- Lightfall is finally here!! Yet I'm somehow feeling glued to a particular solar build. Young Ahamkara strikes again, and it's better than ever. Seriously I think this will be one of the top Hunter builds this season. It's incredibly strong for any level of content and really fun to play. Enjoy!

PSA for everyone watching this video. If you notice when Patty hovers over Grenade Kickstart and Solar Surge with the Seasonal mods on, the cost is reduced from 3 to 1. But if you have those mods already slotted, you have to unequip them and reequip for the reduced cost to take effect (which you can spot in the video as well where Patty's Solar surge cost more than it should)
Yes this is a good thing to mention, I wish it auto updated the cost after picking the artifact options

I was using this build back when solar 3.0 first dropped and it felt so good, glad to see it's still getting praise today.
The unstop stunning actually works with the direct ignites you already do with the build. So just by running any Solar weapon you can already cover both barrier and unstops. If you run let’s say Calus Minitool or the Ammit you even get Overload
One of you OLDER YAS builds got me to main this exotic forever! Been running this in PvP and PvE for over a year!

Perfect timing! I was just looking for a new solar build to run for the legendary campaign
For me, I've been using proximity knives and Caliban's Hand. One knife does so much ad clear and has saved my life countless times on legendary campaign so far. Look up guide videos to get the right fragment build
This is nearly the exact build I used for the whole campaign. Polaris was already my favorite exotic but now that it scorches and ignites in 2 P5 shots it's been glued to my energy slot. I also leaned hard into gunpowder gamble since it contributes to YAS spam.
I was the same for a while, but I would actually recommend Prometheus Lens over it. If you run a special ammo mod you almost never run out. The Exotic Cata has incandescent, and once the "orb" starts to grow it scorches. Instead of using the Ember of Resolve use ember of Singeing. It's more useful when fighting bosses as it significantly speeds up your dodge recharge. I've been using this since Solar 3.0, and the dodge regen is more consistent for spamming. You create fire sprites frequently enough that you don't really NEED ember of Resolve, but in higher end content it would be the safer choice, but anything below GM, and maybe Master I would recommend Ember of Singeing over Resolve, but for bosses Singeing is still superior.

@@crescentjester The build I was using was the On Your Mark and Gunpowder aspects with the Char , Resolve, Singeing, and Ashes fragments. No radiant so I used triple solar weapon surge to sort of make up for it. I haven't used P-Lens in a long while. I need to break it out again.
I too have been absolutely loving Polaris Lance. Was my favorite scout since warmind but never found it good enough to main until now.
I've been running a similar version of this build and I've loved it. One change I made was slightly less healing. Ember or mercy, ember of resolve, and recuperation is a bit much. If it's so dangerous that you need 3 sources of healing, then you might as well swap to polaris lance, kinetic blinding gl, and cataclysm. With the blinding and range, you barely ever need any healing. I would recommend swapping in ember of empyrean or ember of singeing. You can also just swap in a different leg mod (almost all of them are great). Great video as always!

Polaris Lance & Ahamkara 2 of my favorite exotics in D2 so I’m lovin dis build fasho dis is basically my current playstyle solar is my favorite element still even after strand but all of em are hard fasho.

Oh thank God your guides exist I've been trying to make a good lightfall build to tackle the legendary campaign and all the builds I've been seeing rely on either lost sector armor or raid weapons
I'm commenting under a lot of comments, because I've been using this build for the last two seasons since Solar 3.0, but Ember of Singeing is better ability spamming than Ember of Resolve, and Prometheus Lens coupled with that mean your dodge has like a 10-15 seconds CD as long as something is scorched(Via Incandescent, and the build in Scorch of Pro Lens). Which gives you better DPS than Special Weapons, but still less than Heavies.

I love seeing how much better the build I used to run before Solar 3.0 is. Might go back to this build instead of my Caliban's one now
Caliban is REALLY only good for Add clearing TBH. Ahamkara is genuine boss DPS if you swap out Ember of Resolve for Ember of Singeing, but you sacrifice survivability for it. Fire Sprites sort of cover that already though.
for me another exotic weapon that synergized quite well was tommys matchbook (masterworked) youll be generating tons of firesprites and is a good option for overload champions

What is unique about builds right now? Nothing? Bungie fucked up their "BUILDCRAFTING". New mod system is a mess.

It sure was a lot more powerful but it was legit impossible for a new player to make any build work that isn't extremely self sufficient like this or Starfire.
@@EmptyTenementSpirit No it was not. Actually it was 10x better than current shit show. We are forced to run the same fcking mods on every subclass. There is no diversity. They fucked up most of the things they could. 28% positive revievs speaks for itself. Stop trying to defend these thieves. All they had to do: remove armor type, add presets. Also we are talking about builds, not about how to acquire mods. That's big difference. And they unlocked all mods if u dont remember.
@@EmptyTenementSpirit Bungie made every mod available to all players in Season of Plunder, so that criticism was already solved. The old system had significantly more depth than the new system, and you could make builds that accomplished extremely specific things, and I will miss that. I’m hoping they add a lot of new mods in the future because right now the new system is pretty bland.
@@foshed_tv I literally agree, the only change I fully agree with in the new system however is removing armour elemental polarity or whatever, if you removed that from the old system it'd be perfect imo.

