Just make sure that you mark the spline side with either punch Mark's or paint. Also just lock the steering shaft by pulling out the key and let the steering lock lock. As to the steering box you can make a small center tool out of a bolt. Just grind it so it has a pointed end. There is a special tool for that. This allows you to lock the gear box on center.
