a positive has become so negative. Every time I hear about troubled kids most of the time there is an iPhone or some sort of electronic involved. The first time my daughter tried to act like I was cutting her heart out when I took her phone she didn't get one back for over a year. She knew my biggest parent fear was not being able to reach her and not having a location, so she thought the phone was untouchable, that is until I found these wonderful watches online that not only had accuracy when it came to the GPS, but it allowed me to communicate with her and approve a list of numbers for her to call. She wasn't happy, but she moved forward with shaping up real quick!

    School can be torture for some young people. Peer pressure, bullying and keeping up with trends is social media driven. If you are different in any way, you could become victimized.

    • @user-bk7iq3ne7n
      @user-bk7iq3ne7n 6 місяців тому +25

      Exactly! I remember in elementary school there were girls jealous of me because I had real long hair and that day was picture day so they were looking and rolling their eyes and all I could do was think to myself and ask myself why are they rolling their eyes and then they came with threats and asking me do I think I look good and better than any of them. I was damn confused cause I was new to the school so I didn’t have no confrontations with anyone. So every school I went to I dealt with females hating on me cause of my hair and shape I had body wise. It was crazy and sad. I can’t help if I long good hair and a nice shape. But I got not one fight in elementary because the girl had pushed me on the grown and I never been hit on before in my life so I had to whip her azz and after that none of her friends respected her because I guess she was the big person out the group, the main bully that tells others what to do and she was tall and I was a short girl so by her getting her azz whipped by a short girl they looked at that like you can’t even fight and bullying people and that’s a lot of bullies that can’t fight. And still today as an adult I do get shade but I’m mature so I keep my head held high and smile at the end of the day cause I go home to my husband and kids every night and no one has to like me. I have more haters than dust. 😂 But I also have the blessed ones around me and they are truly great and wonderful people.

      This is very true, but if you think about it, when parents are absent, a lot of times, they either compensate with material things or the person makes themselves happy with material things when they get older. So they're not trying to give material things, they're trying to give the good feeling that happens when you receive something. It's unfortunate

    One of the biggest mistakes we makes as parents is trying to give our children the things we needed as a kid, we have to realize that our children’s don’t have the parents, the life or the needs that we had as children. It’s easy to say I didn’t have this so I’m giving it to you but it’s harder to find out who your child is, what they actually need and to provide that but it’s better for our children.

Listen when I became an adult I found out real quick that life doesn’t bend to suit me! I was crushed when I learned how hard life can be and one day I actually told her once I hit my 30’s how much she damaged me because I had to figure some things out on my own. The daughter is not terrible lmao yall dragged it so much. She has so much potential especially in modeling. She doesn’t seem bad, what I was doing at her age was worse I got kicked out of every school until I ended up in night school. Now I am in school with my second degree trust me it’ll work out.
    And she clearly cares about her mom and vice versa they’ll be good I think she needs proper guidance and she’ll be good. People in the comments need to be more positive.

    I think Karamo should’ve gone deeper. It feels like something more is going on with this child. What does she really mean by overwhelm at school? If she was displaying this at three years old, there is something more there. Severe ADHD can also manifest in anger/impulsiveness and poor emotional regulation. Or there may have been trauma. She seems like a smart girl who needs more help than she got here. I think that’s why she called in, more so than the discipline issue.

    The problem is parents that had a rough childhood want to give their children what they didn’t have growing up. Which is fine however, make your kids earn it. Stay out of trouble, chores, make good grades etc……and you can get nice things. It’s okay to spoil your kids but set boundaries as well.

Handing them gifts and rewards with nothing to celebrate is what it’s turned into. Now my son just expects things without even thinking about his grades or chores. I know I need help. He’s 11 I pray it’s not too late to start being more strict.

    Just my opinion but I think genetics can play a part. My parents have anger issues and as do I and my siblings. I am the only one who really learned how to control mine. My boys remind me of myself. I am teaching them to control their anger instead of just giving them what I didn't have. Soft parenting doesn't always make things better. I honestly think soft parenting is just an excuse to be lazy to not discipline the child. Just my thoughts

      Gentle parenting isn’t treating your child like angel and letting them get away with everything. The issue is that because so many people want to break the generational curses of authoritarian style parenting, they go to the other extreme with is being too lenient. Gentle parenting still requires a lot of discipline, if not, more so than any form of physical discipline. If done correctly, it teaches the child communication, boundaries and many more great qualities without inflicting trauma on the child.

    This story hits close to home. I am and have struggled with this issue with my own daughters. We often parent out of guilt or our own childhood traumas because we know what it is like to be without or have less than. You tell yourself that if I would have had this then maybe I would have done….. or been… when the truth is, look at how this mother turned out despite her setbacks. She appears to be a loving and caring parent. I don’t discredit the daughter’s feelings because their struggles are different than our generation. It takes time, love, and understanding. And this too shall pass. Discipline in the correct way is a form of love and she will appreciate you in the long run.