YAS build has been my fun go-to. I think I'll have to change it up though with your build to make it way better tho. Been working on using hat trick and pan/aim slightly left so that I'm effectively throwing them in 1 line - big deeps with it

Hey Patty, is the rotation where you throw a grenade then hit with weapon then dodge to get the grenade energy back up quickly? I was trying to watch your gaming at the end of the video to get your fighting rotation and I think that is how I see it.
I used Path of Burning Steps with Zaoli's Bane (Explosive Rounds/Incandescent) and armor charge with solar surge and emergency protection for the legendary campaign. Carried me though the whole thing easily with the sheer weapon damage (except for the final boss, which I had to use Strand for).

Question does putting stats into Discipline make sense? Seems like you get grenades back so fast already that the stats would be better used elsewhere.
You can definitely put it elsewhere. It’s nice to have though in case you miss a nade or two
In my opinion just use calus mini tool and 1k because with these abilities and the add kill potential of your abilities and smg meaning you won't need more ad clear with this build so instead use 1k so that when you start to go against big boys you can prock your grenade again because 1k will ignite a target allowing you to repeat the process without a dodge.
Running similar build with skip nades and shinobu vow, I counted 16 nades before cooldown
Seems like hunter is now king of ability builds now at least for solar

Bruh, I've been using this build non-stop since Solar 3.0. It's more fun than Caliban's IMO, and it's so much more damage to single-target enemies. I'm kind of surprised you didn't know about this sooner. Or maybe you didn't like the lack of recovery which is remedied with the two new fragments. Either way great video, and glad to see people growing the love on Ahamkara's in PVE
How about using Skyburners Oath since that scorches everything on contact instead of that hand cannon?
So my favorite subclass has an insane build ? Okay, I'll def try it out, thanks for the tip, I'll add legendary weapons which I think will be cool in it : Trust and Mindbender's Ambition, they work great with the hunter solar subclass anyway, and Trust also got a buff that scorches targets. Prometheus Lens is CRAZY with a solar build, always loved it anyway but it feels great to use it with the solar subclasses changes.

You could also try out 1K Voices since it does scorch stacks now

I got a different build but this is pretty much what I've been running Polaris is a lot better now with self ignitions
Every time I go to create a build, I watch videos in English. And that I am Latin American and that I am not, I speak English well. good video man and greetings!
Most uninportant stat for this build is discipline since you get 30% of the grande charge back per knife hit. This means when you hit all 3 knives you get your grenade bavk immediately. Additionally ignitions count as ability hits as well. I run 100 res + high mobility since i use my knifes to get the grenade back. Pair that with ember on singing and you will have constant dodge uptime as well. In ypur arms put in the mods to get additional class energie on powered meele and grenade hits.
I didnt run the new fragment for restoration, because the 3 seconds restoration are not worth it in my opinion. But it definitely needs more testing.
Polaris Lance is so good for legend campaign, infinite ignitions is ridiculous

I use the void build during the campaign on legend (solo btw) it’s a broken build because of the new fragments which basically give me infinite invisibility infinite devour and infinite volatile rounds whenever I dodge
Yeah, the void build is great. I would've like to use it for the whole campaign instead of being forced to use strand in missions. Nothing against strand, just sucks to have a build/playstyle that works, only to have to change to something completely different that can't be customized in mission.

Just wondering how come you ain’t able to buy a ship anymore from the tower. I don’t know if this is just me but the person you are able to speak to to buy a ship is no longer there from me in the tower. Does anybody know why and how I’m now able to get a ship? I really wish Bungie would cover all there bases with Sunshot and other exotics. If you ADD subclass verbs, put it in the damn description for the weapon. New players/didn’t read twab would have no idea otherwise
Using a rocked with demolitionist for exstra dps do rocked nade rocked mele nade nade rocked for max dps or end with super and nade is back dodge for mele and start again
You don't need the grenade kickstart mods with the Ahamkara build, your Knife Trick will refund it in full on each use. Use Bolstering Detonation and Focusing Strike instead so you can get your dodge back quicker to maintain your rotation on high health targets: Trip Mine, Melee, *immediately* Trip Mine, (Ignition triggers from initial Trip Mine/Knife Trick combo refunding Trip Mine), Trip Mine, (another ignition triggers), Trip Mine, Dodge, Melee, Trip Mine.....
What stats should I focus on
Are there any other weapons u would recommend to try for the build? You said they were the better 2 but were any others ok for it

Since I don't have Sunshot, I just use Monte Carlo since it's an auto rifle that not only gets increased damage from melee kills, but also gets maximum stacks of Markov chain and a full reload, on top of the 25% damage increase from being Radiant. Also, since it's an auto rifle, it fills in the only thing solar can't deal with, which is Overload. Not gonna lie though, as nice as Monte Carlo is, Sunshot sounds way better since it can give firesprites on kills and give melee/grenade energy.
There's also Kinetic weapon surge, so it's at least 60% bonus damage when combined.
Just tried it out, at 6001 power, the damage per shot is roughly 1100, but with max stacks of Markov chain, Radiance and 1 Armor Charge for Kinetic Weapon Surge (I have a maximum of 6), the damage goes up to around 4300 damage a shot.

Can ignitions count as grenade final blows for the "cure" fragment? Or does the final damage have to be from the grenade itself?
Ignition (and Scorch) count as whatever damage type that got the scorch first.
F.e. if you knife trick first then tripmine and they die to the ignite then it counts as melee damage and you get the knife back. You don't get the knife back if you tripmine first. Thus it's likely if you use grenade first so it's the first source of scorch you will Cure if they die to Scorch or Ignite.
